Pamela, it must be said is a Greedy Cow. She just loves pears. Noone else can get any pears because Pamela eats all the pears. Until one day, she eats Too Many Pears, 600 pears. The look on her face is priceless. I think we've all eaten the equivalent of 600 pears!

Another humorous little picture book from the teaming of French and Whatley, involving a cow and her love for pears. What more could you want? French continues to intrigue with her wide range of stories.

Pamela likes pears. She likes green pears, red pears and stewed pears with ice cream. But with Pamela liking pears so much, nobody else on the farm gets any pears. (Did I mention Pamela is a cow?) What can Amy do to get Pamela to stop eating all the pears?
This is a very, very funny book! Pamela is an enormous black and white cow, very reminiscent of illustrations in Sandra Boyton's books. This book is a wonderful way to relate to children the results of over-indulgence and the benefits of moderation. Although, I am not sure Pamela truly has learned that lesson.
I would recommend this book for children 3 - 7.

A cow who has an obsession with eating pears, and a little girl who needs to figure out how to stop the cow from eating all the pears - what a funny story with great illustrations. This may even entice children to eat their fruit, with all the pears in this book!

I have a thing for cartoon cows, which is why this book caught my attention. Prek-1 will enjoy this story about a cow named Pamela, who loves pears a little too much. Look forward to including this in a storytime!

This is a book for fans of cows, pears, farm tales and wombats.

5 stars for this funny story - the kids and I laughed at all the ways the cow found to get her mouth on pears. And we were delighted to find a wombat in the story.

We are big fans of Jackie French and the wombat illustrations by Bruce Whatley in her Diary of a wombat book.

However we didn’t like the illustrations in this book as much as the illustrations in the wombat book, even though it is the same illustrator (Bruce Whatley). The cow and the people just aren’t as appealing. As one child said « that cow on the cover has nightmarish eyes. » For the most part the expressions on the faces of the people and animals are still pretty funny. Also the picture of the spread of pears and the tree are fine.

Overall, this is an enjoyable read. One child wanted an immediate re-read. It’s short enough for quick reads, and appropriate for toddlers, preschoolers and young elementary students.

Charming! This book is about Pamela, a cow, who LOVES pears. The situation is out of control so Amy, her young owner, decides to solve the problem by offering Pamela as many pears as she could possibly want. (This is along the lines of the theory that if you overdose on something you will get over your craving for it.) Poor Pamela gets very sick. And, yes, she is done with pears but onto something else perhaps? Hilarious. (This book is written in both English and Spanish.)

This cow just loves pears! The family try everything they can think of to keep her away from their pear tree but nothing works until one of the children give her all the pears she can eat at once... then she feels sick and doesn't want to look at another pear.

A nice picture book to spark conversations about problem solving and having too much of a good thing.

I saw this on display and was so confused about a book with pears and a very worried looking cow.
I decided to have a look and saw it was a quick read so read it.

A VERY funny book about how too much of a good thing can be bad.

The last page made me laugh out loud

3.5 stars rounded up for the picture of Pamela crawling through a wombat hole, and for the expression on the wombat's face.
