Rate this book
A hidden city. A powerful artifact. And a deadly legacy.

A devastating battle in her home city has left Leah Anavion as queen and commander of an alliance of disparate forces brought together by necessity. But a new plan of attack could mobilize her forces on a journey straight into the heart of enemy territory. Meanwhile, silent soldier Hook Bard embarks on a mission to recover an artifact that could alter the course of the war. His mission brings him uncomfortably close to a painful past, forcing him to choose between fulfilling his duty… and settling an old score.

And Justin Holmes, reeling after a shocking defeat, needs answers. Can his allies be trusted? Who is this mysterious enemy, Avagad? And what really happened in the past to bring the world of the Oikoumene to its current state?
There is only one man, in this world or any other, who knows the truth.

The odyssey continues in this third installment of the four-book epic fantasy series that readers call FUN, ENGROSSING, and JAW-DROPPING

Good

I need the next one!

I wish it had more of the story from Justin’s perspective. It has had a lot of Hook’s, which was nice because then I could learn more about Hook, but Justin is the main character in my eyes because he was the first one I was introduced to.

But despite that, I did enjoy learning about Hook, and learning more about Justin’s dad.
