In Your Hands is a short story originally published as part of the Sapphic Sizzle anthology in 2022.
After being single for several years, Manuela is eager to end her dry spell. She tries her luck on a dating app where she encounters Sophia, a confident and straightforward woman. Their instant connection leads them from flirtatious messages to steamy exchanges on the app.
"In Your Hands" follows Manuela as she explores pleasure on her own and later the world of sexting, roleplaying and one-night stands that turn into more.

Johana is a proud Colombian that loves losing herself in stories and fantasy worlds. She loves watching cooking shows, even though she can barely cook, and spending relaxing afternoons reading in her hammock. At risk of becoming a stereotype, she loves to listen to Shakira, Maluma and Karol G, but will always choose tea over coffee.

Her writing is centered on Sapphic stories with romance at their core. She loves fluffy novels where love always wins. She reads and would love to write any genre, but romance and mystery hold a special place in her heart.

Manuela hasn’t had sex in a very long time, and she’s ready to start again. So when she’s messaged by Sophia and some flirty texts, she thinks that maybe there can be something more.

“In Your Hands” is the perfect short story to get you in the mood for some nice and spicy content to add to your 2023 reading challenge. Clocking in at less than 30 pages, Ms. Gavez’ writing and characters click very well that you’re swept into this hot meet-cute that will have you flying through the pages. And if anything, this novella will have readers looking through their Kindle or Amazon account for more books by Ms. Gavez.

Short, yet very sexy 🔥

New-to-me author, but the writing was smart and easy to follow. Now the story itself... very steamy from the get-go! I like to read authors' short stories to see if I'll enjoy their writing - I know they'll be good if they leave me wanting more. Johanna Gavez did not disappoint...I will definitely be reading more from her!
