In many ways it's a rather trivial book, being so short and brief, containing pieces that many might have considered to be rather ephemeral at the time they first appeared. But that being said, it is nice that they have been collected and preserved. Reid has that knack for getting you interested. Just read his book reviews in the last section of this book and you will see what I mean, wanting to go out and buy all those that he recommends, and to ignore those that he doesn't.
