This was well written, but took me a long time (as with any non-fiction book for me). Not only Joseph Smith's, but also many others' insights are cited and explained here. It has some not well known quotes as well as some tried and true favorites. I liked the organization of the chapters. Not bad!
"Revelation", the author explains, is when God talks to man, so the fact that Mormons like me believe that God speaks not only to His church, but also to each person is unique, I think. It's usually by living a good and righteous life that we invite the Holy Ghost to influence our decisions, though it's usually a gentle nudge or whisper, and if other influences are too loud, we won't hear it.
I began this book over a decade ago while in Chile. It was sent to me as a gift during my missionary service there for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have always had too many to read and not enough time, so this one was put on the back burner for awhile. Glad to finally finish it.
