Jane Hartley is determined to prevent any other orphaned dragon-shifter children from going through horrible experiences like Stonefire's newest clan member, Percy Wells. Along with Jane's mate, Kai Sutherland, she's determined to pitch her idea of clan fostering with all the clan leaders during the winter meeting on Stonefire. All of the Winter Solstice celebrations, Sid's doctor gatherings, and her own presentations she can handle, no problem. What she didn't expect was a little surprise of her own.
Join Stonefire in welcoming all the clan leaders for the winter gathering and read some updates from favorite past couples!
This is not a standalone story. It features characters from Reawakening the Dragon , Surrendering to the Dragon, Cured by the Dragon, The Dragon's Pursuit, The Dragon Guardian , and cameos from most of the past Stonefire Dragons couples and other clan leaders.
Jessie Donovan has sold over half a million books, has given away hundreds of thousands more to readers for free, and has even hit the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists. She is best known for her dragon-shifter series, but also writes about magic users, aliens, and even has a crazy romantic comedy series set in Scotland. When not reading a book, attempting to tame her yard, or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, she can often be found interacting with her readers on Facebook. She lives near Seattle, where, yes, it rains a lot but it also makes everything green.
This book was not what I was expecting but exactly what I needed. Because Jane and Kai were and still are my favorite couple in the series, followed by Killian and Brenna. I am SO HAPPY TO SEE JANE AND KAI GET THEIR HAPPY ENDING!! I have been waiting for books! For them to finally get it and I am behind thrilled it finally happened.
Favorite quote: He kissed her cheek again and whispered, "You're brilliant, Janey. But we're better together." She smiled up at him. "Yes, we are."
8.5/10 ⭐️ because the author did not leave us hanging to know the outcome of Jane and Kai’s situation! I am so happy for them!! Thank you!
I adored this story! This was such a fun one. I loved when we get a nice mix of characters in all the series coming together. We had a lot of surprises as well. The story has a big focus on Jane and Kai as Jane prepares to talk the leaders of different dragon clans to agree to take care of young dragon shifter children. Jane is passionate about the project, especially that she hasn't had a child. But things are about to change in many ways for Jane and Kai. We also get a meeting of the many doctors from the clans as well. And a surprising new pair, who I can't wait to get a story for. And another who I imagine will get a story as well. This is a fun short story that catches us up on what is currently going on with the clans and certain characters and you definitely don't want to miss it! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A fantastic rollercoaster of Happiness and Surprises!
Loved, loved, LOVED this book! One the BEST Donovan Dragon books read to date! Loved the way clans all gather together and the progresses being made with that. Even enjoyed the character "cameos" of so many together. But the storylines surprised & Fin filled Joys of Jane/Kai, Nikki/Rafe & of Kalyee- That was by far the best! Loved all of the playfulness & male growling lol & really every moment! So much so I devoured this story in just a couple hours!
I love getting a look into the lives of some of my favourite characters from previous books. This book is a window into their lives after their happily ever afters but also a great way to see how inter clan dynamics and relationships have changed since the first book "Sacrificed to the dragon". In particular how the clan doctors now come together to help eachother with health issues that arise in their clans instead of hoarding their knowledge and never talking to eachother.
Winter at Stonefire (Dragon Clan Gatherings Book 2) by Jessie Donovan. The second meeting of all the clan leaders, this time at Stonefire goes as well as the first. One of the main discussions being about taking in the orphan dragon shifters pitched by Jane when she found out she was pregnant. Not being a true mate it was almost impossible for Jane to get pregnant. In order to keep the baby she had to spend most of her pregnancy in bed rest.
Winter at Stonefire book 2 of Dragon Clan Gathering series by Jessie Donovan is an amazing read. This book is riveting and hard to put down. It’s also fun, twists and turns with the unexpected moments and surprises. I enjoy reading the ending as you get to know their future
I absolutely loved this book, especially Kai and Jane's happy ending. I always loved there story from the beginning and Kai's character overall. The interaction between the various clan leaders is also entertaining. Kaylee's story will be interesting.
I love theses clan gatherings and the glimpses of some of our old favorites lives as well as some set up for new favorites. I’m so happy for K and J and look forward to seeing where some of the orphans end up!
Another book I couldn't put down. I absolutely loved it. Babies and more babies...❤️ as promised updates and cameos from all my favorites. Looking forward to some of the new stories that were introduced.
It is always good to see the Dragon Clans we have known and come to love like family. I like the collaborations with the medical staff. Then there are two unexpected pregnancies! It was fun to read!
I anxiously await each new dragon shifter book from Jessie Donovan and this one did not disappoint. It was so much fun to catch up with some old favorites. I also loved the introduction and sneak peak to the next main characters.
It was 2 short!! I sooooo loved it and I can't believe what happened between Kai and Jannie. It was special because she had the rt thing 2 tell everyone about her good idea that everyone was behind it. And there was a extra bonus from a different place. I can't wait 4 more.
Loved this book, and the look into past couples lives. I can't wait for Masked Dragon. The epilogue when Kai and Jane's son was born and we met their adopted son made me cry. It was so sweet.
Love that this story has included a bunch of the couples we love. Kai and Jane finally having a baby of their own. And the sneak peek into the next book. Love all these stories.
Winter at Stonefire, book 2 of Jessie Donovan's Dragon Clan Gatherings series is full of favorite characters from across all her dragon series. Jane And Kai finally find their ultimate happy ending.
Thankyou for another wonderful, captivating book. This is my favorite book series, Im so happy to see some of my fav characters get their happy ending. 💜
I love these stories so much. Love, overcoming obstacles and happily ever afters. What more can you ask for but more stories please! Can’t wait for the next book.
Love this series especially the clan catch ups. Really enjoyed that Jane and Kai got their heart desires. Look forward to more from these Dragon clans.
Like visiting with family that you actually love. This novella made me smile so much! If you’re a fan of Jessie Donovan’s Dragon shifters series, this is a MUST READ. Even if you’re not, this is such a sweet and poignant story that if you love shifter (especially dragon shifter) stories, this will make you smile, and then binge read all of the previous stories in the series. Lucky you, there are many. For the fans, this is a follow up novella regarding the safety of the half dragon-shifter children that are in orphanages that we recently discovered did not put the safety and well-being of their charges as paramount. It caught us up on many couples and families that fans of the Dragon Shifter series will love to check in with, especially Jane and Kai and Nikki and Rafe. As an adoptive mom and a woman who has dealt with infertility, I found this story especially relatable despite the paranormal elements. (But give me a Dragon Shifter partner any day!) I love that it brings together many of the clans from previous stories, and may inspire you to do a reread before the next book, which is the story of Kaylee MacDonald (sister of Gina MacDonald) and a dragon shifter from another clan who have previously visited. Hoping the time goes quickly until that release. Thanks, Jessie, for bringing a smile to this reader’s face.
Paperback It is more like .. 3 pages on this couple.. 3 pages on that couple. Very boring and a very short book. The first one was ok, but this one was , for me, a waste of time and of money. Way to much money for a thin book like this that really doesn`t add anything to the series.. 30 pages of the 117 pages is the beginning of the book Masked Dragon of Snowridge ! I feel ripped off!
