The first three books in the collection referred to as the “Minor Prophets,” Hosea, Joel, and Amos nevertheless convey the major division of Holy Law and Gospel. Taken together, and interpreted through the Gospel, we see God’s relationship with and redemption of Israel and the Church as the result of His boundless mercy and grace in His Son, Jesus Christ. In this study we will examine • the incarnational nature of God’s prophetic Word pointing to Christ; • the continuing dangers of false teachings and false worship; • the hope of Christ’s first coming and His second coming on the Last Day.
