Velvet & Sins

Rate this book
Velvet City promised a fresh start, a place to finally settle down and call home. And for a while, it seemed like that's exactly what it was.

Until everything changed.

I shouldn’t have gone to that floor during my shift.
I shouldn’t have seen what I saw.
And most of all—I should have run away as fast as possible.

But I was too reckless, too sure of myself, allowing myself to be captured by one man that everyone in this city feared.

The King.
The Monster.
The Boogeyman that ruled Velvet City.

And to make matters worse, he wasn’t the only one I should’ve feared.

But in the middle of all the madness, running and contemplating my life, I slowly realized that they weren’t my ruin.

In fact, they might just be my salvation in a world gone mad. If we could all survive the chaos that threatened to consume us, perhaps we could find a way to build a new future together.

VELVET & SINS is an MMF Dark Romance Novella, dealing with themes that might not be suitable for readers under the age of 18. It is also a spin-off novella from the Sins of Ophelia Aster series.

The full list of triggers can be found at the beginning of the book.

L.K. Reid is a dark romance author who hates slow walkers and people being mean for no reason.

In her opinion, Halloween should be a public holiday, and she also has a small obsession with all things historical—especially Greek mythology. During high school, she wanted to be an archaeologist, and ended up studying law, but obviously neither one of those professions worked out.

If she isn’t writing, she’s most probably watching horror movies, listening to music, reading, or plotting upcoming books.

My baby Kill 🥺🥺🥺🖤🖤🖤

Let me say i didn’t have the best relationship with him.... i hated him and his behaviours more than once. However the more I knew about him, about his demons, the more I wanted for him happiness.
And he finally have his HEA 😍😍😍
He finally found two amazing lovers: someone who are able to understand him, cherish him, love him, and even calling him out when he is acting like an idiot.

I didn’t expect for his story to turn in a MMF, but f*ck me if I didn’t enjoy it!!! More than that, I FREAKING LOVED IT!! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm a goner for this kind of menage and the three of them are so perfect for each other... they really made me swoon.

In a few pages L.K Reid gave us adrenaline, pain, lust, love, humor, angst.... there's everything you could want in a book with the usually deepness that mark Leila' writing.

Another winning for L.K Reid, and something you definitely don’t want to miss, trust me 😌🤭

P.s. Evelyn is my f*cking heroine!!! She understand it all 😂😂🔥
The girl got two hot men wrapped around her finger!!! YOU GO, GIRL!!

Returning to old characters and beginning a new story. This is Cillian’s story and takes place after the events of Sins of Ophelia Aster. Here we have a quick background about the new life Cillian takes and how he manages with leadership. At the same time, Tristan messes up every plan and starts to ultrapass some limits that leaves Cillian with no choices. In the middle of this chaos, Cillian is confronted with your desires and secrets and starts to see that he needs to protect who he loves (yes, in plural). I love the friendship and love between Cillian and Chris (that was the highlight in the book for me). I like the story, even quickly at times, it is a good story to read (and yeah, now I want a book for Kieran too).

My love since the beginning.

If you read Sins of Ophelia you would have meet Cillian.
Since the first book I wanted his story, needed to know him more.
And now we have it.
It’s a short introduction into his life, his addiction, his brothers and his best friend Christian.
He’s got his struggles, Kieran isn’t speaking to him and his younger brother Tristen has betrayed him and his family. Tristen wants revenge and Cillian just wants to save his brother.
Tristen is a ghost up to know good. He sets cillian up and Evelyn ends up in his path.
She sees more than she should.
So what does cillian do. He kidnaps her.
You guys know I love this world. You don’t have to read Ophelia books to understand this at all. I recommend it though obviously. Because you learn how caring Cillian is but you also see his dark side. The side that in this book comes to light. Why he struggles so much, what happens to him. His life away from that family.
I absolutely love him. I wish his story was longer. He is now head of the bratva and he controls his own city, he stand on his own away from the power of his family. This story is very fast paced which I loved.
I hope L.K adds to this one though.

This was basically my first ever mmf read. I have tried before and dnf lol.
With this I melted lol. Cillian, Christian and Evelyn together are sizzling hot. The one thing I have found about these types of books is the sex takes over completely and the plots lake massively. This doesn’t, the plot is solid as their… you know what’s lol.

Loved being back in this world.
And I can’t wait for more.

I was beyond excited that we got more from Cillian after everything that has happened in the past, I was hoping he would find what made me whole and he does. When certain events have Cillian out looking for someone who is causing him chaos it leads him to Evelyn and once he sets eyes on her he is pretty much a goner. Cillian is this amazing bad @$$ who runs this city, but he is haunted by his past that won’t go away. I loved this story of how a broken man is so intense and has a tough exterior suffers the way a lot do, internally. Cillian and Christian have known each other for years and have been friends since day one, but Cillian has always hidden his feelings from Christian. The story focuses mostly on the relationship between them and their history has them fighting feelings for so long you just know they belong together, so it was a tad hard for me to believe that Evelyn was just all in and everyone was all in love instantly. The story is hot and has so much to it, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of Evelyn’s just because she was all scared one second looking to run away and hide then for a real small amount of time, she was fierce and all in with the guys. I just loved the history between the guys more because it seemed more realistic that they had these feelings for so long. Overall, this was a quick read and I love the suspense aspect that will have me devouring more of their story, but I honestly could do without Evelyn.

5★ 2.5🌶️ dark romance ◦ novella ◦ MMF

If you didn’t know this already I am OBSESSED with L.K. Reid’s books. I think I have 1 more book to read in her back log. One of my favorite things about L.K. books is that her books are all interconnected. (If you do decide to jump into a different series it’s ok, I think I’ll make a where to start graphic to help new L.K. Reid books. Stay tuned.) You get little updates of past characters and V&S is no exception.

Velvet & Sins is a novella about Cillian who we meet from Ophelia Aster’s series. He was emotionally fxcked up from his endless amounts of family drama. He was dealing with it by self medicating with drugs and alcohol.

While trying to clean up the streets of Velvet City from his malicious brother he has an encounter with Evelyn. They are kindred spirits both struggling with their past. They have a connection but aren’t sure how to express it. But Cillian has a secret he has kept from his best friend Chris. Chris helps them both with healing and teaches them they are both worth loving.

I absolutely loved this book and going back to see how Kill was doing after Ophelia’s story. And L.K always knows how to bring the spice! I can’t wait to see if L.K. goes back to these three.

I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
In the blurb the author (L.K. Reid – new author for me) refers to this book as a dark MMF romance. The DARK was definitely there. However, in my opinion calling this a romance may have been a bit of a stretch.

The book starts out with MC # 1 Cillian Nightingale walking through the lobby of a hotel that he owns, on his way up to his penthouse apartment. He is trying not to be noticed as he prefers for the hotel staff not to really know what he looks like, and he doesn’t want his customers knowing much about him either. As he walks through the lobby a particular female employee catches his eye. She’s tall, blonde, curvy, and wears her business suit with a confidence he admires. As he’s trying to be discreet he doesn’t speak to her, but simply hurries on his way. On arrival to his penthouse, he discovers a body. He also finds a note confirming for Cillian who the killer was. Did I mention that Cillian is a mob boss?

As Cillian is trying to leave he encounters the same woman that caught his eye downstairs. Her name is Evelyn Laurier and she’s one of the hotel managers. She was curious/suspicious as to why someone she didn’t recognize was lurking through the lobby of the hotel, so Evelyn followed Cillian upstairs. The two meet up in the hall just outside the Penthouse. Cillian and Ellen get a good look at each other, she tries to speak to him, and then Cillian beats a hasty retreat. Evelyn grows concerned at this odd behavior decides to check the penthouse for security reasons. When Evelyn finds the dead body, she put two-and-two together. She now realizes who she had just met in the hallway and she knows his reputation. Uh-Oh.

We don’t meet our 3rd MC, Christian until Chapter 5. He’s also mobbed up, in fact he’s one of Cillian’s inner circle. By this time Cillian has kidnapped Evelyn to make sure she doesn’t say any more to the cops than she already has. Christian understands the reasoning, and agrees with it, but doesn’t like the fact that Cillian is attracted to Evelyn. Not that he disagrees with Cillian’s assessment, after all he’s not blind and Evelyn is HOT. It’s just that Christian has a secret crush on his boss.

Does any of this scenario sound Romantic to you? Mob Boss kidnaps attractive Sexy Witness who can identify him. Witness is fearing for her life but is still physically attracted to Mob Boss. Mob Boss’s # 2 has been carrying a candle for Mob Boss, but shares Mob Boss’s carnal interest in Sexy Witness. To me this just SCREAMS dysfunctional.

I almost DNF’d this mess. But I don’t feel right about doing that to new-to-me authors so I stuck with it. Once the 3-way sex-fest was firmly established there did actually get to be some real emotions involved and the three of them really did start to gel as a true item. Unfortunately, by the time Cillian, Evelyn and Christian decided that they were all really liking each other I was pretty much fed up with them.

If you like reading angry sex and believe that loathing can turn in to love, then this book will be right up your alley. For me? Not so much.

"Tonight I would show them all why they needed to fear Cillian Nightingale."

I really loved this book!!!!!! MUST READ IF YOU HAVE READ THE RAPTURE SERIES!
First I want to say that I did read the Ophelia series before this novella so I know all about Cillian and Tristian's beef. With that being said, I don't necessarily think this is a standalone. Maybe if LK Reid had an arc reader come in that hadn't read any of the others beforehand, they may have told LK that some parts confused them. Like why Cillian was at war with his brother in the first place and the whole back story. It wasn't until about 75% in that you start to get a feel for why all this is happening. You dont FULLY understand and see what Tristian did and how he betrayed everyone unless you read the books before but I think maybe by adding a brief chapter that had a memory of what happened that summed it up would have honestly cleared up any confusion.
The only reason I had given this 4 stars and not 5 stars is simply because I am not a big fan of insta-love. And this book had that in spades when it came to Evelyn and Cillian. It seemed like the second he laid eyes on her he fell in love and the minute she was taken to his house everything that was done prior was out the window and she was in love. I know alot of people LOVE stories like that but I just have never been one to like that trope. It is my least favorite but still, even though insta-love is my least favorite kind, this book was AMAZING!!! I LOVED EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT IT!!
The sex in this book. WOW. DOUBLE WOW. TRIPLE WOW. The sex connection between Evelyn and Cillian was so magnetic it was ELECTRFYING, but once Christian came into the mix it was done for. I had to take a couple breaks and this was a NOVELLA. I had to take breaks reading a novella because the sex was so hot between these three! CAN YOU IMAGINE!?
Cillian was such a force, such a tough man but the second he was in the bedroom with Christian it was like he gave up all control and let someone else have it for once. He let himself be vulnerable and I loved seeing that side of himself. And I absolutely without a doubt LOVED the way Christian loved Cillian. He was so patient and kind and was there for him and Eve through it all. UGH, CHRISTIAN WAS EVERYTHING!!!
And Evelyn, she was.....I can't put into words how much I loved her character. She went through so much hardship with her ex-husband and it makes me sad that there are men out there like that everyday in our society. But she has nothing to fear now because she has two sexy big men to protect her. The ending was just perfect in every way. With the three of them in the epilogue and even with Tristain. I am glad it ended that way with him and no other way. Such a great writer, I love this author and the way they write their worlds SO much! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT SERIES OR BOOK!!!

DISCLAIMER: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love MMF so much and i'm so glad romance books like this one exist. Now, you got to be in the right mood to truly enjoy it. It's a dark romance, it's kinda mafia-y, so there are some things that are not super realistic but trust me, just let go and enjoy the ride.

One thing that i need to really insist on is how Ev is an amazing female character and how i wished more female MC were written like her. She's strong without being annoying, she's mature, and she's kind without being overbearing. She's a female MC that i truly want to take as an example and that did not once made me roll my eyes or sigh, and that's refreshing.

Cillian was amazing, i want to hug him and tell him he's loved and deserves the world but thankfully he's got two amazing people doing it for him.

Christian was a bit of a surprise. We don't know that much about him and i wished we had more POVs from him. Some pieces of his background felt a little dropped out of nowhere but maybe it's because i didn't read the other books from this universe. It was harder for me to get attached to him even though by the end of the book I had totally fell for him aaah

The smut was really really good. MMF is not easy to write but the author did a great job. These three characters fit together (physically and emotionally haha) really well and it was a joy to read both the love scenes and the dialogues between them as they figured things out. It was the perfect balance of drama and mature thinking.

The plot was well crafted too. This book is not long but you have just enough action to make it stand as more than just MMF smut.

I truly recommend it and it made me want to read more from this author :)

Not your average mafia story...

Cillian Nightingale is a man you don't want to cross.. so what happens if you see him leaving the scene of a murder? He kidnaps you, of course.
What was supposed to be damage control turns into collateral. He can't stay away from this green eyed beauty, Evelyn.
They both are broken and want something more. They are able to tap into those hidden desires and bring out the best in eachother.. which results in him submitting to her.❤️‍🔥
Lines are blurred and truths are told, which results in a steamy MMF romance, with family drama, angst, spice, action, and resolving past traumas.

💭💭💭:
This book was VERY spicy. At one point, I was wondering where the plot was, but things came together just fine and it was a solid story. I was NOT expecting this mafia boss to become a submissive in the bedroom.. but I'm not complaining at all. That was 🔥🔥🔥.

●“I don’t know what it is about you,” he rasped between the kisses, between every push of his hips against my core, “But I need you,” he groaned. “God, I need you.”●

I WAS thrown off at first, with the instalove. I prefer a little bit of a slower burn, especially in a mafia romance.
Cillian kidnapped Evelyn, she saw him leave a murder scene.. you'd think she should be scared for her life, but she's practically jumping on this man. I needed more buildup, personally.

I did heavily relate to Evelyn, though.

●My mom always told me I often went for the broken ones because I recognized in them what I always carried deep inside my heart.●

There were a few times I felt myself cringing, especially when they were giving eachother nicknames very early on. Again, it probably has to do with the instalove, but if that's your jam, then you'll love it.💕

The story starts off in a hotel and there’s been a murderrrrr. All Evelyn sees is a man all in black and a dead body, and she wonders why it needs to happen on her managerial shift. She’s tired, and there’s blood everywhere. But when it’s time to act as witness to the murder, she withholds information…very crucial parts. Why does she do this?
———
L.K. Reid is really a talented writer. Through the initial quarter of the book, I was sucked into this hotel scene. I pictured a modernized hotel with Art Deco fixtures, but with wide spacious hallways that still made the hair stand up on the back of your neck when you were alone in them. Certain elements and people have control over the property, and you absolutely felt the coldness that surrounds it.

Along with Eve, our heroine, we have Cillian and Chris - the beginning stages of a throuple. They shouldn’t be involved but they are. And they fight those strong feelings as best as they can.

Some of the characters are crossovers to the Sins of Ophelia Aster series, that I have not personally read, but I was still able to follow along with who the crossover characters were and what they did to get to this point. Even though this is a novella, L.K. packs in a ton of descriptive detail so you can follow along and not be confused, but still having you WANT to go back and read the prior books because you’re curious of the Before to your After.

This throuple was put through it. But do they come out swinging in the end?

Read it to find out!

This had such a surprising twist in the MMF dynamic, which gave this novella an extra bit of umph. Even though I thought I knew where this was going when Cillian kidnapped Evelyn after she caught him at the scene of a crime, it was way better than I was expecting and something completely different. Okay, you may have to suspend belief that she could develop feelings for a man who had basically taken her hostage and could kill her at any moment, but perhaps that’s what added that extra thrill for Evelyn too. Nonetheless, I loved how Cillian and Evelyn, who were both damaged individuals, found solace in each other. But while Cillian and Evelyn had that immediate spark, Cillian and Christian had been secretly pining for each for years. Interestingly, despite some initial animosity, Evelyn seemed to bring Cillian and Christian closer and when they were all together, I loved the way all three clicked. Though I don’t usually read MM romances, there was something sweet and powerful about C/C’s interactions, albeit it was VERY unusual in a mafia-type setting. Because this is a spin-off from a previous series, there were references to previous events, which were a bit confusing unless you’d read the previous books, nevertheless this can still be enjoyed on its own merits.

There is an interesting story in there but the characters just didn't keep me engaged. It's a promising and exciting start with Evelyn discovering a dead body in a hotel and watching Cillian flee from the scene, but I felt robbed of who Evelyn really was. Evelyn is a survivor and her story is heartbreaking. However, one minute she's this vulnerable woman and next she's dominant in the bedroom which felt jarring and disjointed distracting me from her authenticity as a character.

Cillian, known as The Boogeyman, is introduced as a menacing mob boss with a terrible upbringing. However, the discovery of his submissive nature came across as unsuited to the credibility of his character.

Enter Christian. Cillian's best friend and his second in command who seems to be added as a filler. His unrequited love for Cillian, concealed for years, takes a significant turn upon Evelyn's arrival and unfortunately, his character's background is almost non-existent.

The whole story is fast-paced with lots of spice and not enough of the captivating plot regarding Cillian's brother. I felt there was a lot I was missing about Cillian's dysfunctional family dynamic.

Thank you to Ms. Reid for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This book very much gave off Steamy Rapunzel but dark, and I’m not complaining. At approximately 180 pages, Velvet & Sins twists a thrilling story of romance and violence, with an even balance of plot and character. If you enjoy Insta-love mafia-esque stories, read this!

The romance in this book escalated from zero to a hundred like my anger issues. Seriously — you blink, you’ll miss it. It’s very insta-love, a trope I rarely read, but wow, the chemistry between these characters!

Given the page count, the pacing is very fast; so much so that there is barely time for the characters to develop. One second the female protagonist would be scared — literally trembling, heart racing, please-don’t-kill-me-I’m-begging-you scared, and the next second she is in control, the person threatening her mere moments ago now wrapped around her finger. It’s simply too sudden.

If I could make a single suggestion for this book, it would be to make it longer; pace it slower to allow the characters to fully develop and the plot unravel.

Final rating: 4 stars.

DAMN! This was a deliciously spicy, quick read story, that I freaking loved!! It was packed with emotional turmoil, drama, violence and heartbreaking moments.

Cillian has always been a very tormented character. He carries around some dark demons that continually torture his mind everyday. When he reveals parts of his past and parts of the trauma he went through as a child, I think I finally understood him and his need to drown out his demons.

Even though he kidnaps Evelyn, there is an instant connection between them. Almost like their similar demons pulled them together. They have this intensity and sexual tension building between them that is slowly turning into a fast-burning inferno, which is verging on exploding into an absolute wild and uncontrollable fire! And then when you add in Christian to the mix, the blaze burning between the three of them is unstoppable.

I loved this story and every sweet and deliciously steamy moment of it. Plus, the little twists and turns throughout kept me gripping my kindle tightly and turning the pages quickly to see if there was going to be some kind of HEA at the end.

Loved it!!

There is a wealth of duality in the characters in this book. The fmc is an abuse survivor with a dominant streak, a fighter who runs away, too. The mmc is a feared organized crime boss, but a man who uses drugs and alcohol to escape his submissive secret. There are 3 other men who are also involved in the story, and they are just as conflicted.

The MMF relationship here is a little different than most books I've read. The story starts with an MF couple with the woman as the dominant partner and then adds an even more dominant male best friend. There is instant lust and longtime love playing equal roles.

I felt a little off kilter with the story. The characters, like people in real life, are multi-faceted and it just makes everything that much more interesting. The author notes that this book will be expanded in the future. Delving into the characters' backgrounds should help settle the story.

This is a standalone book, and there is an HEA, including epilogue. Look for these characters in other books by the same author.

OMG! Wow this book was definitely astonishing to read, the story was mesmerising while the characters were really captivating. This story was about Evelyn, Cillian and Christian, this place should be their home to settle down. Cillian is always blaming himself for what happened with his family and another family member blame him aswell not knowingthe full story. Evelyn has witnessed something she shouldn't have so Cillian keeps her close and over time they start having feelings for each other. Christian and Cillian have been good friends for years Christian has had feelings for Cillian for some time but hides his feelings not knowing how Cillian feels. Cillian is so confused he has had a secret crush on Christian but doesn't know if it's real. Things keep happening to Cillian and who ever it is wants him in jail to suffer and then Evelyn goes missing how will Cillian take that. There was a lot of emotions throughout this book.

'Velvet & Sins' takes you on a short but intense journey into Cillian's life, his addiction, and his struggles with his family and his own demons.

Cillian kidnaps Evelyn after she accidentally witnesses one of his activities, leading to a hot and sizzling mmf romance with his best friend Christian. Even though it's part of the "Sins of Ophelia" series, it can be read independently and still elicits an emotional rollercoaster ride.

The book has a solid and gripping plot beyond steamy scenes, making it a more than satisfying read. Cillian is a character you will root for, a man with a heart of gold and a dark past that shapes him. The story alludes to a new era, where Cillian takes the lead of the Bratva and becomes head of his city.

If you love the "Sins of Ophelia" books or the genre, this book is definitely a must-read.

This is the first time I've read L. K. Reid. This novella did not disappoint. Evelyn is a domestic abuse survivor. Cillian was assaulted as a child. Christian and Cillian grew up together as friends and now work together. Cillian is a Mafia boss who has been trying to undo and stop his brother Tristan. Evelyn works at the hotel Cillian owns. She sees something she shouldn't have. Cillian kidnaps her instead of killing her. They soon realize their attraction to one another. This starts off great, enter Christian. He and Cillian have been ignoring their mutual attraction for years. The chemistry between the three of them is 🔥. I loved getting to know these characters. This can be read as a stand alone. With that being said I am going to be reading Sins of Ophelia Aster to learn more about Cillian and Christian.

Evelyn needed a fresh start, a place to finally settle down and call home. And she thought she’d found it, Until everything changed. She saw something she shouldn’t have. Her mothers voice in her head “you say nothing, you saw nothing”.
But she did see it.. and the cops are asking questions. She knows it’s time to leave before they find her too..
buts she’s too late. He’s already waiting for her.
Yet In the middle of all the madness, she realises that maybe they might just be her salvation in a world gone mad.

4⭐️ this was a quick read and jam packed full of action. Heavy on the smut. It was an ok read but probably not one I’d look further into

⛔️TW/CW. Abuse, pregnancy loss. substance abuse, mentions of rape and kidnapping. This is a MMF dark romance so also means there’s some swords crossing.

It is also a spin-off novella from the Sins of Ophelia Aster series.

This was such a good story. I was so happy that we were getting Cillian's story. If your not familiar with him he's from the Sins of Ophelia series, which you don’t have to have read the series to understand this book, but if you haven't read the series you definitely need to it's so good.
Talk about being in the wrong place in the wrong time that's how Evelyn's feeling about now as she's a witness to a murder, and to make thing's even better she gets kidnapped by the King himself Cillian Nightingale known as the boogeyman. This is a short introduction to Cillian life from his brothers, to his addiction and his best friend Christian who he's secretly had a thing for, but as thing's progress these 3 get closer and boy the sexy times are hot up in here mercy. You just need to read it and find out for yourself. It’s so good.

This book was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Though it was on the shorter side it still had so much depth to it. I was so happy that i was able to read this book in just one sitting because i know that i wouldn't have been able to put it down. Evelyn was such a strong FMC and i enjoyed seeing her grow in her strength with the help of her men. Said men... OMG. They have my whole entire heart. I just can't believe that so much happened in a small book. AND THE PLOT. I haven't read the Sins of Ophelia Aster book and even though this can be read as a standalone i wish i had a little more context. But that just means i need to go back and read it. Because i need more of L.K. Reids books and i need them now! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book won’t be for everyone as it’s very MMF with more focus on the MM story. I don’t really mind those scenes so much but when the majority of the book is totally consumed with the sex scenes it becomes monotonous for me. Christian is my favorite character between the three of them as Cillian is just too immature and whiny in my opinion. Evelyn is a bit wishy washy and I never knew what to expect from her. One minute she was a terrified shaking in her boots female then the next she was super badass lady. She just wasn’t consistent enough to bring levity to the story. I’m afraid I have to disagree with the author that this is a standalone novella. So much of this book related directly to previous books which made me feel quite lost at times.

This book is my first read by this talented writer. I was engrossed by it from the first moment. It's well-written with a captivating narrative.

This storyline is an easy read dominated by dark characters and spicy scenes.

Evelyn and Cillian were very fascinating characters, and to add to this, when Christian came into the picture, it was a tremendous bonus.

My favourite part in the book was the inner dialogues and struggles from Cillian as this added a more realistic element to this dark plot.

The flow of this story is engaging and you will gasp for air with their sassy encounters.

I loved this storyline and I recommend it to everyone in this genre!

If you've been following the Sins of Ophelia Series you'll already know some of these characters and their back story, and I was SO HAPPY Kill finally got his HEA 😍

This is an MMF novella with smut to make your kindle sizzle 🔥🔥

Evelyn is at the wrong place at the wrong time, stumbling across a crime scene and turning into a witness that Cillian needs to dispose of, but once she's in his clutches he just can't resist the pull towards her

Christian and Cillian have always had a bond from childhood that they've ignored, but when tension brings them together my god it's worth it 🥵

Seeing these three characters overcoming their demons together was just beautiful and I loved how they all knew what each other needed 🥹🖤

I really needed short read. This is absolutely that. It hit the spot just right..
The spicy scene were incredible. The story itself you feel absolute heartache for the characters and what the have and are going through.

I do wish it had more of a storyline included, although i am absolutely here for the spice so i can not fault that!
I also would have liked for Cillian to tell Ev his full story as she shared so much and it would have been nice for him to just share everything.

The ending... nope. I am not okay. The particular moment when she is stuck in the situation with two men, i felt that.
I loved how it became a RH, and honestly an overall really nice read.

Definitely interested in reading more by this Author!!

Everything in this book just went way too fast. One minute Cillian is a guy who has to get rid of a possible witness, the next he's showing her his toy collection. THEY JUST MET. Evelyn is also all over the place, at first she's this terrified-for-her-life-run-away-immediately girl, understandable, but the very next minute and I do mean the very next minute she's this dominant badass character??? I didn't like this book, in reality this deserved 2 stars but I gave it 3 stars for its potential, it could've been something to enjoy honestly. It could've been.

Evelyn was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Disbelieving what she sees, she tells the police nothing. She returns home with a plan to flee. Cillian rules Velvet City and is waiting for her at home. She tells him she said nothing but he does not believe her. Taking her captive, they discover an fierce attraction. Enter Chris, Cillian's best friend who loves him in secret. As these three try to keep each other safe, Tristan is in the background reeking havoc. When danger comes, these three know their feelings are the real thing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was my fifth short story and I decided novellas/short stories just aren't for me. But I thought it was a really good story. I just missed connecting with the characters because everything has to go so fast.

This book is classified as 'not part of a series'. I haven't read the Sins of Ophelia Aster series. And I noticed that it was necessary to understand Cillian and Tristan.

But neverlessly I loved the chemistry between Cillian, Evelyn and Christian. I loved that they opened up so quickly to each other. And I'm so happy that hey have an HEA.

So it's definitely worth 4 stars. If this was a full length story it would have been a 5 stars.
