They hurt me. They fought for me. They claimed my heart. And now it’s my turn to fight for them.
I never meant to fall for the three men who were once my enemies. There was a time when I would’ve happily danced on their graves, but now I’ll sacrifice myself to the devil himself if it keeps them alive.
But I even if I have to marry Austin McKenna, I won’t let him win this war.
Because there’s more at stake now than just survival. I’m fighting for a life I never knew I wanted. I’m fighting for the men who’ve woven themselves into the fabric of my heart.
Maddoc, Logan, and Dante have shown me that I have just as much darkness running through my veins as they do. They’ve taught me how to embrace it. And now it’s time for me to let that darkness out.
This world of theirs is violent, brutal, and dangerous…
But I can be too.
This is the final book in the Ruthless Hearts series. It contains steam, violence, and dark subject matter. Please venture between these pages at your own discretion.
Callie Rose is a bestselling author who loves to write books that will grab you by the feels and not let go till the very last page. She loves twisty plots, tortured bad boys, strong FMCs, and redemption stories where that shit is *earned*.
There are so many things I could touch on about this book, but I’ve tried to sum it up. Unfortunately the technical aspect wasn’t up to par in this book, and I noticed several grammatical errors.
Furthermore, it’s been made plain to me that the author has commitment issues. If you’re going to write a dark romance where the FMC is labeled a “Queen” then she needs to act like one instead of a weak little girl. If you’re going to write about gangs and mafia men that get tortured then you need to just do it and not shy away from it.
The plot choices are very questionable and many of them are nonsensical, so it’s no surprise I struggled through this book. I’m example, the FMC gives over all the leverage she can hold to her enemy immediately, and of course it puts the people she lives in jeopardy. And she just allows this, willingly signs it away even. This also makes me think the author just didn’t want to write a torture scene because the smart move was not saying “I do” when they forced her to marry him. They couldn’t have gotten the money then. Moreover, the FMC says there was no other choice and laments it instead of just owning what she did. This all seems like a cop out for a better plot.
But there’s even more stuff that’s just straight up crazy. The FMC hasn’t showered in weeks but the guy who has to have order and cleanliness is okay with her being on his bed when she’s that dirty? And then instead of showering all that grime off, she takes a bath and lets her wounds (that they doctored up before she showered for some reason) ruminate in all that nastiness? And then, they don’t even get a towel and just take her straight to her bed but have no issue sleeping in a wet bed? Sure, Jan. All these little details matter too because the implausibility of it just catapults you write out of the story.
There’s more details that I just can’t understand, such as the FMC supposedly has lived with these men for months but she was only pretty sure that they did the laundry in the basement. In the first book it was brought up that they had purchased her new clothes, but did they just not do any laundry after that? Who’s been doing her laundry? If you’re gonna bring stuff like this up in a novel, then it has to make sense.
Additionally, there were ideas in the last book that weren’t well executed or planned out. The MMCs at one point install a stripper pole for the FMC, because she “needed an outlet” for all her emotions. Mind you, this is the third book and it’s been months at this point since she’s stripped, and in her monologue she talks about having no outlet for her emotions. Except, she’s literally been frozen by emotion most of the series.
Finally, we come to the last plot point that wasn’t well executed: the ending where Riley becomes a member of The Six (the Seven?). The gatekeepers of the underground suddenly need her to join them because “they need a fresh new perspective”? What makes her qualified for that? What did she actually do of value to earn that? Nothing. All she did was rely on the MMCs do the heavy lifting and freeze up during a shooting spree where she made herself a liability. She got her fortune back, sure, but it’s not like she did much to get that back either.
Overall, I just couldn’t jive with this series. If half-baked ideas and emotional overload is your idea of a good book, then this one’s for you.

Solid and enjoyable wrap up to the series. Lots of steam here so that definitely wasn't lacking. I think I wanted a little more out of Riley, but when it comes down to it, this was the Reapers' show so I think I was expecting a bit too much. I loved Maddoc, Dante, and Logan; I think they were the true stars in this final part of the series.
I highly, highly, recommend reading the Ruthless Games series first as it will make things a bit clearer as far as The Six. With hints of other gangs in Halston, I hope Ms. Rose creates another series in this world.
So the first book I was page turning and couldn’t wait for the next one…the second one started to move a little slow but was still pretty good, then the last book had so much inner dialogue that it was crazy slow moving. I stopped reading half way through because I couldn’t take it anymore. I hated to that after being so invested but I just couldn’t keep going because I got so board with it. I do have to say though, I loved the characters and I loved the plot. The first 2 books were great. I did have to keep reminding myself these are gangs and not mafia and they do t have the money and connections that mafia does.
I LOVED this conclusion, it was the perfect way to wrap up the series. As I was reading I was hoping there would be more into The Six and turns out there is, it's just another series which I am pretty excited about starting.
At first, I wasn't a big fan of Riley.. I hated that she would say things about protecting her men and blah blah blah but she never acted out on her plans. I am so glad she proved me wrong by the end of the series. Dante is my absolute favorite and he will definitely be added my book boyfriend list. Logan was too awkward for me but I wish there were more chapters from his POV. Maddoc was mid for me, he needs to get off his high horse cause
Once I got to the epilogue,
ANYWAY, read the series, fall in love and hate these men. But fall in love with them, they're actually pretty great especially when they're together (iykyk if not, find out) 🤭
I’m am so sad to see this trilogy come to a close but this was the perfect way for it to wrap up. Picking up right where book #2 left off, Riley is separated from her men but she is a fighter to her core. I hated seeing her rattled but I think it made her more human too along the way.
And oh my guys. Logan surprised me in the very best way with his emotional moments. And that scene in the gym… whew… is was HOT. Dante is still my favorite goof cinnamon role alpha and Maddoc is still just a fine specimen of alpha male. They all fit as brothers and as family.
I loved seeing Ayla and her guys again for a bit longer in this book but we also got more of Chloe and Nathan so I’m rooting for their book!!!
This was somehow not as strong as the first two books, which is kind of disappointing. I still enjoyed the series overall, but there was a big lull through the middle of this book. The story felt like it lost its direction for awhile. And I don't know how I feel about how it ended.
In this moment, I would still recommend the series, though.
I’m giving it a 4 to acknowledge the series as a whole. Overall, all 3 books were good. I just felt like this could have been done in 2 decently sized books rather than 3 books. I struggled to get through this 3rd book, I felt like there was a lot of fluff thrown in when the whole McKenna issue could have been addressed in 2 books. The spice was REALLY good but overall the story in this 3rd book felt lacking. I really struggled to get through this last one, I almost DNF’d at some points.
I really loved the first two. But Reily’s character completely changed. She went from bad ass to needy and always in the way. She couldn’t hold her own like she did I. The first two books. I loved the guys and all their growth. Wish it was the same for Reily.
I couldn’t finish this one. By the third book it was just so repetitive and everything was drawn out with very little plot. The first one was good, the second okay, and the third just didn’t do it for me.
I really enjoyed Book 1 and flew through both it and Book 2. But, now I've put down Book 3 for several days, mostly because all the interesting parts of Riley fade away. Not sure I'll finish the series.
I loved this series. The second series I’ve read by this author and they don’t disappoint. Dark, dangerous, thrilling and exciting it has a bit of everything
I have given 4 stars for this book but I’m going to be brutally honest to the author that the male characters and the previous two books made me give this 4 stars. I said in my review on book 2 that this story could have been completed in 2 books and I wasn’t wrong. I got so bored with the repeated dialogue from the previous 2 books that I gave up reading and slowly came back as the repetition is relentless. I lost count of how many times the men said “ they were brothers and would die for each other” or “ we are the reapers and need to take action” while taking no action other than talking about what action they wanted to take. West Point delivered all the action to their door and drove the gang war. The amount of times Riley said “ I love these men” or “I need to get closer” or whatever other comments she said about the men again was so repetitive. Riley started off so strong and capable in book 1 about her love for her sister and the danger she put herself in to save her and I loved her strength in book 1. Book 2 she was weaker but still strong and would give herself up to save her sister and her men, but by this third book she became so weak it’s hard to remember this is the same woman from book 1. The author made her weaker and could have done so much better with the inheritance piece. Riley kept filling up with tears about each man and scenario and if I’m honest the sex happens so much I got bored as it detracted from the actual threat they supposedly faced from West Point. I thought there were too many chapters from Riley’s POV anyway but when Dante left it should have been more on the men as it was Reaper business but we just saw the business from Riley pov while she was in the room, I wanted it more from the men’s POV on what they wanted to happen and strategically what outcome they predicted week by week. The author dragged out this storyline and by doing that she made me dislike the FMC for about 50% of this book it was a lot less than I had liked her in the other two books… Ohh and I got slightly bored with sex scenes and her constant neediness ( I never get bored at sex scenes in a book) but sadly I did with this book she was too weak and needy while they were holed up and instead of strategising they were having sex. If this story had been completed in 2 books it would have been a much better read for the audience in my opinion and would have gotten 5 stars. I loved getting Chloe back and liked that she was with Nathan, and getting closer with The Six and the budding friendship with Riley & Ayla. I loved what the men did at the end of this book that was very sweet. Overall the storyline is really good and the characters are too but two books would have been sufficient for me.
This was such a good story. I loved the actual plot and the smut and the relationship with the guys. What really felt good was when they actually shared her (2 in 1) it wasn't like others where other books are like girl gets wet and everything works out - but in this in this movement was restricted and it actually hurt her, which was more realistic to me.
What wasn't realistic though, was how Logan or no one had tried to use her marriage with Austin against Austin. Like you think she would have some type of power at least legally over him, some way to fight back when he was fucking them up. They didn't even try. Like once he married her, he got all her money, and she got nothing. But she didn't sign a prenup or anything, so she could've found a way to hurt him legally to help slow him down.
Also, the nerve of Sienna to even TRY that crap with Madd's after what she did to him. Yeah, he didn't care about her now, but he used to, she betrayed him, yet she still came back and expecting him to want her like she is some hot shit. I wish Riley would've got some revenge on her for Madd though. :D
All in all though, I really love this author. This is the third series I've read by Rose every time, I've been drawn in the story soo deep and loved it. One was a paranormal/shifter read. I just think its amazing how the author can switch between the genres like that and do so well. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Series Review: I have read quite a few Callie Rose books. I think all of them. I know with her I'm going to get steamy as all get out books that are dark and why choose. I also know I'm going to get enough plot and character development to keep me invested in the series, but again with an extremely healthy dose of steam. I enjoyed this series and devoured it within 2 days. There were a few plot points that bugged me. Moments where I questioned decisions that were made, but I enjoyed seeing this series develop.
This third book was the one where I questioned the decisions made the most. The plot seemed awfully convienent at times, but I still enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed this one the most in the series. Warning, her books always end on a cliff-hanger, which is why I always wait until her series are complete before reading them. This series is now complete.

This was a great wrap up of the series. I am so glad that the FMC finally opened her heart and put her trust in other people. This last book was a dangerous ride as the characters take on their major rivals in a battle to the very end. Although I was slightly furious with Riley in the previous book, here she seems to be more rational, taking one step at a time and analysing the situation prior to jumping into action. The character that stood out for me throughout the books has been Logan as he tackled all his demons and even though his trauma will always be part of him, he has managed to find some sort of peace. Overall, I did enjoy the series and despite my constantly changing feelings towards the FMC, the story was intriguing and kept me glued to the pages. The mystery around the Six has definitely caught my eye, so for sure I will be checking out the series revolving the formation of the Six.
I really liked the first book. The second, though, should have been called The Search for Chloe. It was so overly wordy and bored me so much that I wasn’t even sure I wanted to read the third. But since I’m OCD like Logan, and I have to finish a series, I did.
While this installment was better than the second, it was still so wordy and repetitive that I found myself skimming pages and reading ahead through the captive scenes, comically long and too detailed fight scenes, and the yawn-worthy, almost recycled sex scenes, where the characters just moved order and method, but never skimped on the silly number of times she… arrived. So I give it a three. Could have been better. Could have been worse. Just kind of meh.
Ugh, I went from loving book 1 to struggling to finish book 3. I reached my limits on insane repetition, entirely too many inner monologues, and a story that dragged on for hundreds of pages beyond its limited plot. The guys were fantastic, but Riley got increasingly more weak, annoying, and stupid as the series went on. I see absolutely no reason why she would ever be invited into The Six; she literally brings nothing to the table besides money. She has no skills, strategies, or intelligence that could be of use to them. I’m sad this ended up being such a disappointment but would consider reading another series by this author if the FMC is better.
decent enough ending as far as the love story goes, but there was way too much sex. like yeah i know that’s what these books are, but i liked the others because they had a plot to go along with it. this one was basically pure smut and the plot lacked severely. like actually a really crappy ending to the awesome plot line they built up. would’ve been way better to drag out the captivity at the beginning and go more in depth there to keep readers interested. but it was pretty anticlimactic instead. disappointed considering i really liked the first 2 of the series.
Struggled to finish this book and skipped through most of it. I enjoyed book one and obviously had to read book two which I didn’t enjoy as much but book three took it too far for my taste and the storyline was dragged out and repetitive….
This was a SLOG. I glossed most of it as the plot was so drawn out I couldn’t take it anymore. I have never wanted to burn a book more at the end but I read it on my phone so I deleted it instead.

SPOILERS From here on:
I LOVED this book, the whole series! I was NOT expecting some of those twists and certainly not for Riley to listen in the final battle and actually stay behind with Logan, though I did kinda see her invitation to the Six coming, but I liked it still, and got me very interested in the companion series, which I plan to read next! There's plenty of good chill or fun/funny moments in the books, but I'd say it has a more serious tone as a whole, but it never gets TOO realistic or serious. That's not a good or bad, just to give some context for those with a preference. Frankly, I'm just so tired of rape being used as a plot device in so many books, I don't even like it mentioned happening to a character in passing unless it was historical and isn't described. This series was so relieving in that it gives all the fear and danger that makes it feel so real, without going into actual reality of what would happen when someone is abducted like the main FCs in this book. All the enjoyment, NONE of the secondhand trauma! The pacing was perfect as well! Constantly kept me interested while still giving me a breather from the action at the right times, but never once leaving me bored or zoning out. I think what stands out most to me though, is how very realistic love is portrayed in this book. It's def smut, and I've read plenty of super sweet yet dark and dirty smut books, but this one, it's like the author has truly experienced real unconditional love and been tested, and so was able to put that on the page like no other author I've read. Sure many do a great job, but this series, especially this last book, from the facial expressions, acts, thoughtfulness, concerns, all of it made their love pop off the page and reminded me so much of how loving my husband is, and that made it all the better!
