Excellent book. My mother's side of the family were some of the fabled Pioneers that came to Oregon in the 19th century. I grew up in Idaho but now live in Oregon so I feel like a transplant and I have lived in the state off and on for 20 years.

Welch is an excellent writer and recalling his days growing up in Corvallis are fabulous. Anyone who has a soft spot for the sporting goods stores of yesteryear hits a home run for me.

This is a wonderfully written book by Bob Welch who writes for the Eugene Register Guard newspaper. This is a collection of published articles Bob Welch wrote over the years. It has just the right amount of warmth, witticism and poignancy. I highly recommend this well-written collection of stories.
