The changes between this and the original novel continue to be fascinating, mostly in terms of how Nakamura's daughter died, because while the novel killed her via alcohol poisoning (making the club look most guilty from a peer pressure standpoint), the manga's death by drowning implicates them all in a more concrete way. I do think that makes it a good change for this format, or at least one that I can appreciate as things draw closer and closer to their end.

No hay chance que a) el asesino sea Seiji (porque sino alto embole) y b) los dos que quedaron hayan muerto. No sólo eso, sino que uno de esos es Van aka my prime suspect... dale carajo último volumen para ver si mi intuición estaba acertada o no.

With the population down to three of the Decagoners (where was that pun three volumes ago!?), tensions are on the rise and the clues start to pile up faster than the bodies for a change. Suddenly it looks like the most obvious solution is the right one, which naturally means that it definitely isn’t…
The old penultimate section of any mystery serves as the build-up before the climax and keeping the driving action through this part is always a bit of a challenge, as the reader knows that the big denouement is coming and can be stuck waiting for it to arrive.
This volume threads that needle pretty well, though not perfectly, and gets into some pretty wild swings even as the important parts of the past are revealed. There’s a little too much crazy, but that’s to be expected in a story like this and a place like Decagon House.
There is some great deduction here that I do like, as the survivors try and piece together just what is going on. I’m normally left flat by deductions based on maps and geography, but the manga really makes this easy to follow.
When the trick behind one of the previous deaths is revealed, it’s an absolutely clever bit of business that I thought was brilliant and believably easy to overlook, so big points for that, even if said clue is put to some wild uses later. Some of these tricks are less clever, but one great one is all you need.
There are enough questions posed while answering others that this section of the story works pretty well. Once you run low on victims you do tend to get diminishing returns and the murder this volume is a bit thin, but that’s just me being picky.
The action back on the mainland is arguably more interesting, as we finally get the truth behind the infamous boat trip via a confession from beyond the grave (nice touch). The climax of this volume is a great bit of intercutting between a creepy exploration on the island and the revelation back on the mainland that… well… that would be telling, now wouldn’t it?
As a means to whet your appetite before all the revelations come pouring in, it’s brilliantly done. And, as alluded to, the volume spends a lot of time breaking down a reasonable solution that therefore cannot be correct, since mystery, and that is always one of my favourite things in a whodunnit (Lord Edgware Dies is the best example of this ever, where Hercule Poirot uses it to troll somebody).
If you don’t like a story that is straight out of the Agatha Christie mould, I don’t know how you made it this many volumes in, but if you do, this is an homage that gets it right for the most part and has been a good read. It’s not perfect, but it gets far more right than its few weak spots or brief narrative lulls.

Can't believe the manga adaptation is actually making me like Ellery. Also I guess I'll write a lazy review of the entire adaptation so far (there's a fifth volume that hasn't been translated to English yet) here. It diverges a fair bit from the original novel, but I find that it's still interesting. The manga also somehow made me like the story more, which usually doesn't happen with me. The characters seem to have also been changed a bit, especially Kawaminami, but I surprisingly don't mind that too much. Anyway uhhh...yeah that's all I have to say. I can't form coherent thoughts at the moment. If you want an actual review you won't find it here.

AVISO: Esta reseña contiene spoilers del primer volumen de Los asesinatos de la mansión decagonal, un manga en el que nos trasladamos a una isla junto a los miembros del club de misterio. Pero sus investigaciones sobre un asesinato de hace años terminan de manera desafortunada y, sin medios para marchar de la isla, deben tratar de descubrir lo que ha ocurrido…
Tras la muerte de dos de los miembros del Club de Misterio, la tensión se palpa en Tsunojima. Fuera de la isla, no obstante, Kawaminami y Shimada siguen con su investigación y sospechan que el verdadero padre de Chiori no era Seiji Nakamura, sino su hermano Kôjirô. Tras visitarlo, Shimada arranca a Kôjirô la confesión de que todo se trató de un asesinato-suicidio llevado a cabo por el mismo Seiji tras la muerte de Chiori.
Aunque en este tomo se nos desvelan nuevos datos y la acción se acelera al final, en general me ha parecido el tomo más flojo de todos. La parte de la isla avanza de forma muy lenta y eso entorpece un poco la lectura, aunque comprenda que pueda ser para mantener la intriga en la historia. Mientras, la parte de fuera de la isla es muy breve y, aunque lo agradezco porque llegó a ser demasiado en alguno de los otros tomos, sí creo que habría ayudado a no sobrecargar de tensión el resto, ya que todavía nos quedan cosas por descubrir en el exterior.
El dibujo sigue siendo sublime y cómo poco a poco se va desgranando el misterio me gusta muchísimo. Sin embargo, no puedo quitarme de encima la sensación de que casi no ha pasado nada en este volumen y, siendo el penúltimo tomo, esperaba un poco más para no sobrecargar el último. Sólo queda esperar para leer toda la acción que estoy segura que nos aguarda en el último tomo de esta interesante serie.

Je suis ce manga avec beaucoup d’intérêt. Il s’agit d’un thriller psychologique certes assez classique dans sa construction, mais qui m’accroche autant pour son suspense que pour ses dessins incroyables !
Dans ce quatrième tome, tout s’accélère à une vitesse folle ici ! Il ne reste plus beaucoup de survivants et il est temps de mettre toutes les théories sur la table pour tenter de s’en sortir et surtout de savoir qui est le véritable meurtrier.
Les rebondissements sont légion et les doutes persistent. Cependant, l’heure des révélations a également sonné lorsqu’on découvre le lien entre les étudiants et la jeune fille décédée l’an passé. Il suffit alors d’assembler les pièces du puzzle pour commencer à comprendre. C’est quand même bien fichu et haletant. Je l’admets, je suis assez bon publique alors je me prête assez facilement au jeu. Jusqu’au bout, j’ai moi aussi mes propres théories grâce aux éléments recueillis avec la camarade restée sur place en métropole. Quant à la fin de ce tome, elle se termine sur un sacré cliffhanger et j’ai autant hâte que j’appréhende d’avoir le dénouement de cette histoire. Y aura-t-il au moins un seul survivant de cette expédition sur l’île du décagone ? Je suis curieuse de la savoir !
En bref. J’ai passé un bon moment avec cette suite qui a très bien fait son office et m’a tenu en haleine jusqu’au bout.

Dos asesinatos mas dejan a los tres amigos restantes en la isla con muchas dudas y a la defensiva de todo lo que pasa:
Asi que empiezan a analizar uno por uno de los homicidios , pero inesperadamente la quinta víctima aparece y el tiempo se les ha terminado. Nuevamente en la isla hay un crimen sin resolver.

Oh cada vez van quedando menos personas, pero aunque se van resolviendo algunos aspectos aun quedan varios misterios.
la parte de los lentes de Leroux, me dio cierto sentimiento. Las muertes 4 y 5 aunque por así decirlo, menos violentas, me parecen perturbadoras por la premeditación y la espera.
En cuanto a la muerte de Chiori, aun me queda una duda, que no logre entender del todo, lo hicieron con conciencia del hecho de lo que pasaría o no lo sabían, pero aun así se sienten culpables. Por la reacción de Kawaminami me inclino por la primera, y su enojo, pero siento que en esa parte, a mi parecer queda ambiguo. no lo se, talvez solo para mi.
Lo del detalle extraño en la casa decagonal, no lo esperaba, aunque en cierta forma, siento que lo había visto en otra historia, aparte de que siempre he sentido un poco de incomodidad por las arquitecturas demasiado excéntricas y hostiles.
En esta parte también nos da una nueva victima por lo que ya no encajaría, lo de un sobreviviente del mansión.
Aparte siento que Shimada se ha dado cuenta de algo mas.
Solo queda un tomo y estoy impaciente por saber como concluirá. Con lo ultimo que ha sucedido tengo mi ultima teoría.

Ora non ho più alcun sospettato! Niente di fondato a cui assegnare la colpa!
Mamma mia quanto è avvincente questa storia. Mi manca solo più un ultimo capitolo e l'avrò conclusa. Sono in ansia e piena di adrenalina. Tutto ciò è quello che riesce a trasmettere questo libro: voglia pura di capire che cappero è successo alla villa decagonale.
Come struttura in sé mi ricorda molto "Dieci piccoli indiani" di Agatha Christie. Meraviglioso.🫶🏻⭐

I don't like to review each vol of all the manga series that I read but just when it's a short one like this one.
I like this manga as retelling of Christie's "And Then There Were None" but when it comes to the reason of the murders in this story, I just find it unsatisfying and less intriguing.
Also, there are some elements that have been changed in this manga that are different in the original story.

ESTOY MUY CONFUNDIDA
¿Es uno de ellos o no?
A ver, lo de Chiori, ¿tenía ya puesto el chaleco cuando se lo quitaron? Porque si estaba por ahí suelto normal que lo cogiera Ellery para salvar a la que veía que se estaba ahogando. Si se lo quitó del cuerpo ya es otra cosa, pero no creo, ¿no? Osea entiendo por qué se enfadaría su familia, pero no creo que tengan todos la culpa. Si los han matado por eso no me parece motivo suficiente.
AAH QUE SOLO ME QUEDA EL ÚLTIMO.

⭐️5⭐️ Buah, increíble, que giró tan bien conseguido.🎉
Vemos dos partes en este tomo, donde mediante conclusiones e hipótesis detectivescas se averigua quién es supuestamente el asesino. 🔪
En la otra parte, encontramos un momento muy bueno, donde descubren una habitación secreta donde parece ser que el asesino se escondía. ☠️
Me a fascinado e intrigado bastante, veremos cómo continúa este Thriller fielmente influenciado por Agatha Christie.

E me rimasero 3… la via della risoluzione del caso è iniziata, gli occupanti della casa rimasti vivi analizzano i fatti fino ad ora accaduti, cercando di capire chi è il colpevole e che cosa lo spinge.
Un volume rimasto per sapere se qualcuno sopravviverà sull’isola: nella speranza che tutte le domande trovino risposta, non posso che promuovere a pieni voti questo volume che si fa leggere tutto di un fiato e ti destabilizza per come si conclude.

He tenido el mismo problema en todos los libros de la saga. Empieza bien, haciendo un poco de recapitalización, pero luego se vuelve lento, muy lento en este caso, para terminar con un final que te hace querer leerte el siguiente ya.
Pero no se libra de la puntuación, sería realmente un 2.5, pero es que me ha aburrido un poco.

I giorni passano e siamo verso le battute finali. Vengono raccolti assieme gli indizi e qualcosa sembra finalmente avere senso. Uno dei personaggi più belli graficamente, secondo me, prende iniziativa. Spero per lui che non sia morto, ma non si sa mai. Scopriamo gli altarini di questo gruppo, ed il loro segreto profondo. Speriamo nel gran finale.

I was kind of growing impatient with this but I have to say it really is improving upon the novel in at least one way, and that is in the fleshing out of the characters and the backstory. Recommended.

La historia me hace dudar porque los tomos se vuelven repetitivos, pero al mismo tiempo tienen el don de la sorpresa.
