Helpful book on the community benefits of the church. Follows pattern of Westminster Confession of Faith chapter on Communion of Saints with One Another. Good chapter on spiritual gifts and how every believer has a place in the body.

This is a cool collection of essays by smart Reformed people (part of me is tempted to ask if that phrase is redundant-- a lot of the time I feel too stupid to be Reformed-- I wonder if it is possible to FEEL Reformed? I think I'm intellectually Reformed, but emotionally some kind of cocktail of moralistic, karmic and pagan silliness) about the importance of doctrine of the Communion of the Saints (which they differentiate from the Invisible Church in that the former extends to the past and the future-- all the elect, and the latter is just the present believers, or the Church Militant, unless I read them wrong) on every facet of our lives. It could be used effectively for personal devotions, in small groups, or for church membership classes. It also includes a pretty involved spiritual-gifts questionnaire which I am not nearly patient enough to attempt.
