This is a lovely series. I read all six books in less than two days. The characters are special and the stories are wonderful! I recommend this series whole heartedly!
Amazon synopsis: Jenny escapes to beautiful Mendocino Cove, the small town at the West Coast where she grew up. Here, her grandmother’s beloved seaside hotel still sits, empty and abandoned, on the corner of Beach Street and Forgotten Lane.
Despite her acclaimed research into the history of Nantucket, Jenny worries she is too old to find a job and start over. But Mendocino Cove is full of sandy beaches, enchanting morning fogs, and kind people. Soon, Jenny finds a sisterhood of women ready to help - and a childhood friend who never stopped waiting for her.
Tackling obstacles with humor and heart, Jenny gets a second chance at love - and uncovers a startling family secret!
Such an awesome story. I couldn’t put it down, but really didn’t want it to end. This is basically Faye’s story. She has a wonderful shop in an old Victorian house that she also lives in. She fears she may have to sell to pay for the repairs. On top of this her ex fiancé from years ago returns to town. This tale of love and friendship has an excellent storyline and very realistic characters. Even though part of a series, it could be read as a standalone. It’s much richer though if you read in order. I highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I love the way Nellie Brooks writes! She describes every scene with just the right amount of flair without going overboard. She sets the sex scenes where we get the idea without the blow by blow moves and sounds. The characters are believable and this whole series makes me want to move to Mendocino Cove! Nellie writes like is would expect from a very classy lady and someone with a loving heart and sweet disposition. I will be reading more of her books!
This was a good sequel for the Mendocino Cove series. It had happy moments as well as sad moments.
I really wish the author had a better proofreader. There were at least three places in this book that were clear errors. For me, that really takes something away from a story.
Faye's misfortune may have turned into a gift. She learns things about herself and the people that come into her store that she didn't know before. I am enjoying the characters, their romances and their discoveries about the past and the present.
I love this series. It's not super exciting nor are there lots of plot twists or drama, but the writing just flows so nicely and the description are not too much or too little. A thoroughly enjoyable series.
I really like all these books about Mendocino Cove. Everyone has been a joy to read. All the same people keep reappearing so you already know them. Read these books. Great relaxation!
Read The Store of Love and Loss Mendocino Cove Book 2
I loved Bk 1 of the series and Bk 2 was even better. I enjoy getting to know the characters better.I look forward to the next bk. I expect each book. To be better!

Yet another amazing, heartwarming feel-good story in this wonderful series! The friendship between the women is so inspiring! I also really like the support, understanding and love across the generations. I was devastated by what happened to Faye’s store, but I loved the way she rallied, supported by her friends and a newfound love. I had high hopes for Gabe after reading the first book, so I was very glad to see him return. Billie proves to be a stalwart friend yet again, even when she has her own loss to heal from in this book. Billie is just such a fascinating character, I love her, and I can’t wait to read her story! It’s great to see how well she gets on with her family, and I really liked that she didn’t take sides when things ended between Lex and Faye. There’s something about Lex. He has already shown personal growth. I’d like to see more of him. Jenny and Jon are the sweetest couple, and I really enjoyed seeing them be so happy together and carving out a new life. Recommend!
