I found this in the book bundle - "What to Read After Fifty Shades of Grey - The Gemstone Collection".
Matt Ranger runs a weekly newspaper. He recently skied into a tree and had the heavy cast on his leg to prove it. He's back to work and his star reporter - Casey - tells him she wants to quit and try to finish writing her novel. He realizes he has assigned her some very dark stories recently not realizing that they could burn her out. He had planned to go to his condo in Mexico, instead he gave her the ticket, instructions, told her to finish her novel. She is saddened to learn that he has received an offer for the paper from a large company. He says he will probably take it since his son Mike does not seem interested in taking over the paper. Matt tells her that the new owner would really like for her especially to stay on. With a Pulitzer she just bet they'd like her, probably at her same small salary. She hasn't been in Mexico very long when she has a visitor. He seems put off that she is staying there. He says he is between jobs and Matt's son Mike offered him the use of the place until he could get himself together again. With telecommunications poor, reaching Mike who is in Europe just isn't happening. When she reaches Matt he tells her that her worst fears for the paper have happened and Matt has sold it to a larger concern. Travis's stay turns into months. Casey has finished her novel but has been retyping it just to spend more time with Travis. Then Travis tells her he has to take a short trip, but he'll back later that day. With him gone, she forces herself to pack and leave paradise for home. She and Travis had become lovers, but he never mentioned a possible future for them. She wasn't cut out for anything short of marriage. So she had to leave him. Home again Matt tells her the new company is holding a job for her. Since she got an unbelievably high amount of money for her book, she doesn't need to work right now. She wants to share her good fortune with Travis but has no way to reach him. She could even help him out financially if he still needed a job. At loose ends she agrees to meet with the new owner of the paper, his wife and 2 kids. Every thing informal and Matt will go. She knocks and walks in. Shouldn't she hear children? Hello!! No answer. The view is mesmerizing and she walks over to enjoy it. She hears a slight sound and turns to see Travis. Her brain goes into overdrive. Is he the new owner with the wife and 2 kids? Was he using her in Mexico, or trying to convince her to be his star reporter and mistress on the side?

Great Fun! Loved the story and the ending is HEA!
