Definitely not for everyone. Too much of this book is made up of a collection of genealogies and migration places full of Yi names that are meaningless to the average reader. I don't even know if they would mean anything to a reader from the Yi people of Liangshan.
But in between, there are some jewels, such as the transformations in the battle of wits between Hou and He families before they made peace and settled on opposite banks of the river.
合变成红叶, 侯变成铁块, 铁块沉入河底去, 红叶浮在水面上, 合得胜二次。
