My husband bought home this children's book from our Little Library on our street recently. I'm not quite sure why, our granddaughter isn't even one yet. I don't plan on saving it for her as it's years away and some other little people can enjoy the book in the meantime. Anyway, I sat down and read it this afternoon.

It's always cool when you come across a local author who has written a book. I didn't realize this until I read "About the Author". She lives outside Richmond, VA, and so do I. It was also cool that there was a page to colour in the book, just before Chapter 1 begins.

It's the last day of school before summer break and Riley is very excited because her best friend has asked her to spend a whole week with her and her family in the Outer Banks. But there's a problem, Riley's family always goes to Top Sail Island and they are leaving as soon as she gets home. When her mother tells her no, Riley is upset and she's determined to have a bad time. But then she gets the biggest surprised when she starts realizing she's having fun!

While I've heard of Outer Banks, NC, many people go for vacations there, Top Sail Island, NC I haven't, until now that is. It's 4-1/2 hours from Richmond.

I have a few Little Libraries within blocks of where I live and I have a few books to donate them too. It's on my list to get there next week.
