Four stars because to judge it 'amazing' just is, well...hard to do! I'm in the middle of this time spoken of in the book...it is not amazing. This book gave lots of information a woman needs to know. I think it's good to be educated regarding your body and it answered many of the individual questions I had...in detail. I found it an easy and concise read, although, after many years of norm the calendar I keep I might as well throw out...so this is a 'keeper' to refer to!
I'm usually not into 'self-help' books, but this one is a support!! I have visited my 'woman's health' clinic on base...although, they were eager to help and talk about things...sometimes the medical field can only go so far as what YOU know or know to question. So, to go over such a topic in a full complete way gives a whole picture that I can then make specific questions about myself to keep in mind for next appointment if I choose to do so.

THis is a great book to normalize the feeling of perimenopause and to ensure that you do not still feel like you are going crazy after you are done reading it. Some great ideas, some wonderful stories to highlight certain symptoms, and some tips to help you get through all the bizarre symptoms that seem to be a freaky, surprising, and downright crazy ride.

Sounds like it's gonna be great.

This book needs to be edited down to a pamphlet.

This book provides a great, plain-English explanation of the normal changes that happen preceding menopause. A lot of the solutions offered are just common-sense (exercise, eat right, etc.) but it never hurts to have a reminder.

I also like that she considers both mild and severe signs of perimenopause. When I first browsed Amazon for a book on the subject, most of the titles frankly scared me. But this book differentiates between minor issues that can be resolved with dietary or lifestyle changes or natural remedies and those that may require medical intervention. So far, I am definitely in the "minor" category, but I feel like now I have a better idea when I might need more advice or medical help.

This book was off the "free books" shelf at the library. I'll hang onto it for the future, if I am suffering from hot flashes and other pre and post menopausal symptoms. However, the author of this book LOVES estrogen. This book was obviously written before the big estrogen scare. However, she also has many natural remedies to those pesky menopausal problems, which is what I will refer back to if needed. I wouldn't buy this book, but it could come in handy if you want some natural solutions to try.

Lots of information. Some of it may be a bit outdated, but definitely food for thought and certainly a good book to write up questions/concerns to discuss with your doctor.

What I read of it was very interesting, but as it's for the American market I did feel parts of it wasn't very relevant to me. Definitely one to get out of the library again.
