I am studying Holistic Nutrition so this book was part of my educational concentrations. It is written by Howard F. Loomis, Jr. I am rating this book very high on my radar as I was introduced to terms and facts in a way that enhanced the well-being of me and my family. I better understand why life is not possible without enzymes and I am clear on the biochemical reactions that bring our foods to maturity and ripeness.

The author takes you through the historical background of nutrition all the way back to 400 B.C. You will cover The Naturalistic Era (400 B.C. to 1750 A.D), The chemical-analytical era (1750 to 1900), The biological era (1900 to 1955), and The cellular or molecular era (1955 to present).
There are many interesting facts in this book and for me, I am unable to look at the “bruising” on an apple the way I did as a child. Digestion is also covered in the material of this book which is also life-enhancing.

I would definitely suggest this book to anyone interested in learning more about Enzymes and the role they play in your every day life.

This is a great book for anyone who is new to study of enzymes and how important enzymes are to your body working correctly as well as longevity. I personally got a lot of rich information from this book, some of which was very technical. Still, a lot of it was very easy to understand and enjoyable. I look forward to studying more about enzymes in the near future and incorporating enzyme education into my health seminars.
