I had read the narrative years ago, when it appeared in installments in the Times Union newspaper. The story takes place where I live, therefore places are familiar, and some of the characters are people I know personally. Although a bit repetitive at times, it is a powerful, emotional story.

Such a sad but beautiful story. I read this book 10 years ago and it still crosses my mind.
