Once upon a time, I was whole. I thought I had time to get my life in order before I found my mates, but they found me first. My first heat is everything it could have been, except for afterwards? It turns out the pack that is fated to be mine have already taken a mate, and she doesn't want me anywhere near them. Once I realize that I have no hope of mating into the pack meant to be mine, there's only one place that will accept me.

I spend time at the shelter learning all about the men I could never hope to attract, and when I bring their little girl into the world, she's enough for me to forgive them for destroying me. When they come crawling back, will their pack have anything to offer me but lies?

Ugh… it was absolutely amazing!

Exactly what I wanted Broken Wolf to be (and it was just that good in the beginning but the middle and ending was terrible)

I’m hoping, praying, screaming that part 2 will continue into this direction, I’m totally sold and it’s exactly my cup of tea.

The grovel is *chef’s kiss*

Can’t wait to be in February! 🥲🫶

for rejected mates, the two that did the rejecting were so OTT sociopathic acting and awful, laughing in her face when she was upset then instead of having good grovel started acting like pathetic puppies sobbing hand and knees in a parking lot, it just didn’t feel believable. Pretty typical OW villain setup.
Soapy fun.

Loving this book a lot more than the first one. Second book in this series and once again we have another woman that looks like they may be the big bad. I was just hoping for a book that didn't pit two women against each other over men

Captivating!

I loved the first book of this serie which was a standalone, "Broken Wolf". This one didn't disappointed me. We read here the story of Aspen who has been rejected by two of her fated mates. When the other guys of the group discovered their mate and that she lived in the shelter with their daughter, it broke their hearts but also the toxic dynamic that took place in their pack for years.
Expect a CRUEL cliffhanger!!!!😅🤬

I can’t wait for the next book I hate that I need to wait. Plsssss send it to me early lolol

I absolutely can’t wait to hear the stripper mates story. And also Devon??? Where’s Devon at??? He’s a good one and deserves some mate love.

Absolutely amazingly good. The grovels. The rejection. The angst. Exactly perfect.

Second book by this author and I gotta say, I liked this one too!
Aspen is strong, and I loved how she put Arabella in her place right from the start. She makes it clear that it's not about the men, it's about her baby girl and if she touches Willa, she dies! She protect she attac but most importantly she smac.

As for the men... I still don't know how to feel about them. The thing is, I forgot most about their appearances (and some I don't even think were described). Also, they cry a lot lol. All of them, all the time. I liked that they came crawling, I didn't like that Easton felt almost compelled to be with Aspen (listen, I'm bi and I'm all about bi characters, but it feels weird that the mate bond makes him fall for her and be attracted to her). I dislike Jace. I don't like weak ass males and that's what he is...
I don't care much about Sylvan. He barely shows. Some things related to the world-building are very confusing to me, like: I thought they shifted only when they meet their mates, but apparently, they shift as kids too...Also, how does the pack work? Who pays for the shelter?

Overall, it's a good story.

really liked it!

I honestly put off reading this because I didn’t like broken wolf but I was in a big slump and felt like something to tear at my heart so gave it a try. I’m really glad I did because it was really good! I don’t even hate the cliffhanger (even though it’s a doozy). I hope this continues in book 2 and it doesn’t go off the rails like the 2nd half of broken wolf.

Soooo...definitely could not put this book down. The author has a way of writing that just makes the reader feel...from heartbreak to hope. Told from multiple POV. I enjoy all the different mates and getting to know them deeper. Not a huge emphasis on being a shifter, though I would hope that rejected mates would/should be treated better...which I think is what the author is doing. Loved the first part of the story, even with the wicked cliffhanger lol.

Where do I start?
First, I really liked it. Was it perfect? nop but it was a good book.

Spice: 2/5
MMCs: there are 6, Jace, Sylvan, Sawyer, Easton, Cooper, Curtis
FMC: Aspen/carrie
TW: Clif-hanger, pregnancy

We got Aspen who has always have a rough life, working service/cleaning jobs. We don't get a lot of background on her childhood or fam tho. We know she has a mom but she never really present in the book. The book starts right from the rejection. Jace and Sylvan don't recognise her a their fated mate (something wrong with their smelling). And have a one night stand at their office (she was working night shift cleaning). They were cruel (they have another mate - arrangement mating) and she was devastated (she was in her heat, triggered by being close to her fated mates). She then leaves to the shelter. Has her baby (WIlla) and then we fast forward to 6 years later.
She is working a cleaning job at this rich old man house, Victor. He is kind to her but she has her walls put up. At that house she meets another fated mate which is Victor's son, Sawyer.
He doesn't recognise her either, but feels interested and is wondering why?. At some point Aspen tells him he is being cruel by giving her attention since his pack rejected her, obviously Sawyer had not idea and does nuts and sad. He kisses her and then the mate pulls and bond sets in place and he feels everything she is feeling. (apparently the guys can only really feel the mate book after she kisses them)
He tells the others and similar to the last books they had no idea and are devastated. Jace and Sylvan too. The book then continues with the mates trying to win her over, and honestly she gives in quickly or right away. One of the mates - Easton is gay, or used to be until Aspen and I found that to be an interesting point of the story. Not sure how believable that is but it's def different than other bonds stories.
Willa keeps saying that if they betray her again she is basically gone... so that makes me feel that there will be another misunderstanding in the future book where she runs again, and there will be more grovelling involved.
The OW - Anabella is evil of course. She married/mated the guys as an arrange mating. The guys dont really care for her, but some did sleep with her. They were together for 8-7 years. Both parties were not faithful, since everyone was doing their own thing. The OW is plotting with one the MMCs dad (Jett).

There is a BAD cliff-hanger, so be aware of that. Overall, it had a good amount of angst, drama, some OW drama, good intake on the mate bond. I was not disappointed. Looking forward the next book.

I almost didn’t read this.

I went into Lost Wolf a little bruised from Broken Wolf, unsure if I even wanted to keep going I was fully prepared to tap out of the series. but thank the moon goddess I didn't. Because wow, this book delivered. If Broken Wolf left a bad taste in your mouth, Lost Wolf is the full course you didn’t know you needed. Lost Wolf surprised me in the best way.

Jace and Sylvan’s behavior? Straight up painful. Watching Aspen get treated like trash and then for them to just… brushed off with an “Oops, didn’t know!”? No. Just no.

Aspen comes back swinging. She's still a little broken, she’s not begging, and she sure as hell isn’t here to make the guys feel better. She’s here for her daughter full stop and if you even look at Willa wrong? Aspen will end you. The way she shuts down Arabella without flinching? Chills. Literal chills. She’s all bite, no apologies, and I love her for it.

“I am actually an adult capable of making decisions for myself and am fully able to set my own limits.”
Read that again. Tattoo it somewhere. Aspen is that woman.

And I’ll be real: I want the guys’ POVs only so I can watch them stew in their own shame. Jace and Sylvan maninly they need to feel it. Deeply. Viscerally. We’re owed a grovel arc, and it better be nothing short of epic.

Easton, though? A bright spot. His bond with Aspen doesn’t erase his queerness it just adds complexity. And I wish people would stop acting like it’s somehow a problem. If this was a straight guy “bi-awakening” for a male mate, people would be cheering. So let’s give Easton the same grace, yeah?

Now… Curtis, Sawyer, and Cooper? Meh. I want to care. Really, I do. But some of them barely made an impression. I couldn’t tell you what they look like or how they’re different from each other. They felt more like background filler than love interests (so far), but maybe that changes in Part Two.

And Willa? MVP status locked in. That girl is fire, mouthy, and not here for your drama 10/10 would follow her into battle.

But let’s talk about that ending…
WHAT. WAS. THAT.

Twist. Cliffhanger. Screaming. Throwing my Kindle. There is no way I’m stopping here.

So if you were like me and almost gave up on this series don’t. Lost Wolf is raw, emotional, empowering, and full of fire. Aspen is unstoppable. And this story? Just getting started.THIS. This is what I wanted Broken Wolf to be.

Book ends on cliffhanger, FYI.

Rejected mate = h is rejected by 2 of her 6 mates. They nail and bail on her in their office she is there to clean. For whatever reason, the 2 H's cannot tell/smell that h is their mate. They reject the h brutally and have her ejected from the office by security.

Cheating = the two Hs along with the other four Hs are all "mated" to a female. The mating was an arranged mating by the dads of the Hs and the OW. The Hs all wear rings to signify their mating. The two who nail/bail on the h had not been wearing their rings when they were with the h, but after being with h, the Hs are very cavalier and obvious about putting their tings back on. They are blatantly cheating on the OW. In effect, they are also cheating on their fated mate by being "mated" to the OW.

Grovel = the other 4 Hs are very keen to ingratiate themselves with the h once they discover her. The 4 also have the same issue that the first 2 had which is they were not able to recognize the h as their mate through smell. Once the h shares a kiss with the 4 Hs the mate bond flares to life with a vengence. (sad to say, the 1st 2 Hs did not kiss the h. Just used her and then scraped her off like shit on their shoes) The 4 Hs are trying to show h through word and deed they are sorry even though they did nothing wrong to necessitate a grovel. Of the 1st 2 Hs, only 1 has made contact with the h and he abases himself to her to apologize. The H does kiss h and BAM! his mating instinct wakes up and they actually consummate their mating. (the cliffhanger of this book is where this H is and a car that was tampered with and it explodes/crashes; we don't know which as the book ends.) The 2nd H who nailed/bailed had still not made contact with the h by the end of the book, so I'm guessing this will be addressed in book 2.

OW drama = the OW is the chosen mate of the 6 Hs. She confronts the h to try and verbally smack the h down. h stands up for herself and is the one to deliver the actual smackdown. h also prevents the OW from shooting her (h) and disarms the OW. It is not clear but there is a suspicion that the company the Hs and OW work at was responsible for possibly interfering with senses (smell) of the Hs. A strong inference that the OW was involved heavily as well (a cliffhanger that could be resolved hopefully in the second book)

Awesome

I really enjoyed this book. I was very hesitant to read it as I hate reading angst anxiety riddled stories of females being rejected then having society reject them as well. Reading through stories like that makes it difficult to really enjoy especially if we got to read about the amazing sex they had before she’s rejected. It wasn’t like that with this book. It was after the deed was done that we got to read how horrible 2 of her mates rejected her. They couldn’t feel their connection while she was in full blown heat. I was so curious to find out what happened to Devon the security guard that helped her but he wasn’t mentioned after he stopped showing up to visit her. She’s got a lot of mates, and it so happens that her newest job has her cooking for her mates dad, and when one of them comes to visit, all hell breaks loose. Her secrets out, and the mates she never knew about are all losing their minds over what she told them about being rejected. No one seems to grasp that she was in Heat when they had security escort her from the building premises which I think should have been mentioned. Not only did they reject her, they did it while she was in Heat and the pain she went through was unimaginable. I’m so glad that they are all coming around. I truly enjoyed Aspen standing up for herself with their wife. I didn’t like the idea that they were cheating on her with Aspen as I Hate cheaters but the way Kelsey weaves this story it didn’t stop me from continuing to read. Truly great book. Loved Willa the little girl. lol she made me laugh when she told her mom to blink twice if she wasn’t being threatened and that she would break out her karate movies. The things she says made me giggle. Loved all the characters. I’m so glad the 2nd book is out. I don’t know if I could have waited. I didn’t find the end to be that terrible. Jace was a jerk at the beginning of the book along with Sylvan but I think it’s Karma coming back for him. He deserves to feel hurt, I’m just sad it wasn’t Aspen letting loose on him. Instead it was their “perfect mate” that they married as a business transaction that allowed Jace to get the Karma he deserved. I think it was Arabella. Guess we will see in the next book.

3.5 ⭐️

Aspen is a badass. That scene with Arabella was 5 stars for sure.

Not sure how, even without them knowing who she was because whatever Jett and Arabella have done, I can really like those two. Their behavior with her was atrocious. And knowing that’s how they’ve likely been with other women as well really just makes them assholes and not just ignorant of the bond. We don’t get any chapter from Sylvan so who even knows where his head is at.

I think some of the conversations got repetitive between her and each of the guys. I know she’s got trauma and it’s all understandable how she’s reacting and feeling. But it was basically the same convo 4-5 times with different guys. It was a bit much especially since they all felt so long. And it was basically the entire book. Not much actually happens outside of those conversations. Like 3% of the book is other stuff and the whole rest of it is a repeated conversation.

With it being fated mates it’s obviously going to be insta love with the others and I’m all fine with that. It goes with the genre.

I just don’t really like how easily it feels she’s willing to forgive Jace. She might say “not yet” but it’s felt the whole time like she already forgave him. Taking out the issue of him not knowing, he’s a horrible person along with Sylvan. They told her a lamp would be more useful than her ffs. It pisses me off that it’s going to be a few crying moments and a half asses apology and poof all is good. At least that’s the way it feels especially since the ending is him blowing up. Major sympathy points he’s going to get from that likely. And it’s not deserved.

I’m curious to see where this goes. Curious to see just what their father has done. He’s obviously trying to develop something to take away shifters abilities to find their mates. From the background we got I want to assume his broken heart over the loss of his mate caused him to be a major prick but I leave the likely possibility that he’s just prick in general.

This book felt a lot like the first one, just with a few changes here and there. Kelsey Soliz’s writing style takes some getting used to. I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but the dialogue between characters sometimes feels off—like they’re reading from a script instead of actually talking to each other. It’s weird, I know. But here we are.

Now for the two standout issues: Jace and Sylvan. These two were incredibly toxic, and their treatment of Aspen was painful to read. Even once they realize who she is, their excuse is basically “we didn’t know.” That doesn’t fly. Mate or not, no woman deserves the kind of cruelty and disrespect they gave her. Period.
That said, I did appreciate getting the guys POVs—mainly because I enjoy watching them squirm in shame. They’re clearly feeling the weight of what they did, especially Jace and Sylvan—and they should. I feel a grovel arc coming on, and it better be epic.
Aspen, on the other hand, is an absolute queen. She’s been through hell, and the story focuses on her strength and recovery without ever making her feel broken. She keeps her dignity and self-respect, and I admire that. One of my favorite moments is when she says:
"I am actually an adult capable of making decisions for myself and am fully able to set my own limits."
That line says everything you need to know about her.

Also, I want to say something about Easton. Just because he’s only been attracted to men before Aspen doesn’t mean he’s suddenly “not gay” anymore. He’s attracted to one woman. His mate. That doesn’t erase the rest of who he is. There are plenty of Omegaverse books where a straight character(s) meets a same-sex mate and has a “bi-awakening,” and everyone loves it. So why is it suddenly a problem when the story flips that dynamic? Why is it acceptable when it goes one way but not the other? I digress.

Shout-out to Willa, who remains the MVP. That girl does not hold back and I am HERE for it.

Fair warning: this book ends on a wild cliffhanger, so have Lost Wolf: Part Two ready and waiting.
Was this a Pulitzer Prize winner? No.
Did I devour it in one sitting until 4 a.m.? Absolutely.

3.5 stars and I really liked it but the ending felt off and not to mention the cliffhanger.

It had rejection, it had angst, it had very sorry mates but I also had a cliffhanger and I didn't like the ending of the book.

Might be spoilers:
When Jace comes over I just really disliked how she was "am I sleeping" act. To me it made her look dummer and I really liked her character. Let's be honest anyone with more than 5 mates can not be a pushover. She basically had sex but pretended she was sleeping and he gave her everything she wanted. It felt like he got his redemption bc he marked her and I think the future story will be about saving him. I wish she was more of a b**ch and had him just kiss her and feel the bond and leave him to suffer for a bit... she basically had all these speeches for the men that didn't even know she existed but this guy got a free pass. Even if he didn't know she was his mate he literally had another woman for 8 years. They hosted parties, went to events, ran a household together and according to the other one they even tried to get pregnant......she has all these sexy protective men, no wolf (so no stupid hormones just human ones) and yet she has sex with Jace ....it was frustrating..... But that's what makes it good and yes I saved the next one.

You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me!

So….. ima try to keep it cool, but YEAH KELSEY not cool letting these characters run off on you and wreak havoc on everyone! I’m lit crying I’m so broken that I have to wait for part 2 !! Seriously though it takes a true wordsmith and author to write scenes and characters so detailed and real that you connect with them emotionally, and deeply. I am impressed with Aspens character. She’s the epitome of a strong FMC. She guards and protects her child and her heat with the ferocity and grace of a warrior. The character knows she’s strong, she has some insecurities but if we are honest everyone does. And I love that Kelsey wrote her so realistically. I’m so sick of the “strong” FMC that has to tell everyone what a badass she is, throw’s tantrums, and gets herself in more trouble than is necessary. Aspen is broken but determined to give herself and her child the best life has to offer them. And she will take no prisoners in the process. The scene with the packs “chosen” mate is pure gold and I can see so much of myself in Aspen. Just one of the best rejected mates series I have read. I’ll be stalking and harassing the author for updates in the release of part 2. Read this series! You will not be disappointed.

Better than the first book in the series HOWEVER changing the sexuality of a character because of a mate bond is a big giant red neon NO. What the actual fuck?
In this book we learn more about rejected mates: they have to live in the shelter and aren't allowed to move out. They can have jobs but can't be bankers or teachers, they can only work as waitresses, cleaning staff or other jobs that are described as unworthy (and yes there're only women, once again, what the actual fuck). Basically they can be taken advantage of, as there's no law protecting them but we have no idea who decided this. There's no mention of a council or a government so do all packs from all the states (taking a shot this is taking place in America because, surprise surprise, we don't know). There's a mention of territories but how big they are? No idea. Does this pack own the whole city? Like why is nothing never explained?! Incredibly frustrating.

The story felt less ruched and more slow paced, but there's barely any confrontation. The mean girl, Arabella, has 2 scenes. The villain (one of the fathers) has one phone scene. The rest of the book is the heroine getting horny and her mates being on their knees. The grovelling feel fake because they don't know her.

I read the first book in this series and it was good but I didn't feel it for days afterwards. Months later I picked this up not realizing it was the 2nd in the series until I started reading. However this one gripped me from the first paragraph. The entire book was an emotional Rollercoaster and I loved every minute but those last few oages had me sobbing out loud and crying ugly tears. That is really hard to do with me... so this author has earned my absolute respect and admiration for making me love these characters and truly feel what they were going through.

I am seriously still crying while writing this. "SHHH, don't you dare. You have every right to take want you want from me and use me. That's what I'm here for. You don't get to make yourself feel bad for not trying to keep me. I knew this was goodbye, sweetheart; doesn't mean I'd change it."

Literally the most gut wrenching words, in the most gut wrenching chapter with an ending that had me ready to bang on the authors door and demand restitution for my emotional distress.

Not so much.

I was with the female lead up until the end when she let that jerk piece of trash have sex with her and pretend it was just a dream. It was too much like forgiveness, not to mention how would you let anybody that horrible touch your body and have sex again and risk getting pregnant with somebody so completely selfish and hateful, and I HATED Aspen from that point forward. How could she seriously allow that piece of shit to touch her after the things he said and how he treated her, throwing her out into the city while she was in heat not caring that she could get assaulted. I don't get why the author thought that was a good idea and I don't think it was romantic or sexy and all it did was completely turn me off the entire book because he's an unforgivable piece of shit that has yet to do anything to earn her body or her forgiveness. Aspen is acting like a cheap, easy slag, and I'm so disgusted I don't know if I even want to go to the next book.

Great book but...

I really enjoyed this book. I read Broken Wolf first and now reading this, the author doesn't disappoint in her writing. Except one thing. One of the pack states that he's gay but once he meets and kisses her, he's now into women
I think I could understand this more if he was written as a sexually fluid person as most fae are written but he wasn't. Every person in the pack is a relative, so there's no partner for him unless he cheats on Aspen. So Easton will just magically be not gay anymore because he found his mate and I hate that. While I will continue to book 2 because I have a compulsion to finish series, this small thing will keep me from totally enjoying the series. This will not be a re-read for me and I'm sad because this was/is a really good book.

Oh my gosh, my heart!!!

This book is literally so amazing. My entire heart was beating the whole time and I could not put it down. I knew this was going to hurt, and oh it did!! But like, a good hurt?

Lol I’m very invested in these characters and cannot wait until the second one is out! I knew this was going to leave on a cliffhanger so I waited to read it until the second one was out, but I read it was faster than I expected and now I’m on the edge of my seat!!

The author is one of my favorite authors, this book like everything else she rights is so enjoyable to read and it’s so easy to get lost in the world she creates!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Watch your step.....

That cliff is a doozy. Aspen, aka Carrie, is what crazy mama wolf goals look like. She is ready to throw down for her baby and doesn't have a single f to give. So if you like stories about strong moms raising awesome kids, this book might be your cup of tea. Just like in Broken Wolf, Kelsey brings the angst so be prepared. I'm waiting anxiously for part two. This book ends on what I would consider a pretty big cliffhanger so prepare yourself. But I highly recommend this book for people who liked Broken Wolf, or enjoy any of the tropes in the title.

so good!

I loved this story! My absolute favorite part was Willa! She is such a sassy fun kid! Her lines were real highlights for me!

Aspen is a great character. She’s broken but so strong. She doesn’t want to put up with the guys bs, but she also just wants the happily ever after we all dream of. Seeing what she goes through in order to survive and then work toward forgiving her potential pack mates- she’s just incredible.

The guys definitely have some groveling and making up to do in the next book!

A mate not recognized rejected

4+ stars. Wow. I devoured this book quickly. Meeting, sleeping with her mates is a dream that became a living nightmare because they not only don’t recognize the bond but completely reject her treating her with cruelty. She goes to a place for rejected mates has her daughter and spends yeas in pain. Then while working for a nice widower alpha she meets his son and knows he’s her mate, but once again not recognizing it as such. I think Arabella did something to them, darn sure messed with that car.

Great rejected mate book, if you love the delicious angst of this trope. This duology is fine for anyone looking for a rejected mate fix, but I don’t think I’d recommend it for anyone else.

The forgiveness of the rejectors happens too quickly. She basically forgives the two guys before even meeting them again, before they apologize.

And let’s face it, those two guys were major douchebags to womankind in general. I’m not sold on them deserving forgiveness just because they didn’t know she was their mate.

What the heck

Ok as you know this was gonna happen soooooo

How the heck did you do that and whyyyyy I mean nooooo lol.

Absolutely loved this series so far except that ending, I mean how can you grip me by the horns drag me through an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions and then boom, you end it just like that.

So yes I wanted to scream, but I love my tablet to much to toss it so loved got so rapped up in both stories, can't wait for part two, was a little surprised by the twist at the end not what I expected, hoping that love will win in the end and that it's not the end for this pack. If your looking for something new this is for you but do start with the first book.
