3⭐️ This was…good but not good. Growing up, my church had several Creationist conferences/events, some of which were even with the Answers in Genesis ministry that Bodie works with. Because of that, I feel like I have a solid grasp on this topic, but I still went into this with not a whole lot of expectations. The first portion was just a reiteration of things I had learned before, but after that, it felt like Bodie took off and went from speaking in laymen terms to other paleontologists. Because of this, I was a little confused on his intended audience. I felt as if I would have to do extra research and study on my own to catch up, which is fine, but is still a little frustrating when the audience is not consistent.
Another thing that frustrated me is Bodie’s apologetic approach. I know in science we follow the methodology of “we don’t prove my hypothesis to be correct—we just prove opposing ones wrong,” but Bodie followed this as he made a case for Creationism. Instead of spending the entire book talking about why evolutionists are wrong and dissing “the other side,” I would much rather just have a solid case for Creationism. Don’t get me wrong, I understand his intent and agree with him Biblically, I would just rather have someone talk about his own side instead of focusing on the opposition so much.
That being said, I still learned a lot and can appreciate the amount of work and research the author put into this. It is a great resource on this topic, regardless of what I said above.

I was so looking forward to reading this book, and it did not disappoint! The author has such a great way of explaining difficult concepts in an easy to understand way. My understanding of apologetics related to the flood, dinosaurs, and dragons all greatly increased by reading this book. It was really interesting and hard to put down. My 11 year old read it as well and he really enjoyed it. I loved hearing the new fun facts that he was learning and sharing with us. It is so refreshing to have such Biblically solid, scientifically sound content about dinosaurs available. I highly recommend this book, for the middle grades on up to adults. I look forward to reading more by the same author.

I was hoping this book would be part of the newer work coming out about reclaiming a Medieval Cosmology. But it was the same tired apologetic points based in rationalistic arguments.
The author bends over backward to so narrowly define terms and avoid controversy that the book devolves into endless tedious word studies. The most tedious is chapter 19, where he gives a detailed breakdown of the Hebrew word "tannin" and all of the animals it could represent. But then he switches to English when reviewing the instances of "fiery serpents." He ignores the fact that the Hebrew word Seraphim only appears twice in the whole of the Old Testament. Once in Numbers 21 and again in Isaiah 6. God did not send Draco Lizards into the camp when Israel rebelled. He sent fire-breathing Seraphim. Flying other-worldly creatures to execute judgment on the people.
This book is indicative of why contemporary Christian apologetics has failed. When we approach the world using its framework rather that presupposing the Truth of God founded in Scripture, we are bound to fail.

This book is the Ark Encounter with an emphasis on Dinosaurs. The author presents many interesting opinions about dinosaurs as fact. It suggests Biblical answers that go far, far, far beyond anything the Bible remotely says. I think this is the worry to consider with the mainstream popularity of Answers in Genesis and the Ark Encounter. Now, before anyone stand up and proclaim that I’m not a biblical literalist, I am not talking about claims regarding a seven day creation. Instead, I find fault when the author goes beyond this and makes very specific claims about dinosaurs and dragons with great confidence.
This work does a lot of elementary, foundational groundwork before it gets off to the topic at hand. However, this is because it is using the framework of “the 7 C’s” as presented by its organization, Answers in Genesis. However, once the framework is established, it uses this to trace dinosaurs through creation, corruption, catastrophe, and other stages.
While many of the work’s conclusions are interesting and answer a wide variety of questions about dinosaurs from a biblical worldview, it seems that most of its answers are opinions that fit the biblical claims of creation but have no other grounding in scripture or science. It’s almost as if they are “doubling-down” on any objections by positing a story about things like dinosaurs that have little evidence to back them. Certainly, I understand that this approach honors a literal approach to scripture and sees these ideas to a conclusion, but I would feel much better if their opinions were expressed as ways that scripture MAY have played out in these specific instances (i.e. - dinosaurs) rather than the very emphatic claims of the author that this is almost certainly how it happened. Scripture does not tell us the specifics in these instances. Yet, In trying to refute pseudo-science and Darwinians, they too slip into a stance that is all too confident at times. However, I do appreciate the commitment of the author to attempt to answer such specific questions and to contemplate how the natural world might reflect scripture.

At many junctions in the work it departs from the topic to talk about the Ark Encounter and other topics in Answers in Genesis and Young Earth Creationism. I’m disappointed with the amount of time spent in the book on trying to convince readers of fallacy within “secular religion.”
He calls secularism a religion but really it’s much deeper. Not really a religion but an environment seen even within the church. We all struggle to fight against it. It’s fleshly in a way.
Yet it’s not the topic of the book. I would have appreciated more time spent on the topic. The topic being dinosaurs and dragons. I felt over half the book was him talking about why evolutionists were wrong. I was hoping for meat and it felt more like milk to me.

I absolutely loved reading Dinosaurs, Dragons, and the Bible. The scientific and Biblical information is presented in such a way to promote understanding without causing confusion or being overwhelming. I especially appreciated the chapter on when Dragons became a myth with the comparison to the DoDo bird. This book is a great addition to our apologetics library and is an essential resource in debating with those who espouse an evolutionary worldview.

Pretty good! I really enjoyed this book and liked how the author tied secular humanism and other topics into it. I do think it could’ve been put in simpler terms. Some parts were difficult to read because of all the scientific jargon and I think I would’ve liked this more during a calmer time in my life.

Was just not very compelling. I've read so much better. Some interesting info at the end about footprints. Not written well. Poor tone. Arguments were not argued very good.

The audiobook was decent but I’d much rather read it in person. It had a lot of good information backed by Bible verses. The book was pretty average.

Excellent look at dinosaurs from a creation science perspective, especially the connection between dinosaurs and dragon legends, along with undisputable images of dinosaurs made by humans, such as Bishop Bell's grave in England's Carlisle Cathedral.
The chapter on human "out of order" footprints is especially fascinating, since it is yet more evidence that Darwinism is a belief, not science. For example, the Berean tracks of Kentucky were found in "300 million year old" rocks and had all of the characteristics of human footprints, yet the evolutionists refuse to admit that the prints were human. One evolutionist even suggested that they were made by a giant bipedal amphibian, even though there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever for the existence of such a creature.
Unfortunately, the book was also written from an obviously Protestant perspective; for example, it ends with an appeal to "accept Jesus as your Savior" that is sadly common with creationist books. the author takes a Protestant approach to the Bible, such as referring to Daniel chapter 14 as "apocryphal"; he also perpetrates the myth that the Catholic Church is/was "anti-Bible".
