Rationale for Selection: I selected this book originally by looking at the cover, which I thought would be appealing to children. I liked that the information appeared current and easy to find using the tab indentions. The scholastic brand was familiar to me and I know that students in my area are familiar with the use of this dictionary because our library has an earlier version they are currently using. I feel that young students will like the illustrations and tip boxes that explain the differences in closely related words.
