When the aliens who enslaved us finally leave earth, humans slowly realize that not just the planet has altered. They altered us. Humans of all sizes now inhabit this world, from tiny insects to humans as tall as trees or maybe bigger. It’s a strange new world doesn’t even slightly cover it. The author envisions a truly astonishing, bizarre, but disturbing society. This short book is a fascinating read and the illustrations really add to the experience. Loved it!
Author Mike Dubisch let his imagination run free in this entertaining novelette that reads like a comic book. The author offers the reader an engaging look at how human life may have adapted to being dominated by aliens and what life may develop at the end of a brutal alien occupation.
There’s a glimpse into futuristic life and culture, how humans expanded into various race types (including giants, “halflings” and tiny creatures called “Bugs”), a bit of violence and gore, some quirky sex scenes, and an interesting anthropological description of the development of a monetary system, commerce and entertainment.
Visions of our world altered by aliens. Not that unlike the way we alter our own world and manipulate the creatures who live here. An amazing depiction of different reality. Loved the art.
This reminded me of that crazy weird animated movie “Fantastic Planet” from the 1970’s. The premise of this short novel is of humans being engineered by aliens to be a variety of sizes . Quite a lot of sizes really. I almost wish there was a diagram. That said, the book was really engaging and had some of the most off the wall sex scenes I’d ever read. I hope we follow up on the character of Deaze, the mega giant person who reads minds. It’s interesting that the giants that live inside the dome are psychic. I'll definitely be reading the next book.
