Hades is a novella and part of Larissa Ione’s fantastic Demonica/Lords of Deliverance Series and I was really looking forward to the blue mohawked badass and jailor of Sheoul’s story.
I was a bit disappointed….perhaps it had something to do with this being a novella because the story felt somewhat rushed and I just didn’t feel connected to the two main characters.
Hades didn’t sparkle to me!! He dawdled around Cat aka Cataclysm, fallen angel because she was in cahoots with the wicked angel Gethel, who nearly caused a world apocalypse in one of the previous books, and is now working in hell for Azagoth trying to be a good girl so she can go back to Heaven.
Hades then finds himself trying to save Cat from bad demons even if it means that it will have so not good results in his trying to get out of the hell-hole he was thrown to years and years ago.!!!!
Look, it’s not a bad story but just not great and I am happy I read this addition to the series. Just didn’t excite me!!!

4 Hades-loving stars
As a mad fan of all things Demonica, I have been so excited for this novella. I absolutely adore Hades – perennially shirtless, blue-mohawked, sarcastic and arrogant keeper of souls and jailer of the Underworld. He has popped up in a number of books throughout the series, and I was thrilled when we found out he was getting his own story.
Cataclysm (Cat) was an angel, but unwittingly joined Team Bad during all that went down in the last couple of books in the series. Stripped of her wings, she is now a fallen angel and working for Azagoth in Sheoul – cleaning his house no less. All she wants is the chance to earn her wings back and return home, and when she accidentally opens up the door to Sheoul-gra, allowing unauthorised souls to enter and putting into motion what could possibly become the next apocalypse, she seizes her chance to make it right and decides to go in hell (literally) to fix the problem.
When Hades learns of riots and trouble rumbling in his domain, he goes in to investigate, finding Cat in the middle of the mayhem. Now, with the two of them stuck in hell, he has to keep them both alive while trying to quell the growing threat.
Of course it’s all complicated by the mad lust the two of them feel for each other. Cat has been attracted to Hades since she first laid eyes on him, and in return Hades wants her fiercely, but Azagoth has forbidden him to touch any female under his protection, and he knows from experience never to cross his powerful boss. But that doesn’t stop his shameless flirting.
I love Hades! He’s so freaking badass, and even though he has been tormented by Azagoth for thousands of years, and is surrounded by the worst evil the wold has known, he just accepts his lot for what it is, doing his job but never losing his sense of humour.
The chemistry simmering between Hades and Cat builds throughout the story, and though they have a lot standing between them, it gives them a chance to get to know each other, and I love the moments where we got to see Hades’ vulnerabilities.
The progression of their relationship is fast, but you have to expect that in a novella. I would have loved this to be a full story, because there’s a lot going on and it seems rushed at times, but it’s still really enjoyable. There’s some good character development, lots of action, paranormal awesomeness, laugh out loud moments, and of course the love story which is both hot and really sweet.
Larissa Ione has a fan for life in me. I loved this story, and am so happy that Hades got his own HEA. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on anything else Larissa wants to give us from this fantastic world.

Actual Rating: 2.5 stars.
It was ok. However, in comparison to the other stories from this world, it was underwhelming. I personally was expecting more. I didn’t feel a real connection or emotion between the characters. Cat and Hades come across as nice people, but as the protagonists, Hades left me unimpressed and Cat was very simple-minded.
In regards to the plot, in my opinion, it doesn’t complement well the Demonica series. It was overly dramatic, while the resolution was oversimplified. To me, it rests to the whole.
Overall, is a nice, quick read.

These novellas are more small novels and less novellas, this one is again around the 150-page mark and is about Hades, Azagoth's Jailor of Souls and Cataclysm an unfallen who is under the reapers protection and also employed in Sheoul-Gra.
Cat accidently opens the portal into the inner-sanctum while cleaning Azagoths office and lets through a soul that doesn't belong causing a series of events that then put all in serious danger. Trying to fix her mistake Cat again lives up to her name and as a result finds herself in a tenuous situation and also trapped with Hade's, shut-in in the inner Sanctum.
Hades is the only thing standing between her and danger but she is equally ecstatic to be spending some serious time with the male she has been obsessing over for many months.
Cat is the one thing Hades wants but with an edict from Azagoth himself hanging over his head he can look but not touch not unless he wants to risk having his skin peeled from his bones once again by his boss.
I loved Hades with his blue Mohican, sense of style and leathery wings, I also adored his sense of humour. Cat well she was a gentle soul but she also had a backbone and core of pure steel and I was rooting for these two all of the way. We also get some more Azagoth and Liliana which is always a bonus and these two hold a special place in my heart This was another worthy addition to the series and I really enjoyed this a lot.

Hades is the Jailor of Hell. Being the original bad boy and a fallen angel, he likes to be shirtless all the time and he has a blue mohawk and a bad attitude. His boss is Azagoth.
Azagoth, for his personal reasons, is making Hades’ life a torment every day. You see Hades made a huge mistake when he was younger and Azagoth has not forgiven him ever since.
Cataclysm (Cat for friends) is another fallen agent that has joint Hell’s personnel. She really likes Hades but he does not give her a chance to come close to him.
Cataclysm lives up to her name. She is a true disaster. After she got kicked out of heaven, she is now the worse housekeeper for Azagoth’s house.
Very soon, she will make the tragic mistake of letting a good soul entering Hell.
While she tries to correct her mistake, she enters hell as well to find and save the lost good soul. As a result she will be an easy prey for the demon souls there.
Hades will try to do his best to save her, before Azagoth realizes that there is something wrong in his otherwise flawless business.
Very soon, they will be both in trouble and Azagoth will need to interfere and to show his real cruel face.
This is a really funny (in a weird short of way) short novel.
Rough (but lonely) Hades and clumsy (but nurturer) Cat are perfect for each other.
“Shit,” he rasped. “Too much. This is too much.”
Too much what? It wasn’t enough, as far as she was concerned. “I like touching you.”

I never thought that someone can actually make me like or even have sympathy for Hades, I mean the guy is called the Lord of the Dead amongst other not so nice things.
Cataclysm aka Cat was just recently kicked out of Heaven, now a fallen angel she works for Azagoth in Sheoul-gra (hell). Cat is trying to earn her way back to heaven. Though all she can manage to do at this point is make a mess at Azagoth’s home.
Hades is as I said earlier, the lord of the Dead and is responsible for the torture and punishment of the souls in hell. He takes direct orders from the Grim reaper himself Azagoth.
We already had met Hades and Cataclysm in the previous books in the series of course and they both seemed pretty darn interesting especially Hades with his blue mohawk, not something that one would except from a jailor of the souls in hell.
Can I just say I love Hades, I mean not only did he retain his humor for god knows how long centuries he spent in hell and in service to Azagoth who was quite angry at him. He is scarastic, a bit damaged, too cocky for his own good (though Cat doesn’t seem to mind this at all) but you can’t help but love him.
Hades and Cat’s relationship was great, it had witty banter, some seduction by Cat, some running away from Hades (who doesn’t want to read that?) and all around great chemistry and eventually love. It’s was also great to see their development of what they both wanted at the start of the book and what they got so much better.
Random thing: Just throwing it out there, Really Azagoth Really ? I love you but you can be such a jerk at times.
Quibbles: I wanted more of them, they were both very intriguing characters and they have lived quite a long time on hell/heaven and I wanted to know more about than just parts of their history and I just generally wanted this book to be longer especially since I think this book will be it from the series for a while now.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it’s a great addition to the series. Happy Reading!

Hades!! The bad boy , Jailor and Torturer of souls that loves being shirtless and sports a kickass blue mohawk. He is such a smartass and totally inappropriate sometimes but underneath all that is just lonely man who wanted someone for him.
He got Cat aka Cataclysm, a fallen angel that is Azagoth maid and friends with Liliana.
This one was a bit meh.. the heroine cannot really be compared to the rest of this series badass females. Overall, underwhelming and rushed but I suppose its just a novella so its not that bad.
Still love this series and every character in it♥️

I love the Demonica/Lords of Deliverance series and Hades' story was certainly entertaining but ultimately not completely satisfying.
I think there was too much going on for such a short novella that neither the romance nor the plot were really developed. They didn't really spend enough time together for me to believe they went from lust to love. There was a lot of telling and not a lot of showing when it came to the plot and the resolution felt anti-climactic.
I think it's still worth a read if you're a fan of the series but probably not the best place to start if you're new to it.

Hades is the latest installment of Demonica series (that I love so much) and a final-for-now story that happen in the complicated yet fascinating Demonica worlds. Follow directly after the end of Revenant and some characters are already introduced from novella Azagoth, Hades is a story about Hades (of course!) and Cataclysm. Cat is a fallen angel that first introduced in Azagoth as his housekeeper and as for Hades, reader know him from Rogue Rider (or Lethal Rider, I don't remember). The story is revolved around how Cat just messed up big time with Azagoth's realm and Hades come in the rescue. Cat and Hades are attracted to each other, but sadly, Cat think Hades is too hot for her, and Hades avoid Cat because Azagoth said that Cat is off limit to Hades. All misunderstanding because old grudge between good ole Azagoth and Hades. Talk about literary live in hell.
Sadly, as the final encore for a series, I think that Hades work better as a full length novel rather than novella. Don't get me wrong, Larissa Ione can write a good novella like what she did with Azagoth. The problem with Hades is the story is too rushed, Cat and Hades chemistry also too fast while I know that if this one is a full novel, Ione can develop their relationship. Also, Cat is...blah. Even she have awesome ability, she mostly fade to black. Not just once, but twice. The reason behind why Cat is off limit to Hades also feel a little flat. Like just...like that *shrug*. I'm a little bit disappointed :(.
Anyhoo, not that this novella suck. It's pretty good for my standard, just not as good as another book/novella in this series. Larissa Ione's trademark still there, a shade of grey between good and evil, like how evil can be good, and good also can do evil things. There are also some scene about Zhubaal, Azagoth's trusted man that held some hint of promising future story. As for character, even Cat is a little blah for me, Hades have Ione's mark. Meaning, a badass alpha male heroes that have soft heart. Much like Revenant and Azagoth, Hades also come into this teritory, which make me adore him. His scene with Cat succesfully make my heart melt like a puddle of goo. So glad he's not jerk like Ares or Shade, lol!
In the end of this novella, Ione also give a sneak peek to her new Demonica novella. You may confused why I said Hades is the final instalment. I think, yes, but its final for the current arc and the next arc, according to Ione's newsletter/blog will be about the Seminus and the Horsemen children. It's seems like this novella will be the bridge that connect it, or maybe just some story that don't connect with the main story but happen in Demonica world. Some good news, for any M/M fans, they will rejoice because this novella have M/M couple.
Overall, Hades just okay, but still whet my appetite for more Demonica world. Demonica is one of a series that I never got tired off and I can't wait to know what Ione may bring

Oh how I’ve missed being in the Demonica world. With just the right amount of humor and snark, Larissa Ione managed to make me both happy and sad with HADES. Why? Happy because it just felt nice to read a paranormal with a flair of what I used to love in my reading. And sad because I just miss it! I miss this genre done in this way. I miss Larissa Ione’s writing style. And I miss this world!
Hades is a typical hero for Ms. Ione. He should be all bad but he’s actually got a sweet side, and a playful side. He’s been punished by Azagoth for so long, and he wants nothing more than being able to live his immortal life in peace and happiness. What a refreshing take on him! I think you will quickly fall in love with the man, all bare chested and alpha male.
But if there’s one thing that Larissa Ione usually does well is writing a kick ass heroine and this is no exception, I loved Cat! Cataclysm is a fallen angel. Living her days as Azagoth’s maid and hoping that she can meet the requirements needed for her to get her wings back and return to the Heavens. Where she was shunned from and kicked out. She’s not your typical kick ass chick. She doesn’t know it all. But she has good intentions and a great personality. I fell in love with her from the very beginning. I couldn’t help but laugh with her and at her.
Theirs is a bit of an insta-love relationship. Those usually don’t work well for me. But somehow it did! Maybe it’s because they’ve known each other for a while, even if they’ve never spoken. Truly they are the perfect compliment for each. Just enough good with just enough evil. Well not evil really. More like just a healthy dose of bad boy? And did I mention hot? Yeah, although this is not quite the level that we’ve sometimes seen from Ms. Ione (it’s only 100 pages after all!) you won’t be disappointed in that department either. Hades and Cat have chemistry in spades!
This is a quick one and I think you will be left like me. Wanting more!

I absolutely love Larissa Ione's Demonica series and I really miss the world and the characters so I'm thrilled that she's still writing the occasional novella for fans to dive into. Hades has made appearances throughout the series but he's never been a central character, mainly because Azagoth has kept him pretty much confined to Sheol-gra as punishment for something he did thousands of years ago.
Anyway, I was really excited to get to spend some time with Hades and I loved Larissa Ione's take on him, she's very, very good at showing her bad guy's softer side and she did this perfectly here. All Hades really wants is to be allowed to live his life in peace, he doesn't like being trapped in Sheol-gra but he knows he plays an important role and he would just like to be able to leave occasionally for a change of scenery. Unfortunately Azagoth is not someone who forgives easily and he's nowhere near done with Hades' punishment.
We've also met fallen angel Cataclysm in previous books, she was one of the angels who was tricked into helping Gethel, almost bringing about the apocalypse, and it cost her everything. Cat is currently living and working in Azagoth's home but she's desperate to win back her wings and will do whatever it takes to become an angel again. Unfortunately Cat's name suits her and she is a walking disaster area, pretty much everything she touches leads to trouble and no matter how good her intentions are she always ends up making things worse.
This novella was hilarious, Cat causes so much trouble for poor Hades even though all she's trying to do is help him. Azagoth was about ready to have a fit because of it and I think it's only down to Liliana's influence that both Cat and Hades even survived to the end of the book. The couple have fantastic chemistry, their relationship develops fairly quickly but I expect that in a novella and it never felt overly rushed in any case. My only complaint was that the uprising in Sheol-gra was dealt with a little too quickly and easily but that's a really minor issue that didn't bother me a great deal.
I miss this series so much and will happily take any opportunity to revisit it so I'm excited that I have a couple of novellas to go and I'm still hoping that Larissa Ione may decide to give us a few more full length novels too.

I’ll admit I had fallen behind with the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series. I haven’t read the last couple of books, life had gotten crazy and with the amount of books I read in a month I know I am behind on so many of my older favorite series. Even with being behind, I was able dive right back in and completely be devoured by this series. It was like I never left and I am going to be going back and re reading all the books because I remembered by I loved this series in the first place.
Hades has all the elements of the series that we have come to know and love. It is funny, it is sexy, it has demons and angels and fallen, it had it all. It is a novella but I didn’t feel like it was rushed or that I missed anything. I loved Hades and Cat’s chemistry, banter and overall their characters. If there is something that I can say that I didn’t like, it was that the book ended. That’s all. I could have read for another 200 or 300 hundred pages and I think I still would have wanted more.
Hades reminded me why I love not just these series that are entwined so much, but why I love Larissa Ione as an author. She has a way to suck you into the world she is writing about and you don’t want to leave. From the first page until the last I loved every word in between.

Hmmmm...it was good but just didn't hit me the way some of the others have. I loved Hades personality and the descriptions of his personality but I felt like when it was getting right into the good stuff I didn't get to see it. Although, the end was pretty funny and I guess that was the real him. The setup kinda was a little unbelievable but I guess something had to happen to get the story rolling. So, I liked it and think it was a good addition to the series it just wasn't the best.

Cat is an Unfallen working for the Grim Reaper in Sheoul-gra, which is a holding tank for demon souls. Cat has a mega crush on the infamous Hades who barely notices her. Or does he? 😏 Cat is pretty clumsy and one day, she makes a huge mistake. She tries to fix her mistake by infiltrating the Inner Sanctum AKA Hades's prison. But instead of making things better, her presence unintentionally starts a demon riot in the Inner Sanctum. Oops?
So now, Cat is stuck with Hades in the Inner Sanctum as they try to fix the problems Cat mistakenly caused. I loooooooooooved Cat and Hades. Their chemistry together is 🔥 It's so adorable how Cat was initially nervous around Hades. Of course, Hades noticed Cat from the very beginning...but freaking Azagoth had to interfere.
Hades has an interesting backstory that I did not really see coming. His dynamic with Azagoth is particularly interesting. This novella made me so angry at Azagoth because of all the restrictions he placed on Hades. Never thought I'd feel so protective of the asshole with the blue Mohawk, but here we are LOL. As it is common with the heroes of this series, Hades has been so lonely for thousands of years. It actually made me so sad 🥺
Given that this is a novella, part of the action during the climax is cut short. But we still get some kick ass fighting scenes with Hades, who got pissed his Mohawk was ruined by an axe lmao. The relationship development was really well-done, given the short length of this novella. And the HEA was soooooo satisfying 🥺 I really loved Cat and Hades together and I hope we get to see more of them in future novellas 🥰

So many books in and I'm still amazed at how the author describes her characters. The males are insanely hot hunks and the females are incredibly beautiful sirens. Hades, blue mohawk and all, sounded delish and Cat, with her barely-there clothing, seemed to be his match. At least physically. Too bad having a conversation and getting to know each other was impossible. That is until Cat makes a huge mistake and Hades has to be the one to help her out.
I loved the details given for Sheol-gra, such as the Inner Sanctum, the many halls and grounds that made up the different tiers of life in this realm, and everything in between. I definitely wouldn't want to live there, even as a soul, and I'm happy that there's a place suitable for even the good demons. That was a seriously nice touch.
This forbidden romance was surprisingly sweet and I was so happy to see Hades get some happiness in his life.

This was an enjoyable Hades/Persephone retelling, but in this one there is no Persephone. Only Cataclysm, a fallen angel sent to work for the grim reaper. Her work there leads her to deal with another fallen angel from time to time, Hades. The two start off as casaul acquaintances and then certain situations force them together. I did enjoy the chemistry and the smut between them. This was a short and sweet story so there wasn't much dancing around.

I won't lie or deny that Greek mythology has always fascinated me and I've read a few of Larissa Ione's novels in the past and fell instantly in love with the characters as well as the storyline. Hades, a book that I can't really say is a novella nor a full length novel due to it being roughly 150 pages, captivated me when Larissa Ione brings her readers through the stunning journey of Hades' and the fallen angel's, Cataclysm (or Cat)'s, whirlwind affair. Following the attempt of another angel to bring down Armageddon on earth, Cat was expelled from Heaven and in the hopes of being able to return, she now works in hell, looking for those extra 'brownie' points in the eyes of Azagoth, the big boss of Hades. The last thing that both Cat and Hades ever expected was to feel an overwhelming attraction for one another that would keep them wanting more of each other even though they know they shouldn't. If there's one thing that ever reader has to remember, it's that Hades isn't a full length novel, so not as much detail can go in the storyline, but I personally enjoyed it and even if I couldn't get a deeper background about the two, I could still feel the chemistry that exists between them. My only concern, while I debate how many more books of the series I should grab to keep me busy during the new few weeks, was Hades and Cat's love story before or after the epic love story and eventual marriage between Hades and Persephone?

Azagoth'un yardımcısı Hades ve işlediği bir suçtan dolayı düşen melek cat'in hikayesi. Açıkçası ben oldukça eğlendim okurken. Hades oldukça renkli ama bir o kadar karanlık bir karakter. Saçları mavi mohavk, üzerine renkli yanar dönerli pantalon dışında birşey giymiyor. oldukça seksi ve çok komik bir espiri anlayışı var. ama bir o kadarda acımasız ve karmaşık. kendi içinde yapayalnız bir adam. Cat ise oldukça meraklı bir tip . herşeye burnunu sokan , sakarlık yapan ve bu sakarlıkları ona pahalıya patlayan biri. Yani kim temizlik yaparken neredeyse dünyanın sonunu getirebilir ki. :D
Azagoth ise homurdanıp duran grumpy babalar gibiydi. Ay azagoth'a bayılıyorum ya :D eşkitom.

I loved Cat from the previous books but can we just be real here? She was not "brave" for going into the 5th ring, it was a very reckless move. ESPECIALLY when she could've just told the appropriate people to get the situation handled.
Okay with my mini-rant over, its no secret that I liked that blue haired bastard Hades from the Lords of Deliverance series but after finding out he has a softer side in this book, I liked him even more. Coupled with his backstory and all that Azagoth has made him endure for thousands of years, my love for him went way up.
He and Cat made a great couple and overall, it was a good one.

I always love a chance to revisit the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series and characters. This book was no exception. Although, I didn't love it as I did others in the series is was still a nice addition. Best thing about it? Reaver appears! Not once! But twice! :) Loved it!
Intrigued about Zubahall now. When do we get his story, Larissa? :)

This is completly enjoyable fast read and you don't have to have read the series to get a lot of pleasure out it.
I love the accident prone angel heroine. Hades is great. Their romance could use more time to be as a couple but the falling in love was good. The best moment in the novella has to do with regret and forgivenss outside the romance. It is tender, true and wonderful.

Oh how I've missed being in the Demonica world. With just the right amount of humor and snark, Larissa Ione managed to make me both happy and sad with HADES. Why? Happy because it just felt nice to read a paranormal with a flair of what I used to love in my reading. And sad because I just miss it! I miss this genre done in this way. I miss Larissa Ione's writing style. And I miss this world!

You don't need to read the rest of the books to understand what is going on, but since I had it certainly enhanced the experience for me. Hades isn't a character you get to see a lot of in the previous books, but the bits you do get are intriguing and pretty much NOT what you expect him to be. See, he is the Jailer for Sheoul, or Hell as we know it. Or at least I certainly don't expect the man in that position to sport a blue mohawk. Maybe that is my own misconceptions though. ;-)
The story starts with Cat, our heroine, making some poor decisions. She then tries to fix them, but OF COURSE makes them worse. And those bad decisions lead her right into the arms of Hades. WORTH IT. This is one of those easy stories, because if you read PNR AT ALL, you pretty much know how things are going to play out. But you know what? Sometimes I love that. I need that. No mind altering twists, no last minute "just kidding, I actually hate you" revelations ... just two people trying to figure out if and how they can be together with some seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
This story was just what I needed just when I needed it. When everything else I was reading was "stupid" or not keeping my attention, this just let me be. Let me enjoy the ride, the rush, the heat. Superbly done Ms Ione. Thank you.
