In cookbooks, I need pictures of the dishes. This cookbook has no pictures but makes up for this lack by being so informative and having so many fantastic recipes I cannot wait to try.
Really excellent cookbook! Gives very clear, simple instructions as well as history on a wide variety of Ukrainian cuisine (the amount of different borscht recipes alone was incredible). I also really liked Corona encouraged substitutions and experimentation. That's not something you see often in cookbooks and I really liked that attitude of "here's the recipe, but if you want to try it these other ways go ahead!"
Probably my only quibble is I would have liked a couple more recipes. I remember reading through and there being a few omissions of dishes I thought of as really integral parts of Ukrainian cooking. But overall highly recommended and frequently used!
