About the author

Natalie Grey

42 books92 followers
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

OMG! I couldn't put this down from start to finish!

I am soooo loving these books involving Barnabas - which is kind of funny, as it was Akio who I first had a crush on - and I'm so hoping that there will be more about Barnabas in store for me - and Akio, too, after all, a girl can dream, can't she? Lol

I spent the whole time I was reading Warden, either open mouthed, and gasping, at the rate of death and destruction that was happening to the baddies, or laughing til I cried, as poor Gar went through his metamorphosis into a kiss ass warrior, but the saving grace with every single story so far, in the Kurtherian Universe is that wonderful sense of fun, and the sense of the ridiculous, that tends to leven out the blood and guts!

Not that I mind the blood and guts - if it gets too bad, I kind of skim over the words a little - taking in what's happening, but not thinking too deeply about what I'm actually reading! I couldn't watch this in a film, but I can read it in a book - go figure! Lol

I am so happy that there are so many like minded authors out there, willing to give their all, in order to feed the unquenching hunger of the fans of the Kurtherian Universe - and I'm just so glad that I found my way into it, as it's definitely a great way to be entertained!

Talking of which, it's back to the Ascension Myths for me now, to read book four in the series: Sanctioned - I know I'm going to enjoy it, but let's hope I get as many laughs with this one, as I have with Warden!

Barnabas and Shinigami - An Unbeatable Pair!

If you thought book 2 was fun and exciting, you won't be able to put this one down until the very end! Ms Grey is one in the way she develops characters some times you even feel a little bad when one of the antagonist does - but just a little. 😄 Gar gets to prove himself to be a valuable part of the team and surprises quite a few of the Yennia soldiers as he fought beside Barnabas on the side of good vs evil. The team rescue a couple of prisoners along the way that quickly became allies. Each new character is developed in a way that you feel you know them as well as if you had actually meet them. And it just wouldn't be a KGU book without the humor which carries the book smoothly through the action scenes and the more personal. It's always there to break the tension and keep your blood churning as you go from one scene to another. Some times I would find my self biting my nails to only almost roll on the floor in laughter. Personally, I couldn't put it down until I was through. I found this book to be just what I was looking for and, while there's no clue hanger, it left me hungering for book 4! Highly recommend this book and this series! Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Wow! I can't listen to these books fast enough. Barnabas and Shinigami just keep killing all the bad guys in the universe. And now they only have one left, who threatens to find Barnabas AND kill everyone Barnabas loves, just when he and Shinigami were trying to figure out where he was. AND Barnabas was happy to have gotten the message that he was coming after Barnabas because that meant that all he had to do is wait for the killer instead of looking all over the universe for him.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 16 times.

As for the narration: Chris Andrew Ciulla is inedible with every book he reads.

Barnabas’s journey continues

Barnabas with the help of AI Shinigami is on the trail of the heads of Yennai Corporation to find there secret base and bring the justice. They take on more passengers and Gar’s training progresses to the next level. This story progresses Shinigami’s understanding of what it is to have human traits and her enjoyable interactions with Barnabas and crew. Barnabas is on the trail to dispense justice but you also like how the character is not one dimensional and you see a different side to him in interactions with new characters.

Second Time Is The Charm

This is my second reading of this storyline, I find that reading a book series multiple times is always showing me different perspective to the entire story not just this one book. Barnabas is a man of conviction his team also have shown they are willing to sacrifice to help. The story has relatable characters, they aren't just word filler but people you would like to meet. For me when a story is simple that's when you should looked beyond just the words, great job to the authors and keep up the good work.

Hilarious

Barnabas is dispensing justice and fixing broken innocents that he has picked up along the way. The snarky by play between Barnabas and Shinigami is absolutely uproarious. A small pirate group continuously trys to steal Shinigami with humorous results. They have no clue who they are dealing with. The Yenmai Corporation is a bodacious enemy, guilty of many crimes. I look forward to the next book.

Wowzer to the Kurtherian Degree!

I am a Kutherian fool and yes I've read many multiple times. Natalie you are truly a Goddess of the story tellers within this genre. You story rocks and flows so smoothly, giving us a rare look into the personal side of Barnabas without detracting from the main flow of the story. I have enjoyed you sooo much that I have to check out your other writing. Keep up the great work.

Great character development

Big B is coming out his shell and making friends as he finds his own personal cause to champion, luckily his friends are interesting and can also help and allowing us to get some great action and humour. It's almost a comedy act as he plays straight if sly and Shin plays a developing funny side. A good addition to the KGU and again another nice side series.

Wow! I’m not going to write a synopsis, the author’s description is enough! But I WILL say that Natalie Grey’s characters are so fully fleshed out that you occasionally, almost can’t help feeling bad for a bad guy... Most certainly, you can’t help identifying with the good guys... well... unless... you know, you identify with the bad guys! Enjoy! I lost some sleep because I couldn’t put it down.

Fireball throwing jellyfish ?

Another excellent installment in the vigilante saga. Funny, blood soaked, snarky, surprisingly tender and a chess playing AI. What more could you ask for?
The next installment of course.
I'm addicted so please please don't leave me to long.

Ps when is the Tabitha series coming?
Pps the emails made me ask. It must be subliminal.😉

Another good book.

Another good book. I can see I’m going to like this series - as long as the vengeance of the antagonist doesn’t go too overboard which it can easily do. However, one of the things I liked so much about michael’s monks is the fact he hasn’t goon overboard before and he can still keep a light not with serious matters. Natalie seems to be the same.

Want more

I love this series. All the characters are well written and the interaction between them keeps you reading til the end. There is plenty of action mixed with humor and that really makes the story move. I am looking forward to the next book and hope the series continues for a long time.

This is one of the best series in the Kurithian universe I think. Okay, I say that about most of the series but I really mean it this time! Barnabas has always been a cool character but he is really fleshed out now and his companions are getting to be delicious to read as well. Can't wait for the next book!

This was a very excellent book, five stars from me, fast-paced, fun, plenty of action. Plenty of humor in this book which made me laugh out loud, bring back the Jotin , excellent possibilities . Character, including technology weapons and a Nother character driven personality. Can’t wait for the next book

Improving

Despite my disappointment with earlier books, this one seemed much more like TKU’s earlier style. It was enjoyable and felt like a return to old comrades wrecking Justice upon the universe.

My friend not my enemy.

As with all the book’s that I have read I want to buy every book. And I am in the process of doing just that. As a disabled person it brings me great joy to read about justice in all the series to dates. I just wished that I could get them.

So good!

I've said it so many times before, starting with "Kurtherian Gambit", this series is incredible! Not one book has been a let down, and I'm sure that won't change. So read them all, got it? Good!
