Greggie Morebooks presents two full-featured stage plays by veteran author and poet Gregory St. John Taylor originally created in 1971. The first, Wheatie Rose, is a diabolical 2-act stage play involving two sisters and one husband. It is dark and Victorian. It is also emotional in a “plain” way, somewhat devoid of exceptional emotion, which is part of the playwright’s plan. It builds tension rather than plugging it in sequentially. The second play, Glitter, also a diabolical stage play, was produced and performed in Penn State’s Five O’clock Theater, Gary Webster, under a Shubert Playwrighting Fellowship, directing. Both plays were created in a course instructed by playwright Mark Berman, Playwright-in-Residence at PSU at the time. Reading plays is a special interest for those who like reading them aloud, acting them out for their own personal, private enjoyment, or just using their imaginations, the best stages in the Universe. Enjoy.
