A Monster Axe-mas by Luna Pierce
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had been searching for a Christmas story with a side of murder and this just sort of fell in my lap. Can you say serendipitous?

Jessa’s had a pretty shit life, what with losing her parents, followed by her fiancé cheating with her best friend. Inevitably both assholes leave her, take all of their mutual friends to boot. It’s no wonder she’s become a hermit.

In a wholly unfortunate turn of events she runs into her ex-fiancé and so called best friend and lies about a fake boyfriend and agrees to come to a Christmas Eve party.

Then she accidentally summons a demon, well three. In a drunken stupor she agrees to sell her soul for a fake boyfriend and hilarity and nonsense of the best kind ensues. Including my aforementioned murder.

Pretty entertaining, I really liked Jessa, I’m always a fan of grumpy characters. I thought Clover had a big personality but Tobias and Rosco kinda melded into the same character. I loved to hate Aaron and Madison, they were truly awful but I would’ve liked more comeuppance for Madison.

It didn’t feel too holiday inspired, it could’ve been any holiday so I would’ve liked more festive additions. It would’ve given awesome distinctions between the opposing violence. Honestly, I could’ve used more of that too, like shove the blood and guts in my face with a heaping side of elves and mistletoe.

Be Not Afraid by C Rochelle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

BR with my girl Cass

This was a quite the blasphemous little tale that I was hoping for and so much more.

Can you say highly entertaining?!

From the holy unreligious use of scripture and church lingo to the steamy hot interludes to the funny ass remarks. I mean, what’s not to love!?

I was totally jealous of Mags, what I wouldn’t give to be in that celestial sandwich. Yum!

Far too short! I wanted more while I still felt fulfilled … in every hole. Looking forward to what else our fair writer comes up with in this world!

So far, I’ve only read Yule Tide by Cara Bryant: 4⭐️

I loved the writing- it felt like my bff was talking to me. It was modern and slang was thrown in that ppl use now and I loved that!

I did feel like I was missing out on some of the previous storyline and was confused at certain parts. I know that’s because this is a novella and it couldn’t be any longer so for what was there, it did a good job. I really want this as a full length novel tho. Each character had so much personality. Imma need more of the demons asap please and thank you.

Loved the fact that the Christmas aspect was woven in and yet it wasn’t preachy. You just got the vibes 🎄

I will post the ratings and reviews for the other stories when I read them!

Monstery goodness with a holiday twist!
Often times these anthologies can be really hit or miss, this one was, however, a major hit in my book. At first I had kind of chuckled at the thought of a monster-themed holiday anthology, how the heck were they going to make monsters "holiday", aside from the handful of existing monsters of course. But they made it work! And there ended up being something for everyone, I think. All of the stories I read were 3 stars or better according to my personal system, and at least 2/5 chili peppers hot, with a few hitting 5! 😉

For now this is just the rating for C. Rochelle’s novella in the anthology, Be Not Afraid — I had the opportunity to ARC read it and wanted to share my thoughts asap but I will definitely be coming back with more for the rest of the anthology once I get my paws on it!

Be Not Afraid C. Rochelle

“Such a good, good little sinner.”

PHEW is it hot in here? I think it’s hot in here. 🥵
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I think this is C. Rochelle’s thigh-clenchiest story yet — which I told her in the ARC group, when she asked if anyone on the team was running for the hills yet, lmao. How she managed to make a 15k novella THIS damned hot with a linear plot no less, is beyond me.
Priest-kink? Unlocked. Monstrous, unholy biblically-accurate angels? Consider me scaroused. Chasing/primal kink? Check. Downright delectably, sinful blasphemy? Checkity-CHECK. *And* M/M *and* fancy equipment? C, you spoils us, honestly. 😘
5 Stars, 5 Peppers

EDIT: Now that I've read the entire anthology I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the other stories, as always I won't share anything negative about the ones that didn't work for me. Anthologies are bound to have something in them that not everyone likes.

First, Salem Cross's "Monsters in my Stockings" was dang hot, like C's story -- it features all kinds of smoking hot things like pegging, chastity cages, orgasm delay, and more. In addition to a really well-written and well-paced story set in a world that I would honestly love to read more from! 5 stars, 4 peppers!

Second, Rachel Callahan's "Her Christmas Monsters" was also way up there on the spicy meter, with hella hot menage scenes in the AM that involve some shadow tendrils I was very jealous about. I've not read anything by this author before but I will definitely be adding her to my TBR list now lol. 5 stars, 4 peppers!

Third, Yve Vale's "Wild for Yule" -- this one was a lot heavier on the angst, but I was immediately invested in the characters and I really loved the way it turned out. The world building for such a short story was phenomenal and I will have to look into if the author has done anything else in the same vein. The final chapter was very hot, I do so love some M/M while the FMC is being stuffed ;) 5 stars, 3 peppers!

Finally, Cara Bryant’s “Yule Tied” the tropes/triggers content warning at the beginning got me quite excited about this story and it delivers. The story itself starts a little cheesy, the internal dialogue of the FMC a bit over the top for me but it quickly evens out with the addition of the two male POVs and it’s a *great* story. The love between the triad is so pure and beautiful despite all the tasty debauchery they get up to. And they get up to quite a bit lol. 5 stars, 5 peppers!

Honorable mentions, at 4 stars: A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap, The Grim Reaper's Girlfriend by Harper Alexa, and Yuletide Orc by River Starr.

My favorite was still "Be Not Afraid", but C. set a really high bar and I might be a tad biased.

.

Also going to include some tropes/triggers for the individual stories that weren't mentioned, as part of my ongoing commitment to safety <3

Potential spoilers included! You've been warned.

Wild for Yule by Yve Vale: breeding/filling with seed talk, knotting.
Yuletide Nightmare by Salem Cross: fisting? Although the thing with the bottle kinda tops that lol.
Her Christmas Monster by J. E. Cluney: past domestic violence/abuse, near miss with a repeat encounter.
A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap: demon sex slavery, honorifics, orgasm denial, nipple pain/clamps, tail play.
Monsters in my Stockings by Salem Cross: bdsm elements (st Andrews cross, gagging, chastity cage, belt/spanking, orgasm delay, strap-on/pegging)
Merry Monsters by Rena Marks: the spousal abuse is done by a cop & all his cop buddies are covering his ass.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This is an excellent collection of holiday-themed Monster Romance short stories/novellas! There are four why-choose, seven couple, and five ménage stories written by talented PNR authors to sink your teeth into. I have had the chance to read a handful already and look forward to completing the set over this holiday season.

Story specific reviews:
A Monster Axe-Mas by Luna Pierce 5/5 (why-choose)
Accidentally summon a trio of monsters while decorating a cake, you say? This story was a great mixture of lightness and sorrow that had a very satisfying ending. Three genies who aren’t genies (according to them) become one perfect boyfriend to show up a cheating ex and former best friend.

In this fake dating monster story, the steam becomes real. Sure, one of the monsters absolutely drives the FMC mad, but a little bit of hate s3x never harmed anyone, right?

Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan 5/5 (why-choose)
This story was a bit of a mixture of tropes – coworker/friends-to-lovers, grumpy boss, and monster lover, in a contemporary setting. It was a slower start to get to the steam, but the tension was high throughout.

One of the monsters in this story can control the shadows and uses them to help FULL FILL (wink wink, nudge nudge) the FMC’s needs.

Wild for Yule by Yve Vale 4.5/5 (why-choose w/MM)
Right out of the gate – straight smut, but in the ‘we have been mates for many decades, and we know how to really celebrate the holiday, and it isn’t in gift giving, it’s in orgasm giving’ way. Very appropriate. A witch is mate-bonded with a phoenix and hellhound and picks up another mate along the way when her soul recognizes his soul.

We get shape shifters who can partially shift and knotting in this story. There is also MM in a very hot mate-bonding ritual.

Yule Tied by Cara Bryant 5/5 (Ménage w/MM)
This was an adorable, fun read. Cara Bryant packs a ton into such a short story. We get our desired HEA, a FMC who saves the world and who also happens to be absolutely hilarious, sexy demons with special talents, and monster smut. So much monster smut. And she wraps it all together with a great plot.

It’s a MMF, so expect some sword-crossing. One of the sexy demons in an incubus who can control sexual desire through his… spent. And he has a tail. Both demons have horns. And large… appendages. Very naughty things are found within this story.

I cannot wait to see what else the anthology holds. I will update my review as I read through.

Monsters and Mistletoe is a monster romance anthology that is set around the winter holidays. There are several authors and groupings, which they conveniently put in their own sections so you know what you’re getting before you start reading. I am normally not the type of person who reads books set at Christmas but this one was hard to pass up.

As with any other anthology I read, I will give each individual story a rating and the average of those will be the overall for the collection. Are

* A Monster Axe-Maas by Luna Pierce – 5 stars *
I honestly forgot the name of this story until I came to write the review and now I am giggling because it makes sense. Fun pun.

Anyways, Jessa’s ex is a jerk, a massive jerk. He cheated on her with her best friend, which makes her a jerk too, and now Jessa is stress-baking. Or she was until she ran out of flour right before Thanksgiving. At the store, while cursing her shortness, she runs into her ex and former best friend where they invite her to a Christmas party along with her very fake boyfriend. At home she drunkenly decorates a cake which summons a monster (not a genie) who is going to grant her wish. He and his brothers are going to be her fake boyfriend and in exchange they get her soul.

It was a fun little reverse harem/why choose, mixed with fake dating but add in monsters. I do wish that Rosco got a little more time to shine, but that would really be my only real complaint from this story. You know, other than the usual “It needs to be longer” that comes with these anthologies.

There was some fun dynamics I haven’t read often. Clover likes to call her “Little One” and dominate. She also likes to be in charge and get her way, so it’s a bath and forth between them without her being a brat, which I hate. So it was fun to read them together.

* Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan – 5 stars*
Clara is charged with making the huge Christmas display for the flagship mall bigger and better in two days or it’s her job. So with Flynn, her boss breathing down her neck, Ethan the work bestie slash sexual tension helping, and the shade demon in her dreams serving as inspiration, she buckles down to make it happen.

I really enjoyed this story, I have never read anything by this author and honestly thought that the pacing of this story was pretty good. I was a little worried considering how short it was and she didn’t know any of these men outside the best friend at work. It all came together in a pretty satisfying way. Was she quick to accept “Mate”? Yes. But to be honest if a sexy gargoyle and shade demon with tentacles told me they were my mates, I would probably be on board with no questions asked.

* Wild for Yule by Yve Vale – 4 stars *
This one took me a bit to focus in my mind, I was iffy on the time period and just the characters themselves, but once I sorted the images out I read through it very quickly.

Amira is a witch (who doesn't practice) who lives in the middle of nowhere with her mates; Darius, a Hellhound, and Raithe, a Phoenix. They are preparing for their Yule feast when a stranger, Rowe, shows up on their doorstep asking for reprieve. They agree and the four spend a good night together, eating, laughing, and fantasizing. When dawn comes, the Wild Hunt shows up looking for Rowe. When Amira and her mates stand in their way, the Horde King makes Dairus and Raithe a part of the Hunt and Rowe runs again. Crushed, Amira leaves to find a way to free them.

I really loved this story, but I love things that use the Wild Hunt as a central focus, I don’t think there’s enough of it. Amira is a bit of a badass. Rowe is a very likeable guy, despite things in his past that would make him unsavory (especially if you ask him). Raithe is adorable. Darius is the big strong alpha of the group and all over they round each other out very well.

The only issue for me was the spice really wasn’t doing it for me.

* Venomous Tidings by Cassia Briar – 5 stars *
Charm is the teaching assistant at Academy Obscura and her parents were murdered a year ago. The person who did it is due to be tried, at least until all the charges are dropped. To make it worse, he’s coming to the school to teach. On top of all of that, the three snake demons who have ravished her dreams, have appeared in her apartment and vowed to grant her her Yule wish…revenge.

I have never heard of this author before this story and now I really want to read more from them. I enjoyed Charm and her snake demons, each one felt like his own being and she had a spunk about her that was very charming; pun intended. The spice was fantastic and just enough peppered into the story that it wasn’t just spice and I was satisfied with the story and the ending of the story. This was one of the best ones so far, really.

* Yuletide Nightmare by Salem Sinclair – 3 stars *
All spice and no substance, was sort of a drag for me to personally make it through this one, but that’s a me issue. There was creative uses of Christmas garland and a wine bottle that made for an interesting time. I was a little disappointed in the story as a whole, was set to give it two stars, but the epilogue was enough to bring it back up. I love a happy ever after. I wasn’t sure this one was going to get that.

* Her Christmas Monster by J.E. Cluney – 4 stars *
Chloe’s boyfriend cheated on her. The dating scene sucks, like really sucks, and she’s going to spend Christmas alone. After buying a cool necklace from an antique shop, then getting stood up by another potential date, she meets Zane; a handsome out-of-her-league man in the café who tells her what her necklace really means she comes face to face with the creature Zane talked about.

It was a very short story, like way super short. I didn’t look ahead so when it suddenly just stopped I was a little stunned. The beginning of it drug on, building up the characters wonderfully. Then we get a chapter when her ex shows up at her door and her monster shows up to rescue her, a sex scene, and then done. It left me flipping the page back and forth to make sure I wasn’t missing something. I was so disappointed; everything else was so good!

*Yuletide Orc by River Star – 4 stars *
Pulled away from the more modern stories, this one took me a bit to get into. I had a hard time believing the main character really was attracted to this orc she supposedly hated. She says how much she hates him, like a lot, a lot a lot. Incessantly so. I was convinced of that, but mortal enemies and still being like “I really want to bang him” is just a meh sort of thing to me. And I love a good enemies-to-lovers.

However, once it got going I was all in. Primal is not my favorite kink to read, it doesn’t do anything for me, because if I am running I am probably going to get murdered when I get caught. No thanks. But this was done so well and had all the little extra bits in it to make it fantastic. I really enjoyed it, it just took me a little while to get there.

* The Grim Reaper’s Girlfriend by Harpie Alexa – 5 stars *
This is the reason I bought this entire anthology. I will read anything that Harpie throws her name on. Could I have bought this anthology to just read this story and feel like I got my money’s worth? Absolutely. It was so cute, and so perfect, it was worth reading all the other stuff before it.

Morgan owns a soap shop, has terrible luck with dating, and has decided that this is the year she takes control of her love life! The next person who walks through her shop door (whose a dude) she is going to kiss! Unfortunately for her it’s Grimm, a Reaper who has come to claim her soul. But, like in the Sims games, she strikes a deal; date me for a week and if you fall in love I get to live.

It was such a cute and fun read, not at all what I was expecting when I saw the stickers Miss Harpie sold and said was connected to her story in this anthology. Was I confused for a bit? Yes. Did I love it anyways? Oh my god yes! I really wish I had more.

* Monster Revealed by Kyla Quinn – 4 stars *
Grace used to be someone else, but she can’t remember who that was. She grew up never knowing her family or what happened to them. But she always saw the same dude in a purple monster costume every year at Halloween. But this year, he came twice, this time at Christmas too.

This story is connected to another one of this author’s series called Ruthless Dark, which I looked at even though she says you don’t need to read them in order to understand or enjoy this one. I agree. It has enough world-building in this short novella to sufficiently explain. However it’s kind of info dumpy, which is always sort of hit or miss, but not too bad.

I enjoyed this one. It was perfectly spicy with a delicious monster, but I struggled with how it ended and the “fuck me or you will be forced to fuck him” followed by “Well now you can’t leave”. I feel like it could benefit from an expansion. Which I really hope comes. I will probably eventually read the main series, because I liked the universe.

* The Grump’s Christmas Pet by Kassandra Cross – 2 stars *
I…am not entirely sure what I just read. To be honest, I didn’t know if I would even really make it through this one. And it’s completely a me thing! The writing as good, which is why I probably eeked it out, but all could picture was Jim Carrey as the Grinch. It was a little too much for me and kept pulling me out of the story when the descriptions would not line up with this mental image my brain had seared into the narrative. I also felt it went from GRUMP to not-grump way too fast, even for a short story. But again that is probably a me issue as well.

* A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap – 4 stars*
This was a fun read, very fast paced and just a fun premise. Elda is a witch, a repair witch and her grandmother sent her a present marked “Open before Christmas”. Inside a statue of a demon with a very erect member. A few rubs on it later, hoping it would give her three wishes, Elda sets it aside with every intention of returning said odd gift back to her grandmother. Unfortunately, the next morning she is greeted by a big green horned demon making her breakfast naked.

It really was a very cute story where Elda tries to free this demon that it bound to serve her until she gives his statue away to someone else. And he serves her, very well, on the kitchen counter, at the shop where she is working, and in the closet at her family’s Christmas party. The pace was too fast for me, but the limited anthology word count is to blame. This would be such a fun full-length novel and I really look forward to seeing what else this author has written. It was good.

* Monsters in my Stockings by Salem Cross – 5 stars*
Brummer and Cituck are a bonded pair of Gargoyles cursed by witches to die in less than a week. Misty is a Stone Witch visiting her grandparents when she stumbles into them and finds out they are her mates. Now she has to figure out how to break the curse to save her Gargoyle mates before Christmas or they will die a horrible death.

This was a great story, possibly one of the best ones in the whole anthology. The relationship between Brummer and Cituck is cute, even with the intense BDSM aspect to it. Misty gets involved and I think it is even better. It’s a cute poly story where everyone loves everyone, which I find the most satisfying. Misty is interesting, the plot she stumbles into is interesting and it’s not just about the spice (though that’s *chef’s kiss*). Did I guess it? Yes. Do I care? No. I loved it.

* Be Not Afraid by C. Rochelle – 5 stars*
When the first trigger warning said “So much blasphemy” I sort of snorted and rolled my eyes, that’s funny but okay. When I say this story is SO MUCH blasphemy, I mean it probably should have been repeated as a trigger warning just for extra oomph. This story is almost 100% all blasphemy and I loved every second of it. It made the story more fun, and amusing to me because I am a rude and making fun of the religious stuff that caused me trauma when I was younger slowly fixes holes in my soul.

It was a very unique story. Unique monster. Just different from anything else I had read and it was almost impossible to put down for me. Was fantastic.

* Merry Monsters by Rena Marks – 5 stars*
The only other author in this anthology I recognized besides Harpie Alexa and I was not disappointed in this one at all. Rena is great and this story was super fun. A gargoyle and a gorgon? Yes.

This one was a little different, were most ménage stories you have everyone playing nice and everyone does everyone, this one was two best friend who were not really into each other that way and the girl they both wanted and loved. There are parts of the story where she wants them to play with each other and they just sort of look at each other like “are we really?” and the answer is “of course we are.”

Merry and her monsters were perfect for each other and the drama surrounding it as fantastic. The ending was by far the best and cutest ending in the whole anthology. Loved this one so much. I would read more from this world, give me all the books Rena!

* The Holly and the Oak by Poppy Jackson & Honor St. Jean – 1 star/DNF*
This was a no for me. The writing was good, and the monsters were very unique, but the whole premise gave me the ick in a way books usually can’t. So that is very much a me thing. I know there is going to be lots of people out there who are going to drool over this one but just not me.

She is trying to provide for her siblings, desperate for food so she pushes further into the forest knowing she shouldn’t. There she runs into the Holly King, a skull-faced monster who says “Run. You get out and you’re free. I catch you and you’re mine.” It’s primal but not in the consensual way. Even after begging and pleading to be let go, and saying no multiple times, she still has strange fantasies about how warm and “Safe” she was in his arms.

As she is running she gets caught by the Oak King, a more tree-like creature who rips her clothes and basically says “Mine.” That was as far as I got before I decided I wasn’t going to push through this one.

* Yule Tied by Cara Bryant – 1 star/DNF*
This isn’t something that happens to me often, a DNF is rare, two in a row is like astronomical. I didn’t get far into this one, but me and the main female character were not vibing. I found her to be annoying and the references were painful…she was trying way too hard to be Indiana Jones and Lara Croft all rolled up into one very special and super awesome unknown magical being. Oh and she was such an amazing treasure liberator, she was a grave robber, plain and simple. Breaking into tombs and getting artifacts for money is grave robbing. Pass.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be heavily invested in a Christmas anthology filled with monster smut, I would have laughed in your face, but here we are, and holy shit. You guys. Monsters and Mistletoe is all of the amazing, wild, completely and ridiculously hot hot hot monster fudging content that you need this holiday season. It’s the icing on your cookie, the lights on you tree and the sugar in your plums.

Thoughts:
Dub con and CNC are hard for me to get into knowing that we only have 100 pages. So it’s difficult for me to get that connection between characters because it starts off so rocky where as you normally have this immense connection over time afterwards and it heals the wounds that normally are slightly associated with dub con. However, this book is very blasé about it.

I got an arc for C. Rochelle’s short story, Be Not Afraid, and I absolutely love it!

I’m slowly getting into the holiday spirit with my christmassy reads, and this story is perfect for those, as me, are still with a whole foot on Halloween. 😅
Actually, that’s where it starts. Mags is on her November 1st walk of shame when she stumbles upon the male perfection of Dadd…Father Brennan. They have a little flirting thing and she runs away, but can’t stop thinking about that fine specimen for the following weeks.
At the first chance she gets, she goes right back to the church doorway. But Father Brennan isn’t a regular priest, and things only get weirder when he sent his angel buddy (mind you, biblical angel, not renaissance painting angel) to keep her ~company~ at night. A very delightful company.
Mags will soon figure out a lot of stuff about angels, Father Brennan and her whole life.
I love C.’s fmcs and Mags wasn’t different. She’s completely blasphemous, funny and a proud unapologetic hoe.
Father Brennan is a snack, instant crush for me. 🤤
This throuple was great, I wish I could read more about them, but is amazing how C. fits a very nice and interesting plot in such a limited space. And she also fills this plot with a lot of profanities and snarky remarks.
Totally recommend for those of you who wish for a more…monstrous Christmas. 🤭

This is a review for Be Not Afraid by C. Rochelle in this anthology. I always forgot how much her writing makes me laugh. Mags and Conor’s irreverent story hit close to home for me as a lapsed Catholic. It was everything I wanted from biblically accurate angels and a hot hot father who makes me want to go to confession. Forgive me father?5/5 would read again and purchase a physical copy.

I READ THIS BOOK FOR ONLY RACHEL CALLAHAN PART. SORRY BUT RACHEL IS MY FAVE AUTHOR AND I JUST WANT TO READ HER PART AND NOT OTHERS🤣🤣😂🙏🏼 AND AS ALWAYS… RACHEL REALLY DELIVERS A GREAT STORY EVEN THOUGH IS A SHORT ONE 😍😍😍

If you never read from this author then read my other reviews from her other books😍 Little explanation: The author writes RH love stories which means the heroine will have two or three male to be her boyfriend or love... But the heroes only loves the heroine, they do not mind sharing the heroine with another male because usually the other males are their brothers or same creature ect. And the author make sure the heroine loves and treats her heroes equally…. And the romance oh my goodness the author never failed to deliver the romance! Always the best 😍 at least for me tho lol

Not too heavy and also not boring at all! I just got my wisdom teeth removal so a book like this really just the one i need. A hot romance, safe love story with a very possessive protective alpha male, not too heavy and not too dark love story even tho the characters are dark creatures but the story of the romance is not a dark one (so I won’t do much of thinking lol), and the characters overall are very interesting and a fun one. This author always delivers great book and always my type of book seriously! This author is my top five favorite ones! 😍😍😍❤️

The story starts with the heroine is doing her job at a big company. She’s very close with her co worker who’s name ethan and he always lovely to her for two years. While she was working, the assistant of the CEO called her to go to the CEO office immediately. The heroine goes the office of the CEO for the first time. She was worried but also can’t wait to hear what is going on, why the CEO called her to the office… When the heroine got there, she saw the CEO. And the CEO is another one of her heroes she’s supposed to be with, but she didn’t know that. Meanwhile the CEO knows because he is a supernatural being and he can feel that the heroine is the mate of his when he first look at her in his office. And that’s where the heroine got to meet one of the heroes, and follow up with two heroes after that…

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️NO SEPARATION

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROES ARE OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE.

The hero number one name Ethan: Ethan is very sweet, although he’s been working with the heroine side by side every day for the past two years he never mentioned the heroine that she is his mate which is crazy and unfortunate. But gladly he really tell her and also kissed her for the first time. Ethan is also charming and always make sure the heroine is safe. And also ethan has been stalking the heroine for two years as well as a monster in disguise outside of her apartment. Ethan is a gargoyle.

The hero number two name is Soren. Soren is a shadow monster, he has been watching the heroine for many years he said. But in a human time, that was a short time. Soren meet the heroine in her dreams and soren fight his way to the heroine’s world to be with her physically after he kissed her for the first time in her dreams… Soren is also sweet, he calls the heroine “my love” in the first times he officially with the heroine. Soren always kissed the heroine’s forehead🥺❤️

Third and last hero name Fynn. Fynn at the first time when he first saw the heroine, he can’t believe that she was his mate all along and decided to be an as$hole to her 😂 Fynn is not too sweet like others to the heroine but he is charming and loving to the heroine. Fynn is a elf monster…
or i imagine him being a legolas one🤣🤣😝😝

All the heroes are over the top possessive protective alpha male. The heroes loves and obsessed with the heroine so much like she is the air for them to breathe 🥺🥺

All the heroes are not a manwhor3. I love that the author always make sure the heroes are not a manwhor3 😍

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE omg i love her so much! I love the author always writes a great heroine! cause is always very interesting and a fun character to read! 😍 the best part is that the heroine never push the heroes away and always just go with it when the heroes told her that she is their mate and what they truly are. She doesn’t ask many questions! Seriously the best. And the heroine is always so mature! Not a childish crazy one😂 And the best part about the heroine, she is stubborn, smart and sassy (but not too much) and the heroes always loves that about her! 😍😍😍 When the heroine is being sassy and talk back, the heroes never mad about it and never questioned the heroine. They always so proud of her and love her even more. Isn’t that the best🥺🥺🥺❤️

And of course the heroine is very beautiful! 😍

‼️‼️‼️NO PUSHING AWAY. Damn that’s why i love about the author. The author make sure the heroine is not childish or cringe af 🤣 cause some other books that have shifters supernatural love story, damn the heroines there are so freakin annoying that they push the hero away just because the hero is some creature. But this heroine on this book and on any other book from this author, the heroine never push the hero away….

‼️‼️‼️NO EX FVCK BUDDY OR EX GIRLFRIEND BOYFRIEND EVER SHOWS UP OR IN A CONVERSATIONS.

‼️‼️‼️NOT TOO MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM EACH OF THE CHARACTERS. ONLY A FEW 🙏🏼

‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES🥵🥵🤩🤩🤩 The way the heroes really worship and loves the heroine’s body😍

‼️‼️‼️Very great chemistry between the couple🥺☺️☺️ You can feel the romance!

‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS

‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM

‼️‼️‼️DUAL POV

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. They were together after few months later of course and obviously will be together forever because the heroine is the ultimate mate of the heroes😍😍😍

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

I read yule tied by Cara Bryant and it's a fantastic spicy monster romance. Lucy is a thief and she's made a deal with darkness to get money for the shadow home. She's to steal the sun shard and give it to him. One problem though, everytime she tries they sink into her. Can she figure out her problem? And how will the men she left behind feel when she suddenly returns? Read and find out

5 ⭐️ Steam: 4/5. Strong Language: 0.5/5 Characters: 5/5. Plot: 4.5/5

This review is for ‘The Holly and the Oak’ by Honor St Jean

Triggers: K!nk, Mild V!olence

Lark is living a hand to mouth existence. Times have been harsh and she is responsible for four younger siblings. With food supplies scarce, she sets out into the woods to hunt for game. Knowing she could face untold dangers at the hands of the mysterious Deities that rule the forest, she braves the perils for her family.

It doesn’t take long before our plucky heroine finds herself at the mercy of The Oak and The Holly Kings. These ancient Gods each rule over a season and fight each other for supremacy. The one thing they both agree on, they need a sacrifice, and Lark will do nicely.

Can one find strength in submission? Is there anything you would not sacrifice to save the ones that you love?

This is a richly told interpretation on the old folklore. The plot is filled with drama, steam, plenty of spice, angst, and romance. It still stays true to the pagan mythology of the Summer and Winter Solstice Rulers. Honor St Jean takes an old legend and turns it into a modern day, smutty classic. Wonderful characters and writing.

I was very lucky to receive the entire book early from Salem Cross and read all 16 amazing stories before it came out. I honestly loved this entire book, the entire thing was so much fun to read. The vast variety of monsters, worlds, FMCs, drama, problems, and just everything. There is something for everyone in this Anthology, from MF, Menage, Why Choose, to Monsters that are full fledged monsters all the time to some who have human forms. Also each story has its own set of TW/CW so before starting each story just make sure to read those pages.

Why Choose:

#1 - A Monster Axe-Mas by Luna Pierce 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - First thing, I LOVED how Luna fit in the Axe into this story, I laughed and was so happy. Jessa the FMC is super relatable she's going through some rough times, she was betrayed by her ex and her ex best friend. Tobias, Rosco, and Clover are demons, they possess certain powers and what Jessa deems them is HILARIOUS and it makes them made. I giggled at their antics. In this story there's a bit of revenge, growly possessive monsters, a bit of magic, and an interesting twist at the end.

#2 - Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - This story is super cute, it's a bit of 'corporate life', paranormal, and rom-com all in one. Clara our FMC is an under appreciated hard worker, who's also extremely talented at her job. She designs the Santa areas for a certain brand of malls, with the help of her co worker Ethan. Ethan and her have crushes on each other, and resist the pull towards one another due to them working together. Flynn, the CEO, oh man I wanted to sock him when we meet him, but he's got some good qualities. Sorian, almost like a dark horse, but a sweetheart, he's so good to Clara and I love his dynamic in this group.

#3 - Wild for Yule by Yve Vale 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - I liked that this group was already established when we meet them. Darius who's a hellhound, Raithe a large Phoenix, and Amira a very strong witch are all together. They've all got some dark pasts, but they are good to each other and making their best decisions now that they are able to. Rowe who's a Stag/Elven Royalty is on the run, literally, and stumbles upon their cabin. It's a bit of a darker story, taking chances, trusting when there's plenty of reasons not to. I liked the difference of this story, and that it's an established relationship and adding to the group.

#4 - Venomous Tidings by Cassia Briar 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - I was so excited to read this story when I recognized the author! She wrote Academy Obscura series and this story takes place in the same world. But you won't be lost if you haven't read that series yet. Charm the FMC is the assistant to the magical charms teacher, and is hit with some very troubling news before the Winter Solstice. After drinking a bit too much she summons 3 snake demons, Drake, Arik & Ty. There is vengeance, monsters that meet her in her dreams, ☠️, a bit of dealing with grief and so much more. I'd love to see their relationships develop more in a future story!

MF:

#5 - Yuletide Nightmare by Salem Sinclair 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - I haven't heard of this author yet, but this story was very unique. It's a bit of monster 🌶, with a splash of festive fun. Yule and Mari are our couple and one hates the holidays, the other is somewhat of a ghost. He only appears on Christmas to her and they enjoy each for a night of yummy fun. I liked this story a lot!

#6 - Her Christmas Mosnter by J.E. Cluney 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - I was excited to read this story, I loved Corviticus University which was my first ever PNR why choose book. The FMC Chloe has not had great luck in the dating scene, and when she's stood up she meets a great guy. There's more to him than meets the eye in a good way, and he's protective of her. Her ex makes an appearance and the monster reveals himself. It's a great plot line with finding happiness, and knowing that waiting for it to come sometimes is half the battle.

#7 - Yuletide Orc by River Starr 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - This is such a different story and I enjoyed it! It's a bit of enemies to lovers, a bit of steam, and forced proximity. Elysia is a mage that's been sent to battle Orcs that are surrounding the town. The problem is that there is a treaty between the village and the Orcs, the same village she was sent to protect. This lead Elysia to battle the Orc Cheiftain Bikkar who has a scary nickname the BoneCrusher. They are not strangers to each other having engaged in battle before, after betrayal Bikkar helps Elysia.

#8 - The Grim Reaper's Girlfriend by Harpie Alexa 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - I was so intrigued by the name of this story! It made me so interested in reading it, since the grim reaper is always associated with ☠️, you wonder exactly how this all will work out. Morgan, our FMC is a shop owner, and she was so ready to take charge of her love life, with a bit of mistletoe. After Grim enters her life, she tries to broker a deal, it's got a bit of rom-com vibes with some hilarious moments. I'd like to see their life together 😉.

#9 - Monster Revealed by Kyla Quinn 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - This story is one of the darker ones in this antho. There's a bit of mystery, secrets, trouble, heartbonded, and interesting scenes (aka appendages). Grace has memory loss, and only knows one thing for sure, each Halloween she sees the same monster, but she sees him again too soon, but why? Micah, ugh he's a bit of a jerk, but it's because he's keeping secrets, there's other great attributes too. This is part of a series, but it doesn't need to be read in order to understand it.

#10 - The Grump's Christmas Pet by Kassandra Cross 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - This story, oh my gosh was it hilarious! It's rom-com meets how the Grinch Stole Christmas! I loved the FMC Noelle, even though she loves all things Christmas, she wanted to spend it traveling alone. She gets to a cute little town called Misty Mountain and while on an adventure she comes across a monster in a cave. The ending is utterly adorable.

#11 - A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - This one I had so many laughs, and I really liked the underlying message that was towards the end of the story. The 🌶 tension was one of the most tense I've read in a long time. Elda opens up a package from her grandmother, just a few days before Christmas, and it's Jubal, a genie. A very special type of demon 😉, who hasn't been out of his statue form for a long time. Such a good story!

Menage:

#12 - Monsters in my Stockings by Salem Cross 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - I first learned of this Antho from Salem's a r c group, and I was so excited to be able to read about Misty, Cituck & Brummer. For this story our monsters are both Gargoyles, they're forms slightly differ and they themselves are mates. Misty is a witch from the US that is in London visiting her grandparents! The pull to her mates, and an unknown object is strong, and I love that the FMC knows of the world of monsters, and didn't need to be introduced. This story was quick but SO good and I loved the dom/sub dynamic between the two gargoyles and when Misty is introduced into the relationship, she fits seamlessly.

#13 - Be Not Afraid by C. Rochelle 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - This story, WOW, just WOW. It was incredibly different and just such a different twist, on monsters, angels, and a few other things. This is a lead up of a new universe from the author for 2023, so I'm very excited we get to see more! There is a lot going on in this short book, but we've got dealing with grief for parents and a friend. Magdalena, is our FMC and meets a very interesting person on her walk home, and her life isn't the same. There's a bit of stalking, by her two love interests, Kabiel and Sariel. Also their fun parts 😉, so fun to read.

#14 - Merry Monsters by Rena Marks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - This story was cute, I love that the human world and monster world were trying to live cohesively together. It's a bit of a struggle for obvious reasons but I liked that our FMC Merry seeked refuge within the monster's world and was able to get some freedom. Her monsters Dolion who's a Gorgon and Bragg who's half Gargoyle, are protective of her. There's a lot going on in this story, fated mates, protective monsters, sassy FMC, cute moments, and some secrets.

#15 - The Holly & The Oak by Poppy Jacobson & Honor St. Jean 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - This was such an interesting story, the two monsters, and the FMC, and the plot! Lark, is the FMC, and the eldest child with younger siblings, and is in charge of taking care of her family. When she ventures into the forest, which she knows isn't a good idea, but she's desperate to help her family. She meets the Holly King and Oak King, who are in charge of the changes of the seasons, and are at war with each other. They're both alpha-holes, they can be helpful, they're dynamic towards each other (so much hatred), and how they are with her. Lark is so smart too, she uses her knowledge of their stories to be able to stay alive.

#16 - Yule Tied by Cara Bryant 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 - This story is incredibly interesting, the FMC Lucy is under a bad guys thumb and in the need to obtain money to keep living, she's a thief. And her biggest and most difficult thievery to date, is proving to be very difficult. Her latest victims were Incubus- Yaelin and a Demon- Reznik, and they dealt with a lot when she was in their life and abruptly left. After somethings happen, the 3 of them have to work together in order to protect one another, which can be difficult. Especially after trust is broken, but with there knowledge that things need to happen, they move past it all. I liked the different take on the abilities of monsters, different powers, and what happens to Lucy during the entire story.

I would definitely read longer books of all of these characters! They were so much fun to read, and all of the stories are so unique it made me want to read more. I also got to learn about new to me authors that I either hadn't read before or haven't heard of. Another amazing Antho to read perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

Monsters in My Stockings is a Novela in the Monsters and Mistletoe Anthology. This particular story was written by Salem Cross. If your looking for a way to stay warm this holiday you’ve found it. This was definitely a spicy little number. Cursed gargoyles, evil witches and mates need I say more! My only complaint is that I needed more. I’ll definitely be giving the rest of the stories a go. As always make sure your comfortable with what your reading. Some violence, a whole lotta spice, MMF Supernatural age/gap. Happy Reading Book Besties💙

Monsters and Mistletoe

A Monster Axe-Mas by Luna Pierce

“After you summoned me. You were quite…inebriated….and you offered yourself to me and my brothers.”

Leave it to me to try to fuck multiple creatures from another world.

⭐3 /5⭐I love the characters. Justice for Rosco though, there wasn't a lot of development or main story time for him. Would have loved more one on one and actual time at the Christmas party where Aaron saw Tobias and felt jealous. A few missed opportunities and not enough smut for me. But it was still really fun to read.

Content Warning: Anxiety. Cheating (in the past). Deceased parents. Panic attack. Dread. Betrayal. Stress. Deceased grandmother. Blood. Fear. Murder. Memory loss. Mental health. Forceful touching. Death. Deceased parents. Gaslighting. Mention of suicide.

Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan

“How long have you been watching me?”

“I don’t know how long it’s been in human years, but it’s felt like an eternity to me,”

⭐3 /5⭐ Clara has three mates and we get to find out who they are. They were sweet but it was extremely fast paced and very anticlimactic with her response to them.

Wild For Yule by Yve Vale

“I wish I could have shown you the love I know I have already in my heart for you. I wish I could have worshiped you for a thousand years. Catered to your every whim. Protect you. Place a smile upon your face from humor or from ecstasy. But a simple kiss is all I will have to share. And I deserve no more.”

⭐5 /5⭐ I loved everything about this. I will check out more from this author!

Content Warning: Wild For Yule is a MMFM romance. The heroine of the story finds an HEA with three love interests. Scenes are explicit with multiple partners at the same time and include Male on Male sex. There are dark themes, including death and killing. Other potential triggers include: primal chase and frenzied sex. It also has bdsm themes such as use of restraints, orgasm denial, praise kink, spanking, and sub/dom play. All sexual situations are consensual. This list may not cover everything that one might find triggering.

Venomous Tidings by Cassie Briar

⭐2 /5⭐ This would have been so much fun if the main character wasn't so effing annoying and the smut scenes didn't suck ass. Six cocks between the three of them and it still wasn't enjoyable to read.

Yuletide Nightmare by Salem Sinclaire

Content Warning: Body image issues, specifically dealing with height. Mention of deceased parents. Some light BDSM scenes where the roles are reversed and she is in charge. A ghost that is quite literally hung like a horse. Improper use of wine bottles and great mismanagement of wine. Body worshipping. Short king. If you were here for the first three books, you know to expect kink outside the norm, but nothing too dark. I’ve also taken great liberties with the legend of Mari Lwyd. So if you’re looking for something historically and regionally accurate, then this is not the story for you. Also, when I ordered the cover, Mari was TALL in my head, so the man on the cover is taller than the woman. However, as I was writing, Mari made it very clear that his BDE made him seem tall, but he’s actually shorter than Yule. So, please excuse the inconsistency. It’ll be altered eventually.

⭐4 /5⭐ Meri and Yule were so sweet together. The only nightmare about this story is all the exhausting stretching this girl's pussy does. I need a nap just after reading it.

Her Christmas Monster by J.E. Cluney

⭐3 /5⭐ the ending was so confusing. I know it's a novella but come on you can't end a story without actually having an end goal. It doesn't make sense and in the end it isn't satisfying.

Yuletide Orc by River Starr

Content Information: primal, light bondage
“You would enjoy this. Being held down and punished. Have you always wanted to be mine? Have you always wanted me to chase you down and fuck you in the woods?”

⭐5 /5⭐ A perfect enemies to lovers novella. Bikkar and Elysia were so fun to read about. She got on my nerves so much but Bikkar was perfect and the smut was nicely done.

The Grim Reaper’s Girlfriend by Harpie Alexa

“Take me, Grimm.” “Oh, I will, Morgan. I will take you right here and then I will take you back to the afterworld, where you will be my little soul to claim forever.”

⭐2 /5⭐ very boring and I did not like the fmc.

Monster Revealed by Kyla Quinn

Content warnings: attempted SA (not the hero)

⭐2 /5⭐ I did not like this fmc at all. She was very unattached to the love interest and while I'm all for sexual freedom and women just fucking to fuck. It's not very romantic when its a novella and all you get is her attitude like, “sure I'll continue fucking this monster who is in love with me even though I think he is crazy and I'm planning on leaving him eventually” and then it ends?! Yeah, real romantic jesus christ.

The Grump’s Christmas Pet by Kassandra Cross

⭐5 /5 ⭐ The Grinch porn was exactly what I needed this holiday season. Omg Noelle and the Grump were so cute together. I honestly wanted more. More smut and more celebrating Christmas.

A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap

“My name is Jubal. I made breakfast. I hope you like it. If not, please feel free to beat me, because I most certainly will deserve it."

⭐3 /5⭐ a very cute and easy read. Super funny in the beginning.

Monsters in my Stockings by Salem Cross

⭐3 /5⭐ This is a really easy read and also an easily resolved plot. Like, they tried for over a century to break the curse and this floofy American comes along and is basically like, “omg no worries, i can do that in a jiffy.” And she does! 😅

Be Not Afraid by C. Rochelle

Content Notes: MM, sweary dialogue and naughty humor, taboo/religious/priest fetish, primal chase, role play, orgasm denial/edging, spanking, use of toys, medium-dark with general weirdness. Potential Triggers: So much blasphemy, horror vibes, parental neglect and past betrayal by a close friend, mild (but devoted) stalking by sexy psychopath monster, hint of consensual somnophilia.

As a recovering Catholic, there was nothing I loved more than taking the Lord’s name in vain—preferably while taking a cock up the ass.

⭐4 /5⭐ creative and spicy as hell

Christmas Eve Merry Monsters by Rena Marks

She’s so beautiful, being filled by my best friend. I can’t look away from her pussy. From my best friend’s massive cock.

“Make her come and fill her up,” I agree. “Fuck all your cum into that sweet little human pussy, Bragg. I want to watch.”

⭐5 /5 ⭐ this was so well done and felt good. I loved Bragg and Dolion as besties but there was definitely some sexual tension between the two and I wanted that to play out more. Merry was a great fmc. It was a novella so we didn't get a whole lot of detail but we got the jist of her character and she was fun to read about. The trio didn't disappoint and the epilogue was so freaking cute.

< b>The Holly and The Oak by Poppy Jacobson & Honor St. Jean

In this story, you will find dubcon, impact play, primal play, bondage, and knife play, with a truly uneven power differential. It is a monster romance, and you can expect the heroine to have first reluctant, and then enthusiastic and joyous sex with monsters. If any of that gives you pause, this may not be the story for you. But if all that sounds amazing, keep reading. I think you’ll love it.

⭐2 /5⭐ loved the idea but I didn't like how there was so much angst. I didn't like how she had a whole other love interest during her separation from the kings. Like Will was so much better for him than those fucking airheaded kings who literally fought over who would kill her first. I wish Will wasn't involved at all, and through the gifts the kings gave her as apologies, and with her changes she chose to go back to them.

Yule Tied by Cara Bryant

Yule Tied is intended for mature audiences only. It features sexual situations, including: spanking, pegging, male/male and male/male/female scenes, bondage, light domination, toys, demonic sex magic, and tails doing inappropriate things. All sexual situations are consensual.

⭐2 /5⭐ this was cute I guess. I just couldn't get over how unserious our fmc was and that made it not very enjoyable. Our mmc were amazing and gems. I love how attentive they are to her. The little nicknames made me kick my feet.

This story may be short, but it’s definitely not sweet and packs quiet the dirty steamy twists and turns that Rochelle is the queen of delivering.

A Monster Axe-mas by Luna Pierce will have you moaning for more, more, more! When out fmc Jessa heads tk the story for some last minute needs before the holiday she wasn’t expecting to have a run in with her ex-fiancé and the ex best friend who stole him away! This was such a fun read i will definitely be reading it again before the holiday ends.

Did you ever find yourself attracted to the Ents (tree men) in LOTR? No... me neither... but now, maybe?!

I don't know what to say....not something I thought I'd be into, but apparently, when written the right way, I am!

The Holly and The Oak story within this anthology contains primal play; a bit of paganism; a touch of praise; some BDSM themes and some transformative magic.

If you enjoyed Honors "Their Monstrous Natures", this anthology will definitely be for you.
If you haven't read anything by Honor/Poppy but enjoy MFM with fantasy/fae/paranormal, this anthology is definitely for you.

RATING: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
GENRE: Paranormal, Monster Romance
TYPE: Anthology
STORIES: 16 stories (1100+ pages)
Will I re-read it? Maybe some of the stories.
This anthology was read on Kindle and hence, number of pages might differ from other versions/readers.

Generally a very well balanced anthology with good and entertaining stories. There is definitely a little something for everyone here. Some stories were a bit darker and others were light and funny. I will definitely revisit some of these stories!

Short review for each story below.

A Monster Axe-Mas (c. 88 pages) by Luna Pierce.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Jessa accidentally summons three monsters and makes a deal.
Includes: (M/F/M/M) Human x Demons, RH, A lil’ bit of murder, mentioning of mental health
A sweet story about revenge with a fake boyfriend. It was enjoyable but I would have wished for a better “balance” in the group. Some characters felt unnecessary in the story since they didn’t get that much involvement/spotlight.

Her Christmas Monsters (c. 75 pages) by Rachel Callahan.
Rating: 3 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2.5 / 5 🔥
Clara is working hard to make her project at work a success but everything gets complicated.
Includes: (M/F/M/M) Human x Shadow monster & Gargoyle & Elf, RH, Shadow tentacles
An okay, entertaining read. Some parts felt a little bit dragged out and some a bit too rushed.

Wild for Yule (c. 68 pages) by Yve Vale.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Amira’s mates get taken into the Wild Hunt, which forces her to get involved.
Includes: (M/F/M/M) Witch x Hellhound & Phoenix & Fae-kin, MM, Knotting, Primal
A really interesting story and plot. But, this story did not quite feel like a standalone, more like a short story connected to a larger one. You got background information about the characters but it was almost like the characters should already be established for the reader.
Except for that part, it was an enjoyable read!

Venomous Tidings (c. 75 pages) by Cassia Briar.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Charm accidentally summons three snake demons and decides to get their help for revenge.
Includes: (M/F/M/M) Witch x Snake Demons, RH, Lil’ bit of murder
I enjoyed it but would have wished for a bit more of relationship building in the story.

Yuletide Nightmare (c. 23 pages) by Salem Sinclair.
Book #5 in the Monsters of Grimlake Series
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3.5 / 5 🔥
Yule does not like Christmas but Mari makes it quite joyful.
Includes: (M/F) Human x Ghost, Stretching a special place
Wow, super steamy and such an enjoyable, hot read. I really wished it was longer!

Her Christmas Monster (c. 42 pages) by J.E. Cluney.
Rating: 3 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Chloe's dating life is far from a success but everything changes when she buys a necklace.
Includes: (M/F) Human x Verjanor, Mentioning of DV
Overall a nice read but a few sentences and parts were unnecessary, especially in a short story like this and therefore the ending felt short and rushed.

Yuletide Orc (c. 68 pages) by River Starr.
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Elysia gets captured by the orc chieftain Bikkar but is shown mercy.
Includes: (M/F) Human/Mage x Orc, Mentioning of death and violence
I really liked this story and it captivated me. I do wish it was longer and that we could get more of Bikkar!

The Grim Reaper’s Girlfriend (c. 60 pages) by Harpie Alexa.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Morgan tries to make a deal with the Grim Reaper.
Includes: (M/F) Human x Reaper, Death
A sweet story that made my heart ache a bit. The characters were sweet and perfect for each other.

Monster Revealed (c. 67 pages) by Kyla Quinn.
Connected to the Ruthless Dark world
Rating: 2 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Grace has met a stranger at a club but realizes that something is strange with him.
Includes: (M/F) Human x Monster
It started out well but went outhill. I couldn’t stand the characters and the repeating information. They talked about the same things over and over again…

The Grump’s Christmas Pet (c. 29 pages) by Kassandra Cross.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Noelle accidentally gets stuck in a cave that is already occupied by a green, furry monster who hates Christmas.
Includes: (M/F) Human x Grumpy, furry monster
Short, fun and entertaining. I wish it was a bit longer!

A Monsterful Christmas (c. 41 pages) by Elizabeth Dunlap.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Elda’s grandmother sends her an early Christmas gift which aims to please.
Includes: (M/F) Witch x Demon, Servitude spell
A quick, sweet and enjoyable story. A little bit exaggerated in some details.

Monsters In My Stockings (c. 106 pages) by Salem Cross.
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Misty hears callings from stones and one night, finds a pair of different ones.
Includes: (M/M/F) Witch x Gargoyles, Swords are crossing
Definitely a well written and enjoyable story. It really felt like a shorter book and it had lovely characters.

Be Not Afraid (c. 55 pages) by C. Rochelle.
Rating: 3.5 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Magdalena accidentally follows a priest into a church, dressed up as a nun which will change everything.
Includes: (M/F/M) Human x Angels, Swords are crossing, Priest kink, Blasphemy
This was a fun and entertaining story. Did not disappoint but could maybe be a little bit clearer in some details.

Merry Monsters (c. 84 pages) by Rena Marks.
Rating: 2 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 2 / 5 🔥
Merry moves to a town filled with monsters to avoid her ex and gets tangled up with two of them.
Includes: (M/F/M) Human x Gorgon & Gargoyle, Very little sword-crossing, Insta-love, mentioning of previous abuse
I didn’t quite like the writing and a lot of things were repeated and sometimes unclear. It was a bit too much insta-love and playing happy family for my taste.

The Holly and The Oak (c. 103 pages) by P. Jacobson & H. St. Jean.
Rating: 4 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Lark has to go out into the woods to hunt for her family and gets taken by two kings.
Includes: (M/F/M) Human x Gods, Primal, Lil’ bit of pain and knife play
I really liked the writing and this story! An entertaining plot and characters. Will definitely check in the authors and read more from them.

Yule Tied (c. 104 pages) by Cara Bryant.
Rating: 3 / 5 ⭐
Spice: 3 / 5 🔥
Lucy is a thief and likes stealing shiny things which will get her in trouble.
Includes: (M/M/F) Human x Demons, Swords are crossing
An okay read. It had its moments but it was sometimes hard to follow (especially in the beginning).

Why Choose

A Monster Axe-Mas by Luna Pierce ✩✩✩/5
- story was okay. I'm giving it a 3 because as much as I thought the plot was good there was a loophole that I couldn't get past. How did she have magic? And how was she able to summon the demons. It wasn't explained and that was really bothersome to me.

Besides those two points I loved the one guy, I can't remember his name. The one who is off his rocker basically. Yeah he was my favorite.

Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-Gargoyle thats all that matters really. Honestly. If Rachel made this into a full book, I wouldn't be opposed. 😂😂 the story was really amazing. I was hoping that the ceo would have been krampus though that would have been spectacular.

Wild for Yule by Yve Vale ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-I was a little wary of this one, a little confused at first. But I loved the mmfm it was done really well and I loved how they even incorporated Darius accepting Rowe into the bond

Venomous Tidings by Cassia Briar ✩✩✩✩/5
-i was okay with this one. I think it was wrapped up to nicely at the end. Where they conveniently found that passage in that one book... the way her memories came back during the fight was actually really good touch

MF

Yuletide Nightmare by Salem Sinclair
-I had to skip this due to a content warning

Her Christmas Monster by J.E. Cluney ✩✩✩/5
-I like this one enough. I felt that the ending could have been better, or better yet, it didnt end well. to be I wouldnt even call it a HFN or an HEA, as if that would have happened to me, I wouldnt have been so chillaxed. *shrug*

Yuletide Orc by River Starr ✩✩✩/5
-This was an interesting story. I think it could have been a little bit smoother if the author could have written the relationship between the fmc and the mmc more realistic. I did love the fire between them, but it didnt feel like it was real. It felt like it was forced or believeable.

The Grim Reaper's Girlfriend by Harpie Alexa ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-While this story was amazing, it made me sad. I loved Grim. I want to hug him all the time when I think about him. Morgan was a hoot honestly. She is who you want to be friends with!! The sadness comes at the end. Thought the story is a HEA, it wasnt the HEA I was expecting if that makes sense

Monster Revealed by Kyla Quinn ✩✩✩✩/5
-While this story was interesting. I felt it was lacking details. I was still lost about who was who. or where they were, or what they were. I just wish thye gave more background information maybe. Its hard to explain why I loved the story but had these issues, because while this issues bothered me, I can still see that the plot was there and honestly, this author could actually probably expand this into a standalone or even a duet if she tried. I would love to read it if they did.

The Grump's Christmas Pet by Kassandra Cross ✩✩✩✩/5
-They story while weird in its own way was super hott. just read it. lol

A Monsterful Christmas by Elizabeth Dunlap ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-Um. Can i have a cool aunt liker her? I want one of those presents!!! I FRACKING LOVED THIS STORY. Not only was it hilarious, it was sweet and sexy. I'd honestly love to see an extended story on this couple. or maybe even another couple from the same world

Menage Stories

Monsters in my Stockings by Salem Cross ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-GARGOYLES. 5 stars. done. dont even have to read the story. lol This story had a really good plot line, and a good background of the characters. I would have loved to known what happened to the one witch though.

Be not Afraid by C. Rochelle
-The plot was really good. I thought it was super interesting and found myself very entranced with it!
So, I read the content warnings and there was one I was apprehensive about, but I read it anyway. I'm not going to lie, I felt the warning wasn't correct. So, I'm not going to leave a rating but I want it to be a warning to who reads it.

Merry Monsters by Rena Marks ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-Gargolye and a Gorgon?!?! YES GIB MERE. This was a very cute, romantic, and in a weird way HOTTTTTTTT BOOK. Ill let you be the judge of where you think I define the hott moment is!

The Holly and the Oak by Poppy Jacobson & Honor St. Jean ✩✩✩✩✩/5
-1st off, I wasnt planning on crying when I read this piece. But thats exactly what I did at the end. (it was a sad but also happy cry at the same time) This was an amazing piece. One, that I want the author to expand on and be able to read more about the characters. The story kept me entertained and enthralled.

Yule Tied by Cara Bryant ✩✩✩/5
-So as much as I want to give it more than 3 stars I cant. The sex scenes cant make the book. I was confused some of the time. The blurb mentioned she had a time of power of kelpto. Though I never got that feeling from her. That she wasnt just a human who liked to steal something. She kept using the term "demonkin" like she was also demonkin but again I didnt get that feeling. There were times I laughed like when she flashed Khadyr with her lights. That was funny. Also when she was trying to talk about Light Sabers and used her own knowledge to help mold her power into something that she could use. But I'm still at a loss to at what she is. (besides the obvious at the end of the story.)

(@author.rcallahan)

A very naughty Christmas read

This anthology has something for everyone. Whether you like Why-Choose romance, Couples, or Menage there's a story or four in here for you. The first section of the book focuses on Why-Choose. There are four stories in this section one is Wild for Yule by Yve Vale. It involves a hunt during Christmas across realms. It starts out very cozy at a cabin with a hellhound Darius, Phoenix Raithe and Amira a witch celebrating the Yule together when a stranger crosses into their wards. It is hunted man named Rowe who is from another realm. It turns out that Raithe and Amira are both drawn to him, but due to him being hunted they don't do anything to jeopardize they're balance in life. However the following morning that all changes when the king and his horde come looking for Rowe and find him at their cabin. He takes Raithe and Darius with him to chase Rowe for eternity, leaving Amira alone. Making her heart hurt because of her mate bonds with the two. She must find a way to get them back and end Rowes endless hunt. This story happens between two realms and by the end of it you wish you had more of the back story. This was a MMFM story, it had some very spicy scenes in it.
The whole anthology is chock full of monster stories around Christmas, Winter Solstice, Yule Tide and everything you love about the Holiday. The decorations, celebrations, the spicy times... Each story focuses on a different aspect of the Holiday for each individual, getting back at an ex, finding a date, getting a promotion, the changing of the season, solstice, something specific to each FMC. There's something for everyone, MF, MFM, MMFM.
Two other stories that stuck out for me were in the menage side one written by Salem Cross, Monsters in My Stockings. Misty is a stone witch visiting her grandparents in London. While there she receives a calling from stones and answers it, it turns out to be Cituck and Brummer two gargoyles at the church. The church is due to be demolished on Christmas. They were cured by the local Coven and cannot leave the area. Misty it turns out to be the mate to these two gargoyles and has to figure out how to break the curse before Christmas. Can she do it and be their Christmas miracle. This is a MMF story.
The other story was The Holly and The Oak by Poppy Jacobson and Honor St.Jean. This story is based around the winter solstice. Lark is trying to provide food for her family, when the traps are fruitless she walks further into the forest. She doesn't want to go too far because of the solstice and the warring Kings the Oak King and the Holly King. She wanders too far and the Oak King catches her and claims her as his sacrifice. Then the Holly King comes up on them and they begin to fight over her. She gets them to agree to share her and compromise. That's until they get jealous and begin to fight again, she flees back to her home and true to forget them. This story is about the two Kings having to share the seasons and not wanting to give up their hold on the season. It is a MFM story and is very spicy.
All told the book as a whole is very good, they stories are very good and some could be turned into more than just a short story. There are back stories to each couple, how they met, for the established couples and why they were the way they were. The spicy scenes were extra spicy band the monster peen were very interesting. This was a very good read.

There was not a single dud in this anthology. Every single story was different and unique. I'm so glad I picked it up because I'm going to honest I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas themed stories. The ones I've read tended to be too sweet. All these though bring the 🌶 and 🔥 and mesh it with great storytelling.

Her Christmas Monsters by Rachel Callahan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved it! I made the mistake of starting this story right before heading into work and spent the rest of my shift sneaking in a few chapters.

Clara is seeking a promotion at her job and in order to get it she must put up an incredible Christmas display for the company she works for. Unfortunately she has to deal with Flynn her rude demanding boss. Thankfully she has Ethan her incredible coworker to help her out. There's chemistry between the 2 but neither have acted on it. Clara has been having strange dreams and those around her are more than they seem.

Even though the story is short it's a great steamy read. It does a great job of building their relationships up. I would love to see these characters again.

Wild for Yule by Yve Vale ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one was 🥵. I'm talking the 🌶 is there really quick into the story. Amira a witch, Darius a hellhound, and Rathe a phoenix have been together for a while just living their HEA. When helping a stranger brings the wild hunt to their door and takes her mates she must fight to get them back.
Quick absolutely 🌶 read.

Yule Tied by Cara Bryant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the 2nd story I've read by Cara Bryant and I still find it hard to believe she's a new author. She's created such a fun steamy and short story that leaves me wanting more stories set in this universe.

Lucy was an orphan seeking to help her foster father out. To do that she makes a deal with a powerful demon to obtain a powerful object. To obtain it she plays the long con on Reznik and Yaelyn to steal it from them. Too bad she falls for her marks and oh my are their scenes together 🥵. Much more is at stake than she realizes and she can't just go back on her contract if she wants to live.
This story had it all the romance, the action, angst, and 🌶.
