Rate this book
A Novel About the "Richest Man in the World" -- namely Harold Hume as told by Juliette Zachary who is hired by him to record his life after the death of her athletic husband, a "tireless, ceaseless, pumping piston." Actually she is to be part of a million dollar deal in which a doctor will perform a testicle transplant on Hume to put him back in action. Then there's the unsuspecting donor -- he's to be murdered -- who turns out to be wearing the gonads of Juliette's dead husband which makes it a whole new ball game for those willing to overlook the very effable vulgarizations.

About the author

Henry Kane

Author Henry Kane was a lawyer who seemed to prefer writing. In his career, wrote over 60 novels, including about 30 featuring Peter Chambers. Other short-lived series characters were PIs Marla Trent and retired NYPD detective inspector turned P.I. McGregor. He also wrote the movie adaptations for Ed McBain's 87th Precinct's Cop Hater and The Mugger. And, in light of his experience with Chambers, Kane was the perfect choice to pen an original novel starring television's Peter Gunn.

He also wrote under the pseudonyms Anthony McCall, Kenneth R. McKay, and Mario J. Sagola. He is the creator of Peter Chambers, a private eye in New York City, McGregor, an ex-cop turned private eye in New York City, and Maria Trent. Kane also contributed to the series of 'Ellery Queen' novels ghostwritten by other authors.

Deliciously erotic in a brutal and unapologetically masculine way.

The medical science leaves much to be desired, though it was written so long ago it could have been plausible in that time.

A sort-of thriller about testicles, and how a man with the really prime testicles is younger and more virile than a man with lesser balls. Has some very raunchy and explicit sex scenes.
