Well, it's official... Ames is definitely on my top 10 book boyfriends list for 2023. Dakota ends up on a blind date with Ames but he's not really the guy she's supposed to have the blind date with. Every girl dreams of a blind date like Ames. So hot!!!!

Where do I order myself an Ames Yarrow because hot damn 🥵!!! The only thing more you could have done to burst my ovaries would have been to have him ride in on a motorcycle. His charm, his possessiveness, his... everything. 🔥🔥🔥! I loved how supportive he was of Dakota. This story is short and spicy and has a few amazing moments where you go.. real life.. maybe not ok.. in a book... so hot! 🤣🤣

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Ames is an offensive lineman for the Nighthawks football team he meets the woman of his dreams when he is out for dinner with a teammate and his wife. Dakota has returned home after graduating college, her best friend Charmaine and mom are on her about her love life and Charmaine talks her into a blind date with one of her salon clients.
When Ames sees her and overhears her tell the hostess at the restaurant that she’s on a blind date and her date is tall he takes his chance and approaches her. She assumes he’s her date and they have a wonderful evening together. He drops her off at home and secures date number 2. You assume the big breakup will come when she finds out he lied but the author mixes it up and he confesses to hijacking her blind date. So far date number 2 is going well and when he confesses she thinks it’s sweet that he was so taken with her he pretended to be her date.
Their chemistry is hot and so are their sexy times, she’s a virgin and he has be celibate a long time. He surprises her with her mom’s help with a fun island vacation. She had a great interview with K-Corp and Ames wants to spend time with her before she gets offered the job. They enjoy ots of sun and sexy fun. It’s cute, her mom and his mom, who are both eager for grand babies move her into his home while they are away. She’s a little scared it to soon but he convinces her there is no set timetable, this is right for them even though they have only been together a couple of weeks.
Dakota gets the job at K-Corp, she actually meets Justice Kendall who offers her the job with a six weeks training course in London. She’s worried to be so far from Ames when they are so new, he’s not worried and tells her they will make the long distance relationship work. He then tells her they will get married before she has to leave. She’s not ready for a shotgun wedding but when he finds out the training is only for six weeks he tells her he will come with her since training camp doesn’t start for another eight weeks. Epilogues with them married and expecting their second baby. Dakota working as a financial planner with lots of Nighthawk players as her clients. Part of epilogue sets up the next book for backup quarterback Brady.
I really liked that Ames confesses early on and she’s fine with it. They are sweet together and I just liked both characters. No unnecessary drama, just a sweet love story.

Another awesome story in the New York Nighthawks series.😍😍 Ames is at a restaurant when he sees Dakota in front him in search for her blind Date. He sees his chance and pretends to be him. Ames just knows she is his One and nothing can stop him from claiming his woman. He was so freaking sweet and obsessed with his woman🥰🥰🥰Instalove, sweet, steamy, romantic and safe, totally drama free and with an awesome HEA😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for Brady to get his One🥰🥰

Another good read!
As with all of these guys in this series, one look, one meeting, and they are committed. I like these quick, steamy reads.
Dakota didn't have a chance, when Ames laid eyes on her. I enjoyed seeing him use the opportunity given to make sure he wooed her correctly.
As with each insta-love read from this author duo, it is a super tight timeline, from meeting to marriage and parenting. Small backstories, lots of OTT dominant behavior and steamy chemistry. What I appreciate most is that, while all of this is happening, these guys support and encourage their woman's life and career choices.
This series is easy to enjoy. I recommend reading this book and this series.

After recently graduating from college, Dakota has decided to move back into her parents' home while searching for a job. When she finally decides to let her best friend set her up on a blind date, her only requirement is that he be tall. Ames is meeting up with his best friend and wife to have dinner. But, when the gorgeous woman in front of him says that she's there to meet up with her tall blind date, Ames knows that this is his chance. Dakota knows nothing about football, so she has no clue who he is. These Nighthawks just keep getting sexier!!

Dakota Sharpe is a recent college graduate. She graduated with a degree in finance. She just wants to find a job. And get her meddling family out of her hair. Her bestfriend comes up with the idea of a blind date for her.
Let's just say who is was supposed to meet is meet is not the guy. The wrong guy is actually the right guy for her. The chemistry between Ames and Dakota is amazing. The sexual chemistry between them is 🔥🔥🔥.
I really liked the two epilogues at the end. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Two decent dates…
At least Ames took Dakota on two decent dates before claiming her. And she said moving in was too fast but her resistance wasn’t that strong.
This series is a good palate cleanser between books. It is a little difficult to read the series book by book in sequence because they are basically the same. The climax is the 1st time sex. After that it’s they meet the parents, she’s pregnant, they get married and have kids in the epilogues. All the same. What changes is how they meet.

Definitely NOT a False Start with these two. I loved Dakota & Ames from their very first meeting. Her best friend may have called it a false start but I call it Fate. I mean how else do you have such a phenomenal date that you close down the restaurant.
It had all the things I love about FD's writing. 🔥🔥🔥 Ames was 1000% an OTT Alpha and I am here for it!!! Dakota was sassy and funny and the perfect match to Ames. I loved the beach scene also!!!! Keep the Nighthawks coming cause I want more of them!!!

This is the next book in the Nighthawks series and Ames & Dakota’s story. All of Ames teammates are finding their other halves. When he goes to meet up with best friend and teammate he over hears Dakota talking about meeting her blind date. He has an instant attraction to her and decides he has to meet her. So when he hears the only thing she’s knows about him is that he is supposed to be taller than her than he steps in to be her blind date. Their connection was mutual and they ended up closing down the restaurant on their first date. This was a quick sweet fun read.

Another great book from this awesome writing duo! I love Ames and Dakota together. These two fall hard and fast. There is a lot of steam, comedy, love, sass and a wonderfully sweet HEA. There is not a lot of drama just some things that Ames and Dakota have to work out just like every couple. I can't wait for the next book book!

First, I love the members of the New York Nighthawks and this series!! I started with Kindlr Unlimited and then I went back and bought the entire series so that I can go back and reread whenever I get the urge.
I love Ames and Dakota’s “false start” and the way it was handled! This was pure reading enjoyment all the way through. I couldn’t wait to start it and then I couldn’t put it down! I am totally hoping there will be more!

Quick(ish) Review
Knew what I was getting and that’s exactly what I got. No more, no les…we’ll, actually there wasn’t even an attempt at a real conflict. It was all smutty vibes , no tension. I don’t have the bandwidth for much but I was hoping for at least a wee bit of tension but whatevs. This is a very specific type of read, and as long as you’re not looking for more, it’s ok.

Dakota and Ames😍
I love this series and how it often interconnects with other F.D. series. In this one we get to revisit Justice Kendall and K-corp and of course previous nighthawk players.
Dakota quickly went from feeling adrift back home living with her parents to completely blessed life and a hea thanks to her own hard work but also to her lucky charm, Ames. Ames took one look and was all in. Gotta love the moms lol. Definitely recommend and can't wait for the next.

What a fun read! Ames was adorable and hilarious from the start. Dakota just moved back home and gets talked into a blind date. Ames see's her at the restaurant and decides to step in, going full speed ahead with pursuing her. No real drama here, just instalove goodness and steamy scenes. Great add to this series.

I love reading the Nighthawks series with each teammates finding their HEA’s. Ames knew at first glance that Dakota is his one and did everything he could to get her. This is another sweet and fast love story by Fiona Davenport. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Another job well done ladies!

I truly can’t get enough of this series! It is the perfect quick and spicy read with some fun sports romance thrown in. Fiona Davenport always delivers on a quick novella that delivers all the love and spice, and this one is no different. I truly cannot wait for the next book in the series and to get more of this world!

I always like Fiona Davenport books. Interesting characters and fun stories. You fall into the fantasy my one issue is that it is formula writing. It’s the same story with the names changed and a bit of the character details changed. Although plenty of HEA and a fun quick read.

Dakota has agreed to go on a blind date and all she knows about him is he's tall, enter Ames who over hears her talking to the host and after one look at her just knows she's the one. So ofc he pretends to be her date but he doesn't draw out telling her and this is a super sweet, super steamy little novella that I had a good time with
