Hedgehog's Secret

Rate this book
"In the summer evening, stars are blinking.
Hedgehog strolls around while thinking.
Before too long she'll go to sleep
and into her dreams her treasure will creep.
What is her treasure? What could it be?
No one knows. It's not easy to see."

Hedgehog is terribly busy. She's washing, she's cooking, she's cleaning. One by one, Elephant, Pig, Teddy, and Lottie stop by. They'd like to eat and play; they'd like attention! But for once, Hedgehog doesn't have time for them. At the end of the day the mystery is solved when Hedgehog introduces all her friends to her newborn treasure.

Tämä kirja oli kerrassaan upea! Aivan käsittämättömän ihana ja lämminhenkinen loppuratkaisu, vaikkakin koko tarinan ajan mielestäni kerronnassa oli leppoisa fiilis.

The artwork is adorable --there is a hedgehog!!! who reminded me of Mrs. Tiggywinkle --but the story is bizarre. While I don't mind that the big reveal was a sweet, new baby, there was so much negative language leading up to the baby that the surprise was spoiled by this heavy air of no's and can't's and leave-me-alone's...

I'm curious if something was lost in translation, or if there's something cultural that I'm just not getting? Would love to hear from you if you've read it and loved it...
