An Engineering Data Book

Rate this book
This indispensable companion is a ready reference for commonly required formulae and data, for use in coursework and examinations (where permitted) and in professional practice. It is not a textbook – the user is expected to know when to use a particular formula, and just as important, when not to use it. Starting with Symbols and Units, and Physical Constants, it moves through the key areas of Analysis, Mechanics, the Properties of Solids and those of Materials, and covers the Earth and the Environment, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Automatic Control, Electricity and Magnetism, Soil Mechanics and finally Structures. It concludes with indexes for both Symbols and Keywords. The units are SI, or multiples, with conversion factors from other systems provided. The symbols are generally those in common use in particular specialities, except where this would cause confusion.

This book is aimed at all students of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, plus students of Environmental Science and Earth/Ocean Science.
