I bought this book as a Christmas present to myself but it brought me more gifts than just something to open on Christmas Day. To the reader it becomes a relatable journey that makes you reflect on your own. As Candy recounts the highs and lows of her life, it becomes clear that sharing our stories has an awesome effect that can only bring us together. Candy teaches us that it is brave to share our stories and in doing so, it releases the burdens that we carry in our souls. The red ribbons that bind us will surely envelope you as you read Candy's journey and her reflections upon it. This book finishes with journal prompts that will start you on your own reflections and guide you to your own self-care, which I plan to use. I encourage you to do the same.
