Small nice stories about criminals, inspectors and detectives. I've liked the story of lip-reader girl who can understand what people whisper although they away from her.. .Also some enjoyable and complicated stories such as the clever priest and the blackmailed man ..
It won't be taken a long time to finish .

-Oxford university press, level 3.
-Time: 11/20 = 90min
-7-word summary: deaf, lip read, long hair, cut, anger, never
-Discussion questions:
1. How do you think about the deaf girl in this book?
I think this is really sad story, because the deaf girl cannot convey her emotion through the wards of mouth:(
2. What will you be if you are cut your hair by someone.
I'll never forget the person who cut my hair, and I'll hate at all...

Lip read is terrific. However, as you can read, this story is really terrible, because the girl cannot say anything directly to men even if se was cut her hair by them.

Discussion question
In this story, one lady do lip-reading and she is a teacher who teachs to deaf and dumb people.

What do you think about deaf?
Are there differences between people and deaf people?

I think that there is no difference.
They can use sigh language and communicate each other like people. I am learning ASL (American Sign Language) and do activity in ASL circle. ASL is very interesting and useful. I hope that many people know and learn ASL. Challenge is very important. Join us!

This book is enjoyable and cynical. Moreover it did not make me bored.

-Discussion questions:
1.The author got angry and decided to catch criminals when her hair was cut them. If your hair was cut by a stranger, do you get angry at first?
No, I may be afraid and feel sad. After that, I will get angry.

2.Do you want to be able to do lip-reading?
No, it is useful for communicating with deaf people, but I will always worry about what other people say. It is not good for my mental condition.

This book has 5 short stories. I would like to write about the first one, which called As the Inspector Said.
Charles Darrell and Sonia French was decided to murder Sonia's husband.they were in love for 6 months. but her husband didn't allow to divorce. Surprisingly, the the police man gave the advice for the murder and then......

I thought "love" is very scary thing because it sometimes goes to bad way. but I had fun with this story.
Each stories were quite very short. I think it is easy to reading.

There are five short stories in this book. Some of them I don't get it. But it is good because I like unexpected endings.
