Sisterhood of the Sword: A Jamie Poole Diary

Rate this book
Jamie Poole had time-traveled to prevent Tristan from manipulating Time by changing one killing hundreds of people. To block his actions, she’d also manipulated Time. Now back in the present, she’s vowed never to do it again. Too many chances to break the timeline. Already she saw changes in her friends and family. Some shifts were subtle. Some more drastic. If she did it again, the consequences could be devastating.
“All paths lead you to me,” Tristan promised her once. And he was right.
She began receiving roses from her deceased grandfather. Then he appeared and revealed the location of a stolen alabaster statue. That detail might have seemed unrelated to Tristan’s crimes, but the statue was of a Druidess—the leader of the murdered people. And the statue contained unknown power.
Jamie and her friend Lenore head for Halifax, Nova Scotia, to retrieve the stolen statue.
That had been a mistake.
Tristan had laid a careful trap. One false move and Jamie found herself falling down a wormhole and backward in Time. Again.
She finds herself in World War II Halifax, a haven to covert Nazi spies and German U-boats prowling the coast of Nova Scotia. A city at war. Tristan is there poised as a Nazi spy, and he wants Jamie’s “help.”
Can she return home? And if so, how fractured will the timeline be? Time is ever shifting, and Tristan has big plans for Jamie. All she wants is to go home and find that everything has returned to normal, but that will never happen. Come with Jamie as she tries to figure out why Tristan is bent on destroying her and those she loves. The answer is not as straightforward as she thinks.
Based on historical events.

For those who enjoy the concepts of time traveling and time paradoxes, the science fiction-adventure 'Jamie Poole Diaries', by Ellen E. Sutherland, is the series for you. Think Indiana Jones meets Dr. Who.

In Sisterhood of the Sword, Jamie travels to Nova Scotia in search of a historic statue. While there she travels to York Redoubt with her friends, falls through a wormhole, and finds herself in World War II, Halifax. Here she must try and stop a psychopath set on changing time. With short diary entries, Ellen makes it easy to follow the course of events in Jamie's life just as if you were traveling right alongside her. The places and street names described in the story are real and locals can easily envision Jamie's travels and even see Halifax as it looked during the Second World War.

For this book, Ellen has a very interesting 4-part Halifax walking tour blogged on her website. This is not only helpful for those who are not familiar with the area but is incredibly interesting for the locals as well.

I look forward to reading more of Jamie Poole's Diaries.
