The ultimate betrayal made. Heroes dead. Villains yet live. And then treasure that was found is not what it was thought to be.

The displaced heir to the City in the Sky must find a way to throw down her evil older sibling and restore peace. Her magic is not strong enough. She has no army to take back what is hers. But...as luck may have it... for good or for ill... hope is delivered to her and the battle to take back her kingdom and her people begins. Meanwhile... that which was thought lost is new again...and true evil may find its way back into the world.

The 3rd book of the WAR OF POWERS by Robert Vardeman and the late Victor Milan escalates the story as the heroes and villains of the tale take their personal conflicts and magnify them into confrontations that affect the lives of everyone around them. The authors have created heroes that shine with virtue while fostering their own dark side... while those villains who are truly evil never die.

Halfway through the 6 book WAR OF POWERS series and the story continues to build.

This is not a stand alone book. While readers may consume this story by itself, the rich back story of both characters and the driving forces can only be appreciated by reading the first two books in the series.

This is the 3rd book in a series and apparently not the last (open-ending).

I haven't read the first 2 books (don't know where I got this one) and I probably won't. It's a decent story, but it took a while for me to figure out what was going on (my shortcoming for not reading the first books). The heroin seems happy to jump into bed with any hunk who comes along, especially if he'll help her get what she wants; even a female ghost/genie/whatever it is.

She was supposed to be queen of a flying city, but her evil sister usurped her (apparently in a previous book) and now she's trying to stay alive, reacquire her throne, and save the world.

The story line is okay and if you've read the first two books, you'll probably enjoy it. For me, it was interesting, but not engrossing.

Somehow hornier than the previous ones, in a way that is at times a bit out of sync with the rest of the vibes. Pacing is as good as ever though. Halfway through the series and there’s still a lot of interesting stuff left!
