The story is really simple and to sum it up …basically it's about a young girl who inherits a mysterious secluded house left to her by an obessed psycho satanist. George haight has sold his soul to the devil and he likes the h and because she is not interested in him it appears to me as if he tries to teach her a lesson with his powers. Its not clear how he dies but leaves his mansion to the heroine after h shifts into.his house she is totally in the power of his haunting soul. Candace is unable to leave this house and she jhst wants to be alone. Finally the house is struck down by lightening and heroine is free at last...phew!. Nonetheless, since this is not a short story, i found it to be very uneventful and boring because nothing really happens except that once the h shifts into the house it becomes a repition of her routine -- she is tired, nagged by her friend doctor and mother, visited by a mysterious black.dog, she is tired in the kithcen, gets up, has same dreams, she is tired she argues she is alright, ..so basically nothing new happens and she still feels incapable of leaving this house. no spooks , no frights, just repition and i became so dissapointed! i even skipped a few chapters out of frustration only to find the story was still where i had left it.. except till last two pages thunder strikes! very unimpressive and unimaginative!
