... man I dunno - I wanted to like this more than I did. I feel like the relationship wasn't sufficiently developed - not the romantic one anyway. It was more "flip a switch" and "they're together cuz the author says so" - ESPECIALLY with all the misunderstandings and shit. And omfg - were they a modern couple I'd be like "YOU NEED ALL THE THERAPY IN THE WOOOORLD."
It was ... I mean I liked it more than I disliked it but I also don't think I'd re-read it and TBH even recommend it ...
I hope the drama is good - look forward to ZWY's portrayal, but that's kinda what powered me through it in part.
Was very disappointed the extras didn't have any further things really from ML and FL cuz they really needed it imo.
Can't even remember too much from the end - was so frustrated with them both.

I like the premise, the family politics and intrigue, and overall this was a good read that I couldn't put down from start to finish, but
The couple didn't communicate, and I feel at times the female lead was a little too careless of her reputation or how she would appear to her husband, talking to the people from her past live (her nephew of the past and her past ML). Also she is smart, capable of turning people with a few words, capable of establishing her authority with stewards etc, but she can't seem to keep her old identity a secret. Even a sister in law can figure out it's her in 1 meeting??
I also couldn't really understand what made ML tick or what made him fall in love with her, aside from his childhood with her growing up both motherless in the same family clan. I wish we were given more there to relate to him. I actually felt like the love and those sweet moments revealed of her with past ML (from past life) were sweeter. I like it when the author makes us feel for past ML (and not make them a total douche) but we should feel new ML is better and I just don't. I still rooted for the new ML and FL to be together, this is based on the FL's own preference, and he definitely treats her well too but they don't seem to joke around the same way she has with ex ML. New ML is basically a flatter character than ex ML.
