This accessible introduction discusses the main topics in Catholic theology, along with the work of a number of key theologians. The central topics covered include: the nature and sources of theology, God one and triune; Jesus Christ; Creation and Fall; Grace; the Holy Spirit; the Church; the saints, worship and sacraments; the moral life; ecumenical and interreligious dialogue; and Eschatology. Each chapter draws upon Scripture, tradition, and official Church teachings, as well as select contemporary discussions of the topic in question. The authors do not promote either their own theologies, nor the theology of any individual theologian, but instead seek to initiate students into a centuries-old conversation among Catholics about the task of faith seeking understanding.
A good, interesting and very thorough introduction to theology. Though I'm not going to lie - certain chapters made me realize why I'm not the philosopher in my family! Despite the engaging writing it can still be a dense work (honestly, as it should be) and certain sections got a bit mind-bendingly heavy for me.
I am, however, glad I read it and wouldn't mind dipping into some aspects of theology in more detail.
