November 2023 Kindle edition KU manga Volumes 8-11
This is where it starts getting tricky. Things started heating up so I read 8 to 11 in quick succession. They've kinda blurred into one for me. Tak finds out the truth about Natalie, probably from a pissed off wife and takes on a race with the evo he initially turned down, only to blow the engine, exactly what Bunta was waiting for. I didn't feel any sympathy for Natalie when he snapped at her. Cheating. Nope. There had to be something to throw Tak off his game though for the story to progress. I like that the racers didn't have the match as valid and still showed their support. It felt like the only one that understood his temperament was Ry, even Iggy was blind to the truth. I might actually see this one through to the end. The long recaps at the beginning help.

Me after reading Initial D: "I'm not getting a Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 for the sole purpose of driving sideways. I'm not doing it. It's a bad idea." Also me: "I mean... the value of these cars has increased. This could be like an investment(?)." -"Don't!" -"I could also learn lots about car mechanics." -"NO!"
Then I look at drifting tutorial videos for hours.
It's a really nice surprise that this manga is so engaging!
So they set up that the first/next time Tak loses they will upgrade the car and well it’s great to have the upgrades cause it’s obviously an old car but to spoil he will lose soon cause they introduced the upgrades in this volume so we know it’ll happen in at least the next two races, would’ve rather had Takumi just lose then introduce the upgrades, also the writing in this volume is bad, the antagonists say they saw the Eight Six driver and as soon as they see Takumi they don’t recognize him? Wtf

This volume shows Tak taking on new roles: interest in the Eight Six, cleaning it. Leadership, by vowing to race first. They don't have any LanEvos for sale here man, that sucks...
