Dan Stratman

In addition, Captain Stratman is a highly sought-after aviation consultant, media aviation spokesperson, and NASA Astronaut applicant. He is a World traveler, having been to 38 countries so far.
In his new novel, Dan takes the reader where no passenger is ever allowed to go – past the armored steel cockpit door and into the pilot seat – telling them what really goes on during an in-flight emergency. MAYDAY! takes the reader through a frightening scenario that has chilling resemblances to recent actual events.

The MAYDAY! story was originally written as a screenplay. After it did well in several large screenplay competitions, Dan thought it would be well-received by a wider audience and decided to convert it into a novel.

The app did something that was sorely needed, it made flying easier and less stressful for passengers. In addition, he created a specialty photo printing eCommerce website, ran a multi-expert aviation consulting company he founded, and has filed numerous patents. In his spare time Dan enjoys mentoring budding entrepreneurs and volunteering weekly with Habitat for Humanity.
The two things he is most proud of are his long marriage to his lovely wife and his three wonderful kids.

Book #3 of a series. My first introduction to Capt. Cyndi Stafford. This is a fast read. Not a lot of complexity. This book reads pretty much as stand alone, with some questions from me regarding her back story. Well, I should then read books #1 and #2. Again, not needed as the storyline proceeds well without the backstory.
The plot was okay, but the writing style did seem a bit dated. I can't pin down why it comes across to me as such. Maybe it was just a bit too fairytale in the telling. The story twist clues' were too obvious. Stafford's career advancements did not at all seem consistent with the military mindset (which puts me off on going back to read more of her backstory). Overall, I only felt it to be an okay read, for my tastes.

In this third installment of the Captain Cyndi Stafford series, Dan Stratman has another guaranteed bestseller on his hands. Cyndi is an ace Air Force fighter pilot who truly “feels the need for speed”. Many officers have underestimated Cyndi’s professional and personal capabilities and have learned the hard way that behind her beauty is an exceedingly sharp and resourceful woman. Cyndi is selected for training to fly a newly designed complex fifth-generation jet called a Panther.
While running an errand for her mother, Cyndi stumbles across a woman being brutally beaten. Without hesitation, she wades into the fight and stops the attack on the woman. She later learns, one of the men involved in the assault she stopped was Jesus Galindo-Diaz, leader of the El Diablo cartel. The man behind the attack says “you have no idea who you’re dealing with.” Diaz manages to have Cyndi’s jet sabotaged which culminates in her being placed in the hands of Diaz who seeks to extract his revenge.
Fans of military aviation and action in the air and on the ground will be rewarded with a fascinating read.

I enjoyed this book so much! I wasn't sure if I would like it because air force and military stuff don't interest me much, but this book was awesome. Stratman did a wonderful job of keeping me interested on every single page. I also loved that I could read this book without having read the other two and still understand what was happening. I'm so glad I took a chance on this book because it will forever be a favorite of mine. I can't wait to read Stratman's other books!
