A template for change

“If you want something in life, you not only need a plan..
But the will”

Determined, resourceful, goal focused, positive, organized, courageous..

Dame Kelly Holmes has these qualities in abundance and yet one would never realize that beneath the tough exterior, is a woman who has doubted herself and has succumbed to depression during dark times. The strongest people however never give up, even when there is no clear direction and hope begins to fade. Through Kelly’s personal experiences she has in essence ‘learnt the hard way’ as to how to cope, ultimately proving that life is not easy or predictable.

Within this consequential colligation of motivational and empowering philosophies, lies a simple undertone of honest sincerity that touches your core.

Components include –
• Establishing and achieving goals
• Mental preparation for any challenges that lie ahead
• Positive mindset
• Acquiring incentive and inspiration
• Overcoming obstacles and unexpected eventualities
• Enjoying the journey..

One particular segment of astute acuteness that I will prise from this particular book, is that our mind can stop us - - or make us, achieve anything if we are so desirous to obtain it!

I wish I had read this a few months ago. This was a helpful, informative and straight talking book. it's a bit more weighted to managing sports training but I suppose that's to be expected. lots of ahha moments and ideas. I particularly connected with the passages discussing lack of confidence and dealing with awkward people. overall a good read and a book you could refer back to when facing challenges.
