Alan B. McElroy is an American writer of film, television, comic books, and video games. He is best known for his collaborations with Todd McFarlane on the Spawn franchise, and for penning horror films such as Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Wrong Turn.
In 1996 Rob Liefeld resigned from Image a few minutes before his partners issued a press release stating that they had fired him, so every previous reference to his Youngblood superheroes team just vanished from Spawn's continuity and McFarlane changed Al Simmons' assassin from Chapel to sexy Jessica Priest in both icomic-book series and following Spawn (1997) movie.
This volume was supposed to add more depth to the character but, like first two ones were essentially a couple of rip-offs from Terminator and The Crow, this just ended being a bad copy of Resident Evil Code: Veronica storyline.
Not bad at all, but it seems again that author has a thing for the women-in-fridges trope. And that presumed shocking ending was a really silly one for me.
The Zombie-Spawn vs Iron Maiden's Eddie Hatchet issue #22 was just a bad excuse to promote more McFarlane Toys merchandising.
Again, Dwayne Turner's amazing artworks saved the day.
