This book distills video basics, moving readers from video concepts and processes to production tools and techniques and, finally, to the production environment (studio or field, inside or outside) and how it affects what is done.
3.5 stars - This textbook is easy to read and jam-packed with information. The images are helpful in understanding what certain video equipment looks like and how it is used. The definitions are clear and I learned a lot from reading this.
Not the most up to date version of book but contains the basics for "making it happen" on camera. This is a must for all serious videographers. I highly recommend getting the newest version (5.0) and then messing around with an actual camera. Sorry you're cell phone doesn't count but is a start.
