The Monet hardcover book by Frank Milner offers an in-depth exploration of Claude Monet’s life and work. With beautiful reproductions of his iconic paintings, this book is ideal for art enthusiasts, students, and anyone captivated by impressionism. Milner’s insightful commentary brings Monet’s techniques and inspirations to life, making this book a valuable addition to any art library.
This is a nice collection of Monet’s work from his early still life's to the final water lily collection. The book begins with a brief narrative of Monet’s life and explanations of the paintings that follow. This book is a quick read and perfect if you want a basic overview of Monet and his art. I love Monet’s appreciation for nature. My favorite passage explains that students of Monet “were instructed to go direct to Nature, to transcribe their own observations, and if they were not satisfied to give up being artists.”
