Omg I absolutely loved this quick fun lil read (TY lily!!!)

The pictures are super high quality and it was fun to learn more about my favorite musician’s style influences and partnerships and such. I only docked one point because I wish it was longer/more in depth in some parts!

I loved how this book focused on Harry's fashion journey, instead of just saying common facts like "DID YOU KNOW? HARRY STYLES WAS IN ONE DIRECTION!". Overall tho, I actually learnt a lot about him in this book and I loved the pictures :)

Was ein Skandal!

I’ll be honest I initially picked this up from the library as a bit of a joke tbh but man … the 5 stars is more than deserved. Like seriously this book existing (whilst Harry is still “active” and “only” has 3 solo albums felt so early (like if this was Bowie I would fully get it and I hope to get to his versions of this book)) but again man was I WRONG.

A bit like the Van Gogh sketchbook I read a few months ago I half was in disbelief at the niche ingenious of something like this existing while reading but also you learn so much obviously about Harry loool but the Marc Bolan appreciation immediately meant it was STAMPED in my book lol but gems here that translate across the board in how to always keep pushing the envelope at whatever level you’re at and even the ways in which you need to keep evolving and not stay stagnant to not only keep it fresh in general but even for yourself. Even small things like I guess just always putting care into whatever as you don’t know what will “take storm”. Even shout out Harry Lambert and big ups Harris Reed in terms of a team being key in success (more to HL). Plus also figuratively not being afraid to take it there and take risks while also “keeping your ears to the street” in how you pull references and pieces from all over the gaff!

Also with this book was able to spin back Harry’s Albums while reading (even a bit of Hosono’s House) and the kid really is 3/3 lool. Like revising Fine Line in full which at one point was my favourite but was after going back more and more to the others was last … spinning it back has me thinking this is his Currents (the best album is his front to back), while Harry’s House is probs his most formally and musically that his best in my eyes. Then in terms of Highs … self titled peaks the highest in my eyes like bro … what am array of albums so far. Convos will need to be had if his next one is as good as these 3! 😤🫡🫂🫱🏿‍🫲🏾. - FOR REFERENCE I AM LISTENING TO ‘CHERRY’ AS I WRITE THIS! (Was also listening to ‘Meet me in the Hallway’ & ‘From the Dining Table’) the latter two have been some of my favourite of his for like 5 years lol BUT man Cherry i slept on and is a recent favourite.

(P.S super random and this is a BIG COMPLIMENT compliment lol but was in Madrid a few months ago and the taxi driver couldn’t stop playing John Mayers catalogue and it made me deep how the whole of Harry’s first album feels like him trying to replicate John’s “The Heart of Life” which is a compliment cause that song is SO FUCKING GOOD! 😭😭😭. ESPECIALLY “Meet me in the Hallway’ & ‘From the Dining Table’ feel like they are spiritually interpolations of that song. (SUPER COMPLIMENTARY). And omds being by yourself in a hotel room playing those 3 back to back to back out loud is #SPECIAL. Right in the feels in the best way as the songs are so damn good man! - (as I now am listening to that song as I type out this paragraph).

(P.P.S the last chapter or so in this book will be a big part of a suit documentary I hope to release one day (this year or next lol) and so this book is so key in triggering that idea in my head (maybe even something to do with Marc Bolan aswell (this and the 70z book) … “Art of … 🤷🏾‍♂️😅)

Even for a superfan like myself, this book packed a lot of info in it, and not all of it I knew! It was really cool how the book was blocked out by not only fashion era, but also by musical era—which, when you’re talking about Harry Styles, may seem like the same thing, but not always! I appreciated the recollection to his earlier years when explaining certain motifs of today. A really cool, extensive ode to Harry’s iconic style and overall global influence.

This was a gift for my 26 birthday ❤️
A book about Harry Styles and it’s aesthetic ????

cute cute cute

It’s just missing the frog bob trend and I wish there was a picture of his outfit from Paris N1 (my show) but I knew it wouldn’t be in there

Sometimes it was a bit messy, going back to 1D and then tinFine Line ear and then to HS1
And sometimes it was a bit exaggerated like « Harry semi-good » let’s keep your chill girl
