Three young women are determined to make their secret fantasies come true in a trio of novellas that follows Catherine, Kallie, and Gina as they set out to make their dreams come to life over the course of a year. Original. 25,000 first printing.
Janice Maynard came to the writing life early! When her third grade short story, “The Princess and the Robbers”, won a red ribbon in a school arts fair, Janice was hooked. She followed up that early success with a more commercial piece in the sixth grade… “Why My Mom Loves To Drink Coke”. No advance for that one, but she won a six-pack of Coke… remember those great little bottles?
In junior high Janice began circulating her work to a wider audience. A dozen or so notebook pages stapled together made the rounds in some particularly boring classes, with the riveting tales carefully hidden behind textbooks.
High school meant the big time… editor of the school newspaper, the Maroon and White. Janice used her insightful editorials to delve into such meaty subjects as “locker room odor” and “why we need two-ply tissue in the student bathrooms”.
College brought lots of writing, but very little of it creative… four years later, Janice stepped into the adult world as a fully certified elementary teacher.
Despite motherhood, full-time employment, and keeping up with an “always into something” husband, Janice never lost her love of writing or the desire to be published. In 1996 she realized her long-time dream when Kensington Publishing bought her first book, Sweetheart. That exciting moment was followed by the sales of two more books in the Precious Gem line.
In the fall of 2002, Janice left the classroom to pursue writing full-time.
Quite juicy! It's a very quick read, even for me. It's about 3 women's sexual encounters. The writing is very detailed. I liked it. If you are a timid person, this book may be too much for you....but then I would suggest reading it anyways to learn a thing or two! :)
It all begins with three best friends a birthday dinner, a champagne toast, and a pact to make their deepest fantasies come true before their thirtieth birthday. That means they each have one year to make their naughtiest fantasies come true. The question is whose going to cross the finish line first. Catherine the shy introverted one. She puts business before pleasure. Till she meets her special someone who treats her like a princess.Kallie is a talented artist. All she wants is a no- strings attached fling that will take her into thirty and beyond. But what she gets is a real surprise. Gina - is a former party girl, burned once too often and a little jaded. Still she's a little reckless, and a strict non believer in love until while on a getaway cruise she runs into the man who broke her heart years ago.Now he's back and Gina still wants him in the worst way.... A fun romantic read. I look forward to reading more books by Janice Maynard
Boring and utterly predictable, 'Play With Me' follows three girlfriends on a quest to shake up their love lives before they turn thirty. Each woman chooses a man to seduce, only to discover the guy was already in love with her. As you can imagine, none of them had to try too hard and within a short period of time, each is either engaged or married.
It's a good book. Definitely seems too perfect, like there's no flaws. The stories are cute and has some steam that does indeed rise from the pages. I have to admit it didn't do much for me. Recommend if you're in for some good short stories. 3/5 stars.
Three stories of three female friends who make a pact on their 29th birthday. They each has a crush & decide to go after him by their 30th birthdays. Surprise, each guy is also attracted to the woman going after him. There is a bit of hesitation with each but girl gets guy & hot sex.
Janice gives us three stories of three females who decide to give in to each of their deepest darkest fantasies one year before each has her thirtieth birthday. Go for it!! So hot.
Oh-my-gosh! This book starts out red hot! I am going to have to be careful where I read ! The first girl & guy are believable, the other 2 - not so much.
