This was the third danmei I started reading in 2019.
It was one of the most shocking things I had ever read, such powerful writing, incredible descriptions, in a way that made me feel like I was living in that world too...
The story was long, but so captivating that I couldn’t stop reading, and I finished all 8 volumes in less than a week.
What a book, truly a masterpiece.
One of the lines that has stayed highlighted in my mind is when he said to Hua Cheng:
“If you don’t know how to live, then live for me.”
It has stayed vivid in my thoughts ever since...
And what a divine love, waiting and striving for years for the one he loved.

The flow of writing takes some getting used to. It's a translation, and it is written more like people speak and live through their day. It felt very dense at first, but, much like Tolkien novel, it's well worth your time. I also enjoyed the first season of the anime this series (Heaven Official's Blessing) got. I'll have to watch season 2 since it's out, and I'm starting book 2.
I really enjoyed this story.
