Bob did the neighborly thing, and helped out some folks with a problem. You know it can’t be that easy, right? Things get a little sporty when it comes to how people want to reward him for his actions. Come see how Bob deals with notoriety.
I’m a house husband. I keep things together while my wonderful wife makes our living. I’ve worked as a machinist, short order cook, electronics assembly tech, and several other jobs. My hobbies include vehicle maintenance, (I’ve had the transmission out of my truck. Twice) free flight airplanes, electronics, and shooting. I was born and raised in the Ozarks, and now live in Mid-Missouri.
I will say, up front, I am totally hooked on Bob & Nikki. Have been since volume 1, "Bob's Saucer Repair." The series has engaging characters and a bit of everything, humor, action and even some romance. Science fiction without beating you over the head without high level techno theory or jargon or deep philosophy. This is what you read for entertainment. I know of no other series that has 33 successful volumes. Can't wait for #34.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
I find my self waiting and constantly checking for new books. These books are packed with pop culture references and just good humor. I find myself totally immersed while reading that it took me 5 books to even notice there are no chapters.
A unique writing style that may give neuro-typical readers some trouble, but I encourage everyone to stick with it. The development of character and interplay is fun to watch. Lots of great lessons and challenging interpersonal issues are highlighted in a logical and brilliantly simple to understand way.
I have recommended these to all my friends and many strangers that have questioned my out loud giggles and guffas... They are a joy to read and I hope that he continues this awesome story of a simple country boy and his stellar rise to the stars and beyond!
I've read some books Sci fi not being my favorite. I like mystery but I have a soft spot 4 a good love story who don't? Well let me start by saying I can't get a handle on what Bob with his crew & fleet will do next. I tell u also I look VERY forward 2 reading it. I also say if they can read these books are all ages. Nothing in there language wise maybe a real prude could find other than unwed mothers in the content. Sex is illuded 2 but not discussed. Very clean books. Read 4 urself u won't be disappointed. Thank u author, I hadn't thought I'd enjoy ur books but I truely have im Going 2 miss having them 2 read please hurry write more. 😂 ur fan. Erina litz
Another fine tail indeed. The way the world is today these tails of Nikki and Bob's adventures are a welcome relief. Your sense of humor is great. I really would like to hang with Bob and his motley crew of misfits. I'm desperately in need of assistance from Topper and the bots to work on my truck and a few more projects on my house. Also, if you have an extra autodoc appointment open I sure could use that too. I'm really tired of being disabled and confined to live out my days in my bed. Some of the few times I get to laugh is when a new adventure comes out. Thank you for that. My wife thank you for that as well. She says she can definitely tell when a new Bob and Nikki is released.
I've been reading this series literally since day one. As a writer I have very much enjoyed watching Jerry grow and develop. As a reader, I've found these tales (and tails, come to think of it) fascinating, easily read, a virtual holiday. I hope Jerry has derived some value from the comments and critiques I have left for him, watching him grow as a writer has been as much fun as reading the stories themselves. The tales have matured and have become as addictive as heroin., 4 TIn my opinion dialogue was Jerry's weak point, but this volume displays the excellent progress he has made. I hope Jerry continues writing this story forever.
This review covers 1 through 33 in the Bob and Nikki series. The fact that I read all of the series to date should tell you I found them entertaining for sure. I took one star off because of the constant redundancies each book includes where the author keeps repeating phrases and stories. I just skimmed over those parts. The stories are simple, the characters are fun and the good guys always win! This is not complex sci-fi just simple escape from reality which is needed sometimes these days where only bad news sells :-)
I truly enjoy this series. There's no getting past it, it is a fun ride, of free flow of thought, snark, sarcasm and moments of excitement! Bob and the crew work hard at not taking themselves to seriously, until the squirrel s start some stuff. Then the serious comes out. Do yourself a huge favor read this wonderful series.
I love his books. He takes things that a lot of "normal" people see as flaws and shows that they're actually benefits. I hope you continue on with these adventures for many years! We've bought your merch and everything on audiobook. Thank you for sharing your talent!
I am a long time sci-fi reader, starting off with Ray Bradbury, and Isaac Asimov. Mr. Boyd does an excellent job blending technology, plot, character and humor. From the title you can tell the author has a great sense of dry wit. You will truly enjoy the journey.
I have read them all, and this one is as entertaining as the first. Mr Boyd makes all his science fiction in this series seem as a natural everyday occurrence, no mind cramping physics to try to understand, just easy to read fun and I really appreciate that about this series. Its definitely my favorite.
What an awesome series! I enjoyed every books. I am so envious of BS crew members. I really wish it was real and that Bob would come pick me up. I can't wait till another book comes out. Are paperbacks going to be available for all 33 books in the future? I would love to buy them. Thank you for having such a good imagination..
Read from the beginning, learn all the secrets of how it started, and what happened, then get it on Audible and hear the accents. I have trouble imagining Bob’s accent, but the interaction between Bob and Nikki is classic and fun, and I love it, I’ve read all 33, and waiting for the next ones to pop up in the Kindle store!
I have said it before 30 ish times, Jerry Boyd knows how to spin a finentale. I have watched cultivate , fertilize 33 Bob and Nikki books now.Boyd, has developed and refined a " not so normal" classic sci to style that allows n the reader a peak into the characters day to day lives and actions. They are fun read...
A day in the life of Bob, can make even mundane fun!
The storyline flowed along smoothly for most of the book. As usually, the were a few surprises but those are to be expected. A note to Jerry, for the poem to be correct, his feet "...are Longfellows!" Nevertheless , I really enjoyed the continuation of the storyline! Back to waiting for the next book!!?
I still don't have the words to be able to express my appreciation of this series!
It seems to be written in a way that my generation can easily relate to, but that is the mark of all excellent Author's, or should be, isn't it? Although all the stories are quite different, the way they read, their warm style, would remind one of Robert Heinlien's many stories.
Very satisfying shore leave and character development.
Once again the group shares some quality time on the Earthly real estate. We can see the arc of many plot lines moving toward expected results, but only a couple reach their conclusion. To fully appreciate the many aspects of the full story means starting from book 1 and catching up from scratch. It's worth it!
Bob and Nikki books fall into the light reading category – – nice to read a few pages before falling off to sleep. After 33 episodes the author seems to be running short on plot lines. What started out as a space cowboy genre has morphed into more of a father knows best genre.
As soon as I find that there is a new book, it's a must purchase. The humour is so my style and the character interactions are the kind I grew up with of the joking with each other but not in a malicious way. Highly recommended this series.
Great story! While the squirrels remain as adversaries, the varied adventures within the story allow more BSR personnel and family to become known and loved. The Japanese sisters and their parents were fun and memorable. Keep up the wonderful story telling, Jerry!
This is the longest book series I have read, and I still look forward getting the next book, and I typically devour these books withing a day of getting each one. This latest book is no exception. Have a nice day.
Not too serious. Not too silly good clean enjoyable read. 33 books. Some of the humor gets a little old, but really most of us humans do like our favorite humor and stories, And we reuse them. Well worth reading.
I think this is probably my favorite volume so far. It’s got a very clever plot, and checks in with all of my favorite characters. Can’t wait to see what comes of the plot threads that have been left for future stories!
I love the Bob and Nikki series. Interesting characters and situations, but light enough to be relaxing reading - morning entertainment with my coffee. At 33 books in I still finish each one disappointed it’s over and eager for the next.
Just got enjoy the by play and the little tricks and traps. If you don't enjoy this, and you don't remember all the inside jokes, then you probably need to do a little bit of watching movies TVs and reading sci-fi.
We're over 30 books in, and I still love this series! I look forward to each new release because I know I get to spend time with Bob, Niki, Topper and the gang, and the characters always develop and grow. Keep 'em coming!
I really enjoy this series! I love the characters and the stories. Plus, Jerry is nice enough to keep these books coming at regular intervals. It’s just a fun read all around!
These are some of my favourite books. If I don't get a laugh I get a good smile. The adventure, the tech, the characters are all excellent! Good Reads, all of them. Thank you Jerry Boyd!
