Sara Berkeley was born in Dublin in 1967 and educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Southbank University, London, and the University of California, Berkeley. Raven Arts Press published her first collection, Penn, in 1986. Since then she has published several books of poems and stories and a novel. Her most recent collection is Strawberry Thief (Gallery, 2005). She lives in a rural community just north of San Francisco with her husband and daughter and is currently training to be a nurse.
